Unbelievable Bargains! While chatting with some girlfriends recently I learned about a hot new upscale consignment store in Bethesda. I HAD to check it out. I made the trip to Reddz last week and immediately fell in love with the place: Prices are very reasonable and the selections are great. They have a variety of shoes, accessories, and purses too! The store is very well organized and the merchandise, although used, appears to be in great shape. They have dressing rooms so you're able to try on your fabulous finds. They also buy used clothing with the option of getting cash or store credit (a slightly higher amount than the cash option). No appointment necessary to sell your stuff. Most of things I spotted in the store were designer: Juicy Couture Chanel Louis Vuitton tons of BCBG and DKNY too I left with an Express dress and an adorable pair of Aldo shoes, both for $22! I love to shop; On my lunch breaks I'll walk over there to window shop or purchase stuff. There are some good deals then some bad deals. I hated when I went there to sale about 15 pairs of shoes they didn't like NOT ONE of them! The owner with the red hair would always tell the (gay dude) to come up with a price or ask him what he thought! For what? He's not a Fashionista in my EYES! I had a Burberry trenchcoat and called to see if Reddz had notional interest. The representative advised me to bring it in to the store for an inspection. Three days later I made the trip; waited 20 minutes; and was told they were not taking Burberry coats. It would have been nice to know that before wasting a trip! It's one thing to turn down a coat because of condition, but another to waste travel time....... I'm done! read more

I got a cool cuff bracelet (way overpriced but it was unique) and an awesome dress there. The unique finds made up for an incredibly rude and snotty staff member. I wanted to see one of the designer handbags that was locked up in a cabinet, so I asked a man (he has longish hair; I think he's a manager or owner) to help me. He was arranging clothes and seemed offended that I'd even asked him for anything. He went, 'One of the girls over there can help you with that,' and walked off. I couldn't believe it.... It was close to closing by the time I was ready to check out, and their internet connection was down, so they couldn't process credit card transactions. I told them that I didn't have any cash on me and asked where I could find a nearby ATM. That same long-haired guy goes, 'I have NO idea where an ATM is. Anyway, we close at 6, so....' This guy was not trying to be open one minute past 6 PM, I guess. He didn't offer to hold the item or help me out in any way even though it was the store's fault that I was unable to complete my purchase. I might check out the store again just because there are some good finds, but I'll avoid that guy at all costs. He totally ruined the experience for me. read more

I've attempted to sells things here a few times...each time I leave frustrated as they don't take any of the barely worn name brand items I bring in. Instead they only want designer brands, in any condition. I walked through the store and found multiple items missing buttons, holes and pulls but still at full price. And to top it off they severely overprice every single thing in there. You won't be getting a deal of any kind. Not worth your time! read more

So I decided to give this place a try! I always consign with Mustard Seed and have only gone to this location to shop two times in the past. I had my appointment with Mustard Seed and of course, there were numerous nice items they didn't take. I decided to see if this location would accept any of the items just so I would have to lug everything back into my house. Now, these were some top notch items that Mustard Seed wouldn't accept, I was quite shocked-they are very selective but I understand and can appreciate that being a buyer. So I dragged my stuff on over and the one great thing, you don't need an appointment-no need to bother going on a website and having to wait two wks or more to consign your items. I walked right in, was greeted at the door and the employees had smiles on their faces-thank you for the great customer service. The process was very simple, you fill out a form, look around and shop while they decide what they want from you. As I mentioned before, I felt I had some nice pieces and they brought ten items from me that Mustard Seed passed on! Pretty good deals here too, it's much bigger than Mustard Seed, so much more to sort through but it's all worth it-a lot of brand name designers. Huge selection of designer shoes and bags and plenty of clothes, everything was sized, thank goodness! The only catch is, you have two payout options which are cash or a gift card for the store-this information is also very clear on the website so there was no surprises. Now, you get more money if you accept the store gift card, they want your business! So truly, I cleaned out my closets and my goal was to have money for the weekend but I decided to take the store card, I made more money and that way, when I need something to wear in the future, I will be coming here to get it and not spending any money out if my pocket! I recommend giving this place a try! If Mustard Seed is your store of choice and you feel you have nice items that they didn't take, then try here, it's just a brief walk up the street. I would also suggest giving this place a try when you need something affordable, unique and cute to wear! I will definitely be back in the future to consign and buy! It's worth it! I'm referring to the Georgetown (DC) branch here. I went there a few times and bought items, and every time I felt like they had a sort of attitude that made me feel uncomfortable. Let's say if you spend less than $20, they will snort and barely say "goodbye". This morning I gave it another chance- I went there to sell a few good pieces (a Gucci bag, Italian Moschino trousers and Guess jeans, all like new, trousers never worn), and the lady simply discharged me with a snob look saying "I won't take any of these", staring at me like I brought some awful things. Let me be clear- it's not mandatory to buy clothes if they are not interested (I will certainly sell them elsewhere), but it is mandatory to be POLITE and NICE to customers, and at least offer some explanation, or a more laid back shopping environment. This is not a high end boutique, after all. They sell used stuff!! I won't go there again and wouldn't suggest it, if you are looking for a relaxing shopping experience, there are better places to go. read more

