Not a good experience. My wife and I arrived to a very empty tavern. Only 2-3 other patrons there. Didn't appear to be any servers on shift yet so the bartender was our server. Service started well enough. The problem started after we ordered. Wife got wings which she said were OK. Nothing special. I ordered shrimp tacos and my wife ordered the Pittsburgh salad. While waiting for the food, it started to get a bit busier and I had to go to the bar to get drinks refilled. I get it. It was getting close to happy hour on a Friday. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that good. The steak on my wife's salad was so overdone it was hard as a rock. Inedible. The shrimp tacos were FRIED shrimp. The menu didn't say this. I was expecting steamed shrimp or any other preparation except fried. It's unfortunate because the rest of the taco toppings were good. Had the shrimp been anything other than fried, it likely would have been quite good. Menu should be updated to reflect the fact that the shrimp are fried. Didn't really taste like shrimp....just tasted like fried breading. Yuck. The fries were way too greasy. I only ate a few bites of the tacos and let the bartender know so she was kind enough to take them off of our bill. Don't know that we will be back. read more

Busy night in Carlisle during the Ice Festival so we decided to try an old faithful the North Hanover Grille. There were five of us and we were hungry from getting out for some fresh air and walking downtown. This is a very old style pub restaurant the Menu is a moderate sized and they offer specials. There was to much going on with our group everyone ordered something different and we had appetizers and soups and different entrees! I ordered a Chunky Buffalo Chicken Dip with Soft Pretzels for an appetizer I wish I took a picture anyway there were two large Bavarian Pretzels with a bowl of Buffalo Chicken dip it was exactly what you expect it to be great tasting and just enough spice! For Dinner I ordered the Dickinson 2 - 6oz Angus Burgers, Bacon American & Montery Jack Cheddar Cheese on a Roll Large & Delicious! Kudos to Vasoula our server on an outstanding job! read more

This place will treat regulars as family - the GOOD ones! Some of the food is just a little above average, but the crab cakes were awesome! Go for the pretzels with cheese-beer dip. The service is quick, professional, and friendly. You can go and just kick back, joke with staff, and feel good. read more

Amazing food, amazing staff, and definitely some of the best wings I have ever had in my life (crispy, seasoned to perfection, saucy, and oh so good). I came here to eat for dinner for the first time and the next day I was back for lunch. I could talk about the wings all day but our starters were amazing as well - buffalo chicken dip (so delicious and full of the perfect chunks of chicken), cheese curds, buffalo chicken quesadilla.. everything was perfect. Formerly known as the "Texas Hot Lunch", this is an excellent historical local restaurant. The service is always fast, and our particular (picky) family appreciates how fresh the food is. Well prepared, special orders done right. Wings are crispy and delicious. I'm loving their burger night. Local beer on tap and a well-stocked bar if you need that after work martini . Stopped in on Saturday during fall fest and the local HS XC race. Place was crowded but the staff did a great job moving the people in and out. Great prices, nice portions, and the food was fresh. My kid goes to Dickinson College and I thought we would try to support the local establishments. Definitely heading back when I am in town next time and I'll try a beer. Busy, friendly local place where they know how to operate a grill (nice grill marks on the meat, and real good roasted veggies as well), use fresh ingredients, keep some skills in the kitchen, and take great care curating their craft beer selection for their regulars. Nothing fancy, but certainly a solid choice. There's a room at the back if you need some peace and quiet. Clean bathrooms. read more

So the food on yelp looked good. I got the shrimp scampi, salad and Manhattan beverage. It was just me and the bill was $24.01 . The waitress was okay. I didn't know her name until I asked and she waited on an3 party that she was familiar with before me even though I came first. Her name is Althea - she did do her job and so it well in terms of waiting on me. I noticed how she interacted with others more. I'm assuming because it is a small town they are regulars or something. The food was very good. Salad was basic but the pesto was great! They had a plant based burger which I thought was good. The highlight of this place is the specials! They had a ton of specials (as seen in the photo). The aesthetics of the place is basic bar- low lighting - street parking pretty dingy inside . That alone almost turned me away. Very small and quiet . Fairly clean for a dingy place though. They have peanuts on the table I guess as a free appetizer. The chips side is good as well. A good selection of beers and a variety of mains to choose from. A very solid middle of the road kind of place. Nothing jumped out as noticeable either way. Stopped in on our road trip to visit New Jersey. First of all the town is ADORABLE!! What a perfect little hole in the wall. All of the food was delicious and the servings were very large for the price. My son got cheese sticks that were only $5 at happy hour. They were good enough but the marinara was delicious and homemade. I also enjoyed the pretzel with beer cheese (YUM) and a very delicious French onion soup. This is a great little local spot. read more

