While clubbing and bar hopping the nightlife scene on a Friday night at Brickell for the first time, I stopped by Red Bar to check out the scene and I am glad I did. This is a small bar a couple of blocks from the main street. They have outdoor seating where people were smoking hookah, which costs $60. They have a unique menu with craft cocktails that all run around $15 and up. Beers cost around $9 and up. I stuck with their specialty cocktails and they were all surprisingly very enjoyable. And despite the extra care it took to make these cocktails, the bartenders were on point, serving quickly. Inside a dancefloor and live DJ was playing an open format that made it a party, with a young crowd on the dancefloor. The only downside was that the drinks were pricey combined with the mandatory 20% gratuity, and the hookah was way overpriced even by NYC standards. Overall, I enjoyed the vibe here a lot. The last time we came here was several years ago, and I really loved the decorations inside: it seemed like you had entered a medieval place. I preferred it like I remembered it, but the waiter told us that the owner likes changing the layout very often. TLDR: The ugly sibling version of Tipsy Flamingo. Service is nice, and that's about it. Would I go again: Probably not. Food/Drinks: Drinks were fairly average. Not great, not terrible. Avoid the Kiwi whatever. It's awful. Ambiance: RedBar is small and kind feels grungy. Music is all over the place going from house music, Spanish trap, to rock. I love RedBar, I've always loved RedBar, and I always will love RedBar. I've been going to RedBar for YEARS (like what? 2008/2009??!!) and I CANNOT believe I've NEVER reviewed it. I am so sorry RedBar, please accept my dearest and deepest regrets. There was a time, back in the day, that I went to RedBar probably 2-3 times a week (when I lived and worked within walking distance, actually... RedBar was on the walk home from work to my house so it was always easy to find an excuse to stop in and grab a drink... or 3...) now my visits to RedBar are fewer and further between due to not living or working in the area, the growth of the area bringing traffic, different crowds, MORE crowds, and more traffic. However, if I find myself in the area I still somehow gravitate to RedBar. Maybe its just nostalgia at this point but I've never had less than an A+ time at RedBar. They've redecorated and it def. isn't the same local dive spot but it is still a local spot through and through. Every time I go I still run into people I know, maybe I haven't seen them in weeks or years and that's what's so special about RedBar. RedBar continues to grow and adapt with the neighborhood but not make its regulars feel as if they've outgrown them. Love it, love you and see you next time xx read more

We've been here a few times, usually stopping by when Moxies is full or to grab a beverage while waiting for a text to tell us our table is ready at one of the nearby restaurants. RedBar features a long bar with friendly and attentive staff, a few tables both inside and out front, and an eclectic mix of decor and "stuff" on the walls and placed throughout. They usually have sporting events playing on the TVs and drinks are well mixed, but are perhaps a touch more expensive than they should be considering how little they obviously spent outfitting this place. The top of the bar, the wall behind the bar and the shelves the bottles of booze are sitting on are all made from inexpensive particle board and most everything in this place from the lighting to seating to decor appears to be used/repurposed. It makes for a cool vibe, but it's not like they need to charge the same drink prices one pays at better Miami clubs (which RedBar definitely isn't) to pay off what they spent on decor. We've come here a few times when they had a DJ spinning and people dancing, and we also came here during comedy night, which is held on Mondays. The place is nearly always full but not packed. The lines for the restrooms can become very long at times for some reason. read more

