I've been going here for work boots for the past 15 years. I usually try to talk to the older and potentially more seasoned and knowledgeable sales associates. Sam approached me when I walked in the door. He's in his mid-twenties so I quickly looked around to see if anyone else was free. Nobody else was and I'm glad! My feet have changed a little bit over the past year and my go-to boots no longer fit well. I found Sam to be amazingly knowledgeable, extremely patient and genuinely seemed pleased to help. Great service, let me say that again Great Service. I live in Darien and travel to this particular store, as the stores in the SW Burbs are a disappointment. The staffs are less than helpful. This store is helpful and understands the value of customer service. I do have a bone to pick w/ Red Wing Boots. I had a pair for 11 years, two resoles and were like bed room slippers. Eh. Went in on a dead day. We were the first two people in the store. Two employees sat behind the desk and chatted the whole time. They never offered to help. I asked to try on a pair of boots. I told her I had never worn red wing before so I wasn't sure what size I was. She didn't offer to size me. So I went with my usual size. They were a bit large. I fumbled around with the sizing device to figure out what size I should be for 15 minutes. It was clear I didn't know what I was doing. They continued to just chat and watch. Walked into this location on 6/12/16 to buy my boyfriend his first pair of redwing boots. The woman there at the time sold us boots with the understanding if anything went wrong with the boots bring them back and they would give me something in comparable. I said wow then spending $315 wouldn't feel so terrible and that means this company stands by their product. While that part of the encounter was fine, the other aspect consisted of her speaking ill of her Co-workers. She went on about how she called corporate of redwings to make a compliant and then didn't do anything to rectify their issues. I didn't think anything of it at the time, everyone has a bad day. I returned to the same location because the soles of the boot have come off and the tip of the boot was peeling. I thought I shouldn't have a problem returning these boots. My boyfriend and I showed the two women the issue with the boot and she said "we can't take these boots back and the warranty of the boot doesn't cover the sole separating from the shoe or the peeling.". I explained to her that is not what we sold on. She replied, "well the woman who sold you the boots doesn't work here anymore for giving false information" I replied, that's not my problem (you would think for the cost of a pair of redwing boots they would put more care into who they hire). She replied, "it's not my problem either" the sales associate didn't even try to help the situation by showing us something comparable. I think this store needs to revamp their staff by retraining them about the product and customer service. I will never buy redwing boots! The company is as reputable as their employees and it doesn't say much as the boots didn't even last a year and neither do their employees. read more

The staff is pretty cool. Location has ample parking. Great selection of boots, hiking shoes, and running shoes. Yes, running shoes. They sell a wide variety of leather care products. I also bought a nice pair of thermal underwear from them before. Socks and insoles are also available. I like to check out their beautiful display of Heritage boots. After searching the entire chicago market for a decent steel toe shoe I came to realize there is nothing out there for WOMEN that need a comfortable pair of WORK BOOTS. After vending my frustrations my brother recommended this RED WING SHOES since that is where he's been shopping for years. Well let me tell you, from the moment I walked in I was pleasantly suprised!! Big selection of steel toe shoes, boots and even reg casual oxfords and slippers!! Who would of thought!! From the moment I walked in I was welcomed and serviced to the fullest extent. I was even measured and fitted for a custom orthotic which I just love!!! I cannot be more grateful and they sure are the most comfortable boot I EVER WORE!! Therefore I would highly recommend RED WING SHOES and this store in particular. They also offer free complemantary conditioning and oiling of boots which I already had done 3 times ;) Love it Love it read more

Not all Red Wing shoe stores are created equal. I'm used to great service when I come to buy a pair or work boots. This was not the experience I got with my last pair. Woman working there sat on her ass from the time I entered until she had to get up to show me some insulated boots. She didn't offer which ones were warmer, just pointed at the symbol that means insulated. She then sat back down at the counter until she had to get the pair I asked for. Upon bringing me the boots, she left them for me and sat back down so she could look at her phone. I tried them on, walked around, and decided I would buy them. Put them back in the box and walked up to the counter and interrupted her phone session. Don't go to this store unless you know what you want. Unhelpful is an understatement. I will continue to buy Red Wings, I swear by them, but never from this store again. read more

I have been coming to this location for around 10 years now and I do have to say the store has improved greatly. On weekends it's packed I feel sorry for the girls when there left on there own they really should have more staff on busy days. Any warranty issues I've had with my boots they have always taken great care of me. The made in USA products will always be the best and I suggest every man in the workforce start investing in good boots like these. They have a variety of sizes and wides, great selection, and even a machine that measures you for insoles and shows yours proessure points, pretty cool store everything a guy needs is right here! read more