Endless peanuts and a surprisingly pleasant selection of Great Lakes and Troegs made lunch here more satisfying than I expected. Don't be mislead by the dim and mildly outdated decor. I had the blackened salmon salad, minus the salmon since they ran out last night. The chicken they substituted was seasons so well, and had a bit of a kick to it. Plus, the sweet potato fries were absolutely delicious. And the food came out relatively quickly - 15 minutes I'd say. Better than I expected, but far from the best. Our waitress could have been a bit more friendly. Also, it was very dark and almost seemed dive-barish with the numerous folding tables, plastic table cloths, and really dark lighting. For your reference, we were there on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm and were one of only a few tables in the restaurant. read more

We've been here a few times and were actually excited about it tonight! But, it was the worst service we've had and the food was tasteless! We had to find our waitress and ask for silverware and napkins and to exchange a dirty appetizer plate! They changed the menu but the burgers used to be quite tasty. Not tonight though! The waitress only stopped at the table about 2 minutes after delivering our meals. And when we checked out she never asked how anything was. We each left at least 1/2 our burger and fries uneaten on our plates. I just cannot believe it after the great service and delicious food we had before. read more

Service is friendly, fast, and welcoming. This place is a neighborhood place where everyone can know your name. Food is great. Nothing fancy, but good comfort food. Owners are almost always working. It is clear to see they are invested. Wing night is Tuesday, best wings in town. If you are looking to melt your face off, try the insanity sauce. You've been warned. The cheese steak is awesome. It is served on the hard crust roll. My wife's favorite. My boys love coming here. Sometimes you feel like you pay a lot of kids meal, for what you get, but not here. Kid meals are very good potions. You'll probably be needing boxes. read more

Good spot to stop for a quick lunch. The French onion soup was so good! And the crispy sweet potato fries! Also ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap.. it needed some lettuce. Overall, the service was good. We sat outside, but would probably sit inside next time because of the tractor trailer traffic through downtown made it loud. read more

This was my first visit to this restaurant, and I will return. I ate here with my brother and a friend before we went to the Carlisle Theater, because I t was within walking distance and a beautiful night. The servers were all very pleasant and attentive. We had sandwiches: a Southwest Wrap, BBQ Ranch Chicken Focaccia, and Courthouse Melt. All were delicious. I chose the melt because I wanted a crab cake and this melt had it! Our friend ordered the wrap because of the chipotle ranch. The crab bisque was also very good. read more

Not only are they golden brown, hot, bite-sized,... they don't put too much salt on them!!! They taste amazing! I was trying to eat a little healthier so I ordered a house salad (i think - it's the one with kalamatas and feta) and it was great! The house greek dressing is wonderful, not too much not too little. Lettuce and tomatoes super fresh. I like the layout too--it feels accessible for all as I watched a wheelchair be pushed through. The middle of the afternoon is surprisingly peaceful and pleasant between lunch and dinner rushes. The big windows display the weather outside. It started raining not long after we got there and ceased before we left. Staff is helpful, kind, courteous and friendly, especially to each other. There are many desserts on display... But we were full! Multiple fruit pies and rice pudding. For those who don't know, the Hamilton began sponsoring our NYE events a few years ago. I'm extremely grateful for what they've invested into the community, though they were already a huge staple of our town. I don't venture out to this part of town and eat here enough, but as long as my son has a say, we're always going to come back here!

It comes with two on buns and a side. The cole slaw was a gentle compliment to such a heavy meal. To drink, I ordered their cherry Coke. They make it themselves with Coca Cola and cherry syrup. One thing worth noting is that it's cash only. There's an ATM inside, but it didn't work for me. The staff were trusting enough to let me go to another one and come back to settle my bill.

This is in an old KFC building and they did a good job of redecorating it with even some nods to KFC. The server was attentive and stopped by a couple of times once I got my food. A quick search later and I realized it was only 20 minutes from home. I immediately grabbed a friend and requested a dinner date for the item that caught my eye: the Bratwurst mit Kraut -- bratwurst cooked with apples and sauerkraut, served on a pretzel bun and topped with even more kraut, with a side of German potato salad ($12). But I'll admit... I was also eyeing their Obatzda Burger with Oktoberfest beer cheese. Feeling bold, I asked our waitress if I could order their regular Pretzel Braid appetizer ($9) but swap the usual cheez-wiz and spicy mustard for that dreamy Oktoberfest beer cheese instead. She paused, smiled, wrote it down, and said, "that sounds really good!" Bless the chef for making my pretzel + beer cheese fantasy come true. The pretzel braid was warm, soft, and perfectly salty, and that beer cheese was the real MVP -- smooth, melty, not too hot, and with a proper beer-cheese finish. When the bratwurst plate arrived, it was a showstopper. Juicy brat, tangy kraut piled high, and tucked inside a pretzel roll that was soft but sturdy enough to hold it all together. No mustard needed! The German potato salad surprised me, though -- I'm used to the warm version, so finding it chilled caught me off guard. But honestly? It worked.
