A couple of old school video games available and a pool table we used. Interesting mix of neighborhood people and students visit here. There are 3 bars on 3 of the 4 corners of that intersection so it is convenient. We walked here from Jake and Snakes and then kept going to St. Charles to catch the trolly. I walk by this place all the time on my way to get food or when walking the dog, but I finally had a chance to go in. What an amazing neighborhood joint! Probably my favorite for a multi-block radius. Had a bunch of out of town relatives in and I was looking for a place that didn't feel like yet another college dive bar, and this was a great after-dinner spot to visit. Lots of locals, not as many crazy college kids, good seating, a pool table, and great drink options and prices. We had several tabs open and yet somehow between the 8 of us, we drank for hours and no one spent more than $20 pre-tip. The servers were all crazy friendly and had great drink ideas for us, and there's a cigarette machine, which if that just didn't send me back to my childhood, I don't know what would. Overall, a great vibe for a divey/neighborhood bar. Definitely a great place to hang out without being too loud or obnoxious if you really want to chat with the people you're with. read more

G-E-O-R-G-I-A! GOOOOOO DAWGS! That's really all you need to know about this place. During college football season you can just refer to this place as the Dawg House. We fill the place with all the Nola resident UGA fans. Aside from that it's a pretty chill spot. There are quite a few TVs both inside and on the back patio. The drink specials are always nice. They don't serve food but the are surrounded by businesses that do and they totally don't mind you bringing any in. Redd's is the perfect neighborhood bar. The decor is classic wood and brick that has a real comfortable feel. On Friday's during the season they boil crawfish and they have a great recipe. The price is fair market value or better and worth every penny. The staff are polite and attentive. I highly recommend this tavern. read more

Redd's is a brand new bar occupying the space that was once Bruno's and was more recently Rocco's. Redd's is significantly different from Rocco's. In fact, when I walked into Redd's for the first time a couple days after they opened, I had to check and make sure I was in the right place. The bar looked the same, but the crowd averaged probably 30 years older than when it was Rocco's. That wasn't a bad thing as the bar had a noticeably more calm atmosphere. I didn't see one drunk passed out at a table, nor did I see any overly intoxicated guys hitting on a girl barely old enough to drink. What I did see were adults standing around enjoying their drinks. Redd's had a reasonably good selection of beer, including Mickey's. I found the prices to be somewhat higher than I expected, but my guess is they want the older, more affluent crowd. The staff were very friendly, and service was prompt. I just wish that I could one day walk into this location and feel like I fit in. I really like the space, but I am either way too old, or way too young. Either way, I am sure I will be back. read more

I stayed in the neighborhood during my visit to Nola. We stopped in here for a late night bite and to finish watching the NCAA championship game. It's a college bar so lots of the students from the nearby universities were there. I ordered the hot wings and they were FIRE along with sweet potato fries. The female bartender there was sweet and was very accommodating. If we stay in this area again I would definitely stop in here. read more

I want to preface this review by stating that I love a nice empty dive bar. Cheap drinks + no one around to hassle me = one happy Katie. Now, this bar isn't always empty (I went there for trivia once and it was pretty full), but it's never abundantly crowded. They have awesome specials and friendly bartenders, a couple of restaurants nearby that you can get take out from, and lots of tvs to watch sports. It's on Maple Street near a couple of college-y bars, but it doesn't have that vibe. Old fogeys for the win! I like this place for what it has to offer for a bar patron of my particular tastes. If you share those tastes, this experience will be awesome. If you don't, I'm the first to admit it will suck. But it's worth a try. read more

I went to this bar and bought multiple drinks as well as tipped. I then left and went to the bar across the street and shortly after went back to redds to use the restroom because the restroom in the bar I went was out of order. I walk into redds use the restroom and go to meet my friends outside. As I'm leaving the reds bouncer stops me and tells me I must purchase a drink in order to leave the bar. I explain I have bought several drinks and was simply using the restroom. He then intimidatingly said your not leaving unless you purchase a drink where I then proceeded to tell him this is unlawful. After minutes of convincing he finally let me leave after intense argument. Threatening a paying customer is not anyway to run a business. This bar is cheap and obviously is willing to take advantage of customers. The only reason I'm giving it a star is because the bar tender was very kind. Terrible experience. Unlawful interaction. My friends and I will never be returning. read more