Great bar any time of night. I normally go on Saturday, but I heard there is ladies night on Thursday so I will def be checking that out. RedBar is located on 9th Street along side of a pizza place (yum). I love the music here, it is a place I come to when I don't want to listen what every other bar in the area is playing. The bartenders are friendly and make great drinks. I also love that they have Jenga, always fun to join a game. I also saw that they have great happy hour specials and every night they have a different special. I would def check this place out if you are looking for a dive bar that has a relaxed feel and don't want a crazy night. I've been here twice, both times with coworkers. The first time I went it was pretty packed. I have to be honest and say that I'm not an avid bar goer/hopper but if a place has good music I can dance to and the crowd isn't sketchy or creepy lol, I'm in. At first glance, there's an outside area where people hang out and congregate. People who smoke or vape appear to take up shop there and me not being a smoker or a vaporer (no offense to those that do), I'd much rather prefer to stay inside. The music is pretty loud so you have to be okay with that and the crowd the first time consisted of younger twenty something year olds. The second time around the crowd was a bit older so it varies. From what I've heard all of people in the hospitality industry frequent there, like servers and bartenders, probably because it stays open so late. You basically get a mix of people. The first time the bar area was packed so it's hard to get the attention of a bartender but since one of my coworker's is friends with one of the bartenders there, it did help us order faster than most. I have to admit that the first time I went I did not expect to have as much fun as I did. It was on a Friday night after work a few months ago and I danced my butt off. My legs were so sore the next day.. I'll put it that way. From old school R&B jams, to 2000's dance party hits, to Latin/Salsa music, I had the time of my life moving and grooving. The second time it was less packed. We actually had plans to go to Sweet Caroline Karaoke but since the line was too long to get in, we opted to go to RedBar. It was much more of a relaxed vibe the second time around as it was less crowded. The music was okay. Maybe the DJ was different. I had one drink which was a Cosmo on the rocks. I forgot to ask for a specific type of vodka probably because I was too busy enjoying the music, but it was good either way. Anyhow, I had a nice time. I did wish though they had better music the second time around, but it was okay as I was able to converse with a couple that was visiting Miami. I love getting to meet new people as much as I maybe an introvert at times as I covet my alone time and there's nothing like curling up with a good book or cup of tea or hot chocolate but I'm an extrovert when it comes to meeting new people or trying something new because getting out of your comfort zone is good (granted that whatever you do is legal and puts no one in harms way). There's a saying that goes "you have to get comfortable in the uncomfortable" as that's where the most growth happens. So if you are new to Miami or someone looking for an unassuming hang out spot and are okay with dancing a little bit and listening to some old school tunes, this is the place for you. It's definitely not a club/lounge but it's not a dive bar either and again i can't speak to the bar scene in Miami as I don't frequent them often but it was fun to try something new. Will I be back? It depends on work, life, etc. but I do recommend it if you don't wish to pay a cover like I know some places do and aren't into trendy, soirée type of events. Just be ready though because people there will probably be drunk (and/or dancing in not the best way and I don't mean technically, I mean something else entirely)...call me modest...I don't care lol but it's still worth a try to check it out and feel it out. I did enjoy getting to sing my heart out that first time because you can't help but sing along to the tracks they play, especially if it's an 80's or 90's tune. If they had karaoke, that would be even better but I know that Sweet Caroline is right around the corner. Lip singing is still fun though if it comes down to it. I'm just happy I got to get out for a bit as I think it's good to let go (in a safe, responsible way) and trek somewhere to a place you've never been. The decor is pretty cool too. I like the neon sign at the front that's says something like "You're exactly where you need to be". They even had Mickey Mouse spray painted on the wall with the RedBar logo on top of it and me being a big Disney fan, it made me smile and I had to snap a pic of it. All in all, I had fun and that's what matters. As you get older, priorities change, but life is too short to not dance your heart out or sing like you're in the shower...that's how I live my life. So hopefully this review will help you decide whether or not RedBar is right for you:) read more

I live exceedingly close to RedBar so my friends and I decided to drop in and spare ourselves from carrying umbrellas on a rainy Saturday night. We came around 9:30pm and the place was about half-full and chill. True to its name, red neon perfused the room. An NBA dunking competition was airing on the TVs. I got a Manhattan which was smooth and strong. The cherry on bottom was a perfect finish. Unfortunately, the service soured the experience. The bartenders were distracted talking amongst themselves so after getting tired of waiting, I waived someone down to put in our orders. Trying to close out was also problematic. 18% tip is already included when you get the check. On another note, the floor has sticky spots... All in all, RedBar could be a place to start if you're going out around Brickell since you can actually hold a conversation without yelling. Hopefully, the service we got was just a fluke. P.S. From the outside I imagined the space to be a little larger. When you walk in theres a bar on one side, group seating across from the bar, and a DJ booth in the back. I went before the DJ and evening activities so it was pretty slow. They had football playing on the TVs and top 40 music in the background. I noticed that throughout the week they offered activities like comedy night. This spot seems like it would make a great hang out for after work or lounging with friends. There were several annoying fruit flys around the bar and by the bathroom which kind of tell me a lot about the cleanliness of the bar. I came here with an open mind hoping that Redbar would impress me. Their signature drinks all go for $11 and are made very well, tried the Cucumber Collins, the Banana Bread Old Fashioned, the Sexy Floridian and the Passion 75. For me it wasn't the drinks, but everything else that rubbed me the wrong way. Now according to ourbrickell.com Ladies Night here is promoted with free bubbly and $6 craft cocktails. We asked and the bartender validated what we thought, so we ordered three drinks and were shocked that the check came to $42. All in all, gratuity is included on anything after $25 and credit cards after $15. We were then explained that no drinks are half off and then we were all confused and upset. We spoke to another bartender who was off for the night, Corline (sorry if it's misspelled) and she was so sweet, completely understanding the situation and made it better. Coming here another night, we were still greeted by ice coldness as if the people behind the bar didn't want anything to do with us. The place wasn't even crowded for us to be standing by the bar for twenty minutes waiting to place an order. I don't want this to be one of those ranting reviews, but honestly I wish my experience at Redbar was different because I did like the style of it. Even getting past a misunderstanding, and giving them a second shot, I just don't like going somewhere where I feel like I'm bothering the bartender when I want to order a drink. Honestly, a little underwhelming. Knocked off a few stars because the bartender wasn't transparent, maybe dishonest even. A friend & I wanted to split a drink, a glass of cider with a shot of Fireball in it. The bartender kept insisting we should have more than one drink. We were under the assumption the second one would be on the house, since we already explicitly stated that we would only like one drink. Then we received a $30+ bill. Alex is usually the bartender we get to see. He makes some delicious cocktails. If you are not sure on what to order, he will make you a drink based on your favorite spirit.
