I had the frozen eggnog, and it was the absolute strongest frozen drink I've ever had. It was so tasty and for such a good value All of their other signature drinks seemed super yummy as well

This isn't a bad little hangout. If I lived in the area, I would definitely give it more stars, but since it's a little out of the way and not really worth the drive time, 3 stars it is. This dimly lit bar caters mostly to neighborhood folks. The bar is a good size and the crowd is lively and fun. When I went, I didn't stay very long but I see that there is a nice group of regulars that hang out here. The bar was pretty smoky, but since the smoking ban kicks in on April 22nd, that's not a huge issue. I'd come back if I were in the area, but I would go out of my way.

Excellence in mid-city!! Great drafts including locals and Magic Hat! YUM!!! AWESOME BARTENDERS!!! Great artwork on the walls, friendly faces at the bar. Delicious food on special occasions. This is an awesome addition to the midcity bar circle!!

It's right on the Canal streetcar line, but far enough away from the Quarter to be an oasis for locals.

Yet, it seems quite popular with locals and was fairly full for a Tuesday Trivia Night. I ordered a Pimm's cup since Pimm's was on the shelf - the bartender looked confused and told me they don't have any of the ingredients to make one. I changed my order to a flavored vodka - they don't stock any. I ended up ordering a Vodka & 7, but received a Vodka Soda. Were the drinks cheap? Not so much. Was the service friendly? Not so much. I ordered food hoping this was the redeeming feature of the bar. I ordered a steak sandwich at $18 - the service time was quick but the sandwich didn't have much flavor - it was a dry, difficult to bite through thin steak with not much flavor to speak of. The tater tots were crispy and hot and I loved the Brussel Sprouts; they were doused excessively in the dressing but I liked it. There is a nice patio out back - they had fans in this area which is always appreciated. This bar just didn't have the stock and amenities that many other bars in the area do have . Walk to magazine street for better options.

Food 3.5/5 Service 4/5…read moreAmbiance 4.5/5 I was visiting New Orleans for the weekend, and being tired from a flight in, I wanted something close to the hotel. My friends picked a spot, and we went - and we had no regrets. There was one man running the whole kitchen the night we came in, and he was doing great, although he was very busy. Food came out great, my friends had the "Badass Burger" which they all praised, especially the fresh fries. I personally had the Hot 8 Sampler and a simple Bacon Quesadilla - and those were no slouch either. If I had anything to complain about, it's that the price is a little high for the food you get. Though, that's to be expected so close to the convention center in a dive like this. Overall, my friends and I had a great experience - and we'd all be happy to come back.

We saw this guy LaTrez and his openers were really funny too. The drinks here were super cheap, only like $6 and damn near everybody in the audience was black, which I prefer because there's so many Caucasian Americans in the bay area these days and sometimes the comedy there can reflect that but the comedy here felt relatable. My top recommendation would be to come a little bit earlier if you wanna get a good seat, but honestly, even the seats in the back weren't bad because it's not a large venue. I would definitely return for a comedy show while I'm in town and would hit up Ernst Cafe for their Creole nachos after.