When I walked into this place the first time, it was as if Doc Brown had fired up the Delorean and kicked this baby all the way to October 21st, 2015 and took every kid from Rocco's with it. In other words, this place went from being a college kid bar to being an old man bar in the matter of maybe a week. Trippy, man. In all seriousness, this bar wasn't too bad. Before, it was a not so great college bar and now it's a "finding it's sea legs" older person bar (which is right up my alley). I've got a special place in my heart for this old joint that was Bruno's for most of its existence as I attended many a good rugby party here and did nude Zulu Warrior ceremonial jogs around the block on multiple occasions. Things have certainly changed since this place got nastier when this bar became Rocco's and now waaay too calm and grey haired as Redd's. I think we need to bring a rugby party back to this joint and reclaim our old bar! read more

One of my favorite bars! It's one of those hole-in-the-wall places with some great drink specials, an eclectic clientele and phenomenal trivia night every Thursday. I love this place especially because the owner, bartenders, and even the trivia master himself really get to know you and learn your name and what you're up to in your life. I was originally turned onto this place about a year ago when a friend of mine invited me to join her trivia team there (she's in the service industry and knows a lot of the folks that frequent there). A year later I'm a seasoned trivia veteran and even had the honor of having a special science round made for me for my birthday (since I'm a scientist by day), so I'm incredibly biased. The trivia can get a bit raunchy/not politically correct, especially when concerning the team names, so go, have a good time, and laugh at the bad humor. The clientele sometimes consist of a bunch of lumberjack, scrappy looking guys, but don't let them scare you, they're teddy bears (except when you beat them at trivia! ;) ). Plus, I'm always pro free food and Greg serves up mean jambalaya and red beans and rice and other food for free during trivia nights! So cancel your plans this Thursday night at 7 and come out and show us what you got! read more

First time being here. It was a nice place but empty. Had one old man sitting in there, then us two 40 somethings, then another old man. That was it. We came during happy hour, basically waiting for Snake and Jakes to open up so we came here to kill some time. Beer selection was nice, Magic Hat, Fat Tire, Blue Moon, etc. Prices were ok too. Lotsa dark woods and a few TVs and a lonely but attractive bartender that was very nice. Nothing bad to say about this place other than it was kinda dead. I guess I must have spoken too soon about this place and it has now gotten to the point where we will never return. That past few times we have come we have had the same bartender. I am a beer drinker so that can never really get messed up. But my boyfriend loves his mixed drinks. After ordering a variety of mixed drinks, all with different Liquors and mixers, it was clear that the bartender was putting hardly any liquor and we were basically ordering an OJ or a pineapple juice or a coke. It was pretty ridiculous. And I bartend from time to time. He hardly did half a pour for a drink in a pint glass. Stopped in for drinks on a Saturday afternoon. Place has a neighborhood divey bar feel to it. Has a very big footprint, lots of televisions with sports playing. Also has pool and darts. Taps are pretty generic and lack any local feel to the assortment (they may have had one regional beer in their 10 tap offerings). Prices for drafts were reasonable for a neighborhood bar and it looked like they had decent specials and happy hour pricing. If you are in the area, not a bad place to stop in for a pint. read more

Redd's always feels to me like an English village pub or something, except when it's full of Tulane students: the music isn't too loud, the regulars seem to know each other, but they're nice to strangers. I came here a couple of months ago for a World Cup game viewing, and full disclosure, my dad died of lung cancer, so any place that allows smoking can be no better than 2 stars in my book. It is absolutely noisome, and there are a bunch of smoke free places where you can watch sports in the Uptown/Black Pearl area that are way better. Apart from the smoke issue, it's an average bar at best. There are a couple of TVs with a menu that doesn't offer anything special in terms of drinks or food, however you can bring in food from outside. If you're into cheap beer specials and stale, noxious air, this is the place for you. read more

There are drink specials every night and it's never too crowded. I enjoy watching sports at this bar more so than others. On Sundays there's just about any game you can ask for on any TV there, and they'll put on any game you want! Cullen the bartender is amazing and does great trivia rounds with awesome prizes. Terrible place with an even worse owner!!! As a former veteran I was deeply offended when my wife and I over heard the owner saying some horrible things about veterans. It took every ounce of energy for me not to lose my temper!! But we left instead to go across the street to much better bar in Bruno's. We just moved into the neighborhood about a year ago. We had been going to Bruno's across the street (with our ex-pat New York Jet fan group), but recently started going to Redd's for Saints games. Very friendly local crowd, feels like home! Older crowd (i.e. less students) and probably 80-90% locals. Very friendly staff, great drink prices and specials. Added bonus: since they don't sell food, they don't mind if you bring your own in. Last Sunday, we went out and got a couple PoBoys from a place three doors down and brought in to have with our drinks while watching game. read more
