Our ghost tour meeting point was in the voodoo lounge bar. They have a special buy one get one free Hurricane for people who's in the tour. The drink was great, bartender was awesome. Atmosphere was dark and mysterious

Great bar in a quieter part of downtown -- right at the edge of a huge park. We came by as we did a ghost tour, where this was the meeting spot. It's a great spot -- decorated to be spooky! Super cheap and delicious drinks. We tried the hurricane here, and got a BOGO for $14! The drink was strong and quite sweet. It came in a cup that you got to keep -- which made for a nice and easy souvenir. Service was fast and friendly.

This dive bar is a little too grungey for my taste, but it's a personal thing. The bartender was really sassy to one of the customers, calling them out publicly for not knowing where to order. It wasn't even directed at me, but I felt a bit of secondhand embarrassment for the customer. Just kind of not my vibe because I found it a bit mean spirited even though it may have been lighthearted. Hurricane comes out of giant dispensers. We were only here because it was a meeting point for the French Quarter Phantoms tour, and I will say the BOGO hurricanes deal was nice.

Cool dive bar in NOLA. We only happened to find it because a meetup for a ghost walking tour was there. The bartender was insanely fast and accurate. They don't serve food, only beers, wines, cocktails and of course, Hurricanes!

Like others have mentioned, this is pretty much a small, hole in the wall dive bar located across from Louis Armstrong Park. While waiting for a tour to start, my husband and I got some drinks and met some cool people. The ambiance is really chill, queer-friendly, the bartender was attentive and quick, and the walls have pretty cool features/decor to check out. Important to note: no food, just drinks. My only complaint was the not great condition of the bathroom (really wet..a bit gross), but honestly..it's pretty typical for a busy bar like this.

Wolfy was an AMAZING tour guide! his energy was unmatched, my friends and i had a great time regardless of the rain :) would recommend!

A fine little dive bar outside of Armstrong Park. Cold drinks and a place to get out of the sun and heat. Your standard beer and cocktails; the Cucumber Gose hit the spot. Budget friendly. Check out the wall art in the back room for a little voodoo vibe.

Cool place. Bartenders were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend. They have a watermelon container filled with a watermelon drink which was excellent.

Fun place to start out in for the ghost tours. The tour and bar were organized. The buy one get one hurricanes were worth it if you like spiced rum. The drinks come in souvenir cups.

    Outside the Voodoo Lounge

We came to Voodoo Lounge because it was the meeting place to go on our haunted ghost and vampire walking tour one night during our vacation. They offered two for one on there sweet tasty hurricanes. Loads of DVDs were piled on shelves, and at least three or four televisions were playing fun stuff like Scooby Doo episodes or Point Break starring Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves. I love when bars have their own unique flavor to them by adding personalized touches like playing oldies like that on the boob tube instead of just televised sports. The place started filling up as the time to leave for the walking tour approached. Eventually there were around 30 people standing around the bar. It seems like if you hung out at the voodoo lounge possibly a few times a day groups of 30 people would appear and disappear in a half an hour get ready to leave and meet. Seems kind of fun get a good seat at the bar and experience that for a few hours as the crowds come and go. Good times!

2-for-1 hurricanes before the ghost and vampire tour.

The presentation of the food came was amazing. We ordered the linguine and added meatballs, which was well worth it. We also ordered the shrimp & grits, which included Brussels sprouts. Boy, it was sure nice to get some vegetables in my stomach after eating all that yummy fried food during our stay! All in all, both dishes were delicious. It is a little on the pricey side, but after several days of eating in the touristy area of the French Quarter, this was truly a welcome change. Service was polite and attentive. I always appreciate the staff's efforts by making simply making eye contact and smiling (which they did). Seems trivial but I think those small things says a lot about a business. I would recommend this restaurant even if you are not a guest of the hotel.

The ambiance is amazing, plus velvet, emerald and sapphire tone, glitzy, and feels like a good photo op. The bar and cocktail menu looked expansive. However, I was going to be hopping on a meeting, so I could not partake, unfortunately. A group got this impressive tower of espresso martini and everyone seemed to be enjoying their drinks! I wanted that New Orleans seafood but had late lunch, so I opted for just the crispy gulf shrimp on cheesy grits. I really wished I can hungrier because the dish ended up being very heavy. The shrimp were nice and crispy. The charred Brussels sprouts gave me the false sense that this was a healthy dish because I was getting my veggie intake. The bacon jam was sweet and went well with the Brussels sprouts. I loved the combination of the cheesy grits and the Crystal hot sauce. It was the perfect amount of both and some how led me to understand why Americans put hot sauce on their Mac n cheese and some other cheesy dishes after 30 years of not really understanding the attraction to that combo. I got the marinated olives to go so I could have a little snack later. They were just stuff I feel I could get in a jar... not really sure if I could justify the price. I think this is a fine place if you're looking for a photogenic night out drinking with a group of friends. Could be really cute for brunch!

The bar has a bartender, not mixologist, who makes drinks that I can make better at home. The little drinks are served un-garnished in tiny plastic cups and cost $15+. Not to mention they will take whatever tip amount they like out if you forget to close your tab. So my basic plastic cup of lemon, sugar, and a splash of vodka (I can't even call it a lemon drop) was $20. I wish I had taken a photo of how tiny the cups are.

Yes, I learned some things about the culture and people of New Orleans and I got a few good pictures but I wouldn't recommend this at all. I thought the mini story in the elevator was fun, short of course but they need to restructure this place I honestly was unimpressed. The website suggest it takes an hour and a half to experience the whole place, we walked the whole place, took pictures, watched 2 videos in well under an hour and a half.
