My 84 year old father has a 10 year old pair of Redwings that he loves. He was recently walking in them and the sole quite literally disintegrated on them almost causing him to fall. I called my local Redwing shoe store and it was going to take them 10 weeks to ship them off and get them repaired with the original style of sole that was originally on the boot. I decided to call King Shoe Repair and told them about my problem and they said to bring them by and they could find a sole that would work and I could get them back much quicker. I was able to take my dads boots by a few days later and I was able to choose from three different style of soles for my dads boots. We decided to go with the ones that had the most grip and that would last the longest. Needless to say I'm ecstatic for how well they turned out and how quickly they were able to get them done for a very fair price. The owner of the stores customer service over the phone is very personable, professional and not rushed. It was an even better experience meeting them in person. This was the first time I ever required shoe repair service, and King Shoe Repair made it an easy, fast, and enjoyable experience. I have a pair of work books which I had purchased from Red Wings a while back, and the soles had seen better days. Normally, when my work boots have worn out, I've just gone out and purchased a new pair. However, these boots were a tad expensive and probably the best boots I ever owned, and I did not want to part ways with them. Unfortunately, Red Wings no longer offered repairs for my model. They did, however, recommend King's. The owner was knowledgeable and offered me multiple options. The sole I went with was almost an exact match. It is hard to find somebody to repair shoes in this county, and we were thrilled to find this shop. We felt that the prices were very reasonable to repair the soles of our daughters cowboy boots, and he even polished them for no extra charge. There was a steady stream of customers which is great for such outstanding service. While I waited, I witnessed his excellent customer service skills. A woman came in with leather shoes that were ripped on the side and wanted to have them repaired. He explained to her that he could patch and stitch them, but they were so worn she would be returning for additional repairs, and he did not feel that she should make the investment. He could've taken the business more than once on that pair of shoes, but he was honest with her.
