I've lived here for 2 years and while the first year was good, we have experienced issues like this one after another over the last 6 months. I'd encourage you to ask other residents and they'll confirm the same issues with JMC & Co, the management company. Example 2: The grills have been out of service for 4 months (April 17 - today). Ask yourself how any management company would let this happen? Example 3: JMC & Co has cut costs by eliminating the promised on-site emergency maintenance personnel. Instead they have one individual on call for properties located between Boston, Plymouth, and Providence. If you're locked out at 10pm and are second in line you'll be waiting hours to be let back into your apartment. This happens regularly. Don't rent here until you get something in writing in your lease about hot water downtime and on site emergency personnel. The prices are way too high for what you get. I consider my self a good tenant and left them no reason to have concerns about me paying my rent or being a good neighbor . I would be more them happy to rent or even buy a place from them. Jamie has always show me the upmost respect because i have show that to her. The windows were covered in dirt, the tops of the window had mung and mold growing on them and yes this was inside the house. The toilet had pee and poop in it, plus on the floor. The house had old shoes and children's toys inside and all the closet doors were torn off and thrown into the bathroom. If Davenport shows a house to rent in such disrepair I wonder what it would be like to rent from them, YUCK!

Unfortunately, acorn can't even keep their own lies and switch tracking straight. Don't move here unless you want to be kicked out for wanting changes on your lease. My rent was supposed to be raised $60 and of course I respectfully asked if they would keep my rent the same. As expected, Acorn (the management company) said no. Next, I asked if they would allow me to have one of their storage units at no additional cost with the rent increase and I asked them to fix several major issues within the first 30 days or I would begin putting my rent into escrow. After a few days, The regional manager and one other rental agent refused to let me renew my lease because of that. Now, a month later, the new tenant in that unit is dealing with a flooded first floor apartment I used to live in. Why? Because the terrible maintenance staff didn't fix ANY of the issues I told them was wrong with the space. An hour after my incredibly one sided conversation with these two, where they did all the talking, they had the constable on their payroll deliver a termination of tenancy letter. Yet, the cop said it was an eviction notice. What the heck? You know why I was actually asked to leave? Because I somehow upset One of the staff members and instead of coming to me like an adult to talk to me, they had me kicked out to live on the streets. If I didn't have friends and family, I would be on the streets. Do not rent from here! It's not worth it! It's over priced and the staff doesn't do their job. Plus, the maintenance staff is constantly smoking in the common areas of the building, then the staff blames it on the tenants. The only people that actually do their jobs are the cleaning ladies. Among other issues, there's mold and mildew through the whole building, all the construction work by acorn is half assed and not up to code, countless tenants were promised a storage space included in their rent before they ever installed a storage area yet charge $60 a month, we were promised a pool that still doesn't exist and they are still promising a pool! Staff smokes in the building, all of the "new" dishwashers, fridges and microwaves they install are actually used (there has been food and dirty dishes in one dishwasher they gave me and they claimed they just bought it a few days prior). When I lived in one of the accessible units on the north side, it was 9 months before the leak in the bedroom was fixed. Then when I lived on the fifth floor and first floor, there was problem after problem. Plumbing, electrical, A/C, mold, mildew, everything! Plus, we had several drug addict neighbors that I had to call the cops on at least twice a week. Oh! And let's not forget that the accessible units aren't actually up to ADA regulations. Staff tried to argue that they are but both of my parents helped write the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. It was pounded into my head growing up. Especially with 2 parents with physical disabilities, so I'm confident in my knowledge on the laws. Oh and maintenance is ALWAYS smoking inside the building and then blaming tenants. Smoking is allowed in the apartments, just not in the common areas. If you want to live in a luxury apartment, this isn't is.

At this time, I'd like to send a huge thank you to Chief Maintenance Engineer and Supervisor JOE FITZGIBBON who oversaw the correction of what I considered to be a significant construction issue in my new apartment right before I moved in (the bathroom and closet doors in one of the bedrooms had been hung incorrectly by the third-party construction crew, such that both doors swung into the room, cutting off significant floor space). I thought it sounded like a relatively easy fix, but I learned after-the-fact that it involved calling back in the construction crew, reframing both doors, and retiling a small portion of the bathroom floor. Yikes! I was initially told nothing could be done (construction finished), but Joe took inordinate steps to see that the issue was corrected to allow me much-needed space in the bedroom for my furnishings. He also went the extra mile with concierge-level service after I moved in by stopping by to welcome me to the community and to conduct another walk-through of the apartment to ensure everything was up to my liking. Thank you so much, Joe, for stepping in on my behalf, working your magic, and "getting 'er done!" despite the odds. It's your construction/engineering expertise, diligence, and most importantly your focus on the happiness, comfort and safety of residents, that keep the Rowen running like a beautiful Swiss clock. The level of professionalism has been impressive. Bozzuto put in place a beautiful team to run this luxurious and well laid out living experience. I have found Christine, Jackie, Will and Joe to be very welcoming, helpful and supportive as I and the others began to adjust to our new home. I feel sure that my husband and I will be happy here for years to come. The whole place is so gorgeous and it is nestled perfectly into the village of PineHills that has everything you could possibly need. I highly recommend the Rowen if you are thinking about it. When when I called the office arrange getting my check back, no answer. Finally I just went there and told them this is no way to treat customers.