I LOVE this store! It has the best selection of edgy trends at reasonable prices. They also carry an incredible selection of designer goods like St John, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada. The handbags are to die for and the shoes can go either way. I found a never worn pair of Pradas for next to nothing and a sweet Tiffany necklace during one trip. I have a hard time going anywhere else because there is always something nused I like when I stop in. I've bought everything from an $8 dress to a $2,000 Neiman Marcus mink coat (originally $9,000). The staff is laid back and leaves you alone while you shop. If you need help or an opinion on what you are trying on I appreciate their candid honesty. Bethesda needed a store like this. As someone who lives and works in Bethesda, I love that i don't have to trek all the way to GTown for my fashionable finds. Thumbs up for sure. read more

For selling- I first sold clothes at reddz about 2 years ago, and my first time was fantastic. They took most of my stuff (mid level brand names, cole haan, Trina Turk,etc) the process was painless and fair. I've been burned now 3 times since then, and I'm done. The 1st time they didn't take anything, I thought ok, no big deal, it didn't work out. The 2nd time I hauled several bags of stuff up there only to be told they were only taking fall, so they took a purse and that was it. Keep in mind this was late June/early July. Their explanation was that they need several months to turn the inventory over, and that's their prerogative, however it seems pretty early to stop taking summer clothes in late June, especially when they make such a big deal about only buying clothes in season. I did check the website before I went and it did say fall, but since it was so early I incorrectly assumed the website must not have been updated, so I will take responsibility there. Back home I went with all my clothes. Took 3 bags of stuff up today, making sure they were all fall clothes, and if 3 entire bags they took 2 items. I'm not even worried about the amount they gave me for them because honestly something is better than nothing, which is what I would get from donating them, but come on. I asked the woman why she only took 2 things (and not in a smart alecky way, I was honestly curious) and she didnt really have an answer for me. She very generally told me a lot of it was outdated, which was interesting because the 2 things they took were both more than 3 years old and they didn't take more current items I brought. I was also told they don't take suits, which doesn't make sense because they sell blazers and they sell pants, so it seems to me that they do take suits they just don't sell them as suits, they sell them as separates. Their process is inconsistent, and it's not worth it to me to haul my stuff up there anymore only to have to haul it back. For buying- they really need to figure out who their market is. It's not clear to me if they're targeting the hipster suburban crowd, or a more sophisticated, older crowd, or the early 20's/teenager crowd. Figuring this out would probably solve the selling inconsistencies as well. As for prices, unless you know what you're looking at, it's easy to over pay here. For instance, I can't bring myself to pay 40 for a dress that is the inc brand from macys that I know probably sold new on sale from macys for 25. I've gotten a good deal on some lilly pulitzer, but that's about it. Long story short, it's not worth the hassle to sell here and if you're local it wouldn't hurt to pop in and see what they have every now and then, but it isn't worth a special trip. read more

Stopped by here for some retail therapy after a disappointing doctors appointment but left unsatisfied. (Maybe I need real therapy?) They have a large selection, arranged by sleeve length, color and size, and the excellent organization of the store is what kept me in there. Unfortunately most of the items were high priced for what they were - 10 dollars for a second-hand Forever21 shirt? I could probably find it cheaper new. Same with many of the items they sold. However they did have a selection of higher end items which were a better deal when compared to their original prices. The service was lacking, no one offered to help me although I didn't ask for help either. Overall a pretty plain experience, nothing outstanding yet nothing terrible. I might be back. read more

I've come here 4 times to buy and/or sell clothes. The store itself is decent and has a large selection, but the employees are a real turn off. I don't appreciate the way they disdainfully pluck through my clothes or act bothered when they need to hush their personal conversations to do their jobs.Won't be going back as there are many other consignments in the area to choose from, but hopefully these people will get a lesson in customer service. I L-O-V-E LOVE THIS PLACE! What a great idea to start a resale store like this. I always shopped at Mustard Seed but 9/10 time i walked out with nothing. Every time i go into Reddz i by at least two things! They have everything from Prada to Betsey Johnson to Target Bands. You can tell that everything in the store was carefully looked over and selected! THE DRESSES don't even get me started! First of all they have every size to fit every size girl!( For some of us who have a little more junk in the trunk) The shirts average between $9-18. There are a lot of complaints on here about over priced designer! I have to say I disagree! There are these really cute Marc Jocob shoes there that are only $50!! Thats a steal right there! There are so many more finds like that. I understand how someone could think it was pricey but you have to know your designers and realize that $50 for Marc Jocobs is what i call SHOPPING CARMA! The one of the other things i love so much about Reddz vs MS is that I can bring in my clothes no appointment necessary! Although sometimes it can be a little bit of a wait ( 15-20 min) its better then having to make an apt. I tried making one at MS and there were booked for months!! That when I loaded my car and ran right over to Reddz! The Customer Services in amazing! The friendliest people! They are always ready to help you find an outfit or give an option! Everytime I walk in I am immediately asked How are you? with a big warm smile on there face. I asked this one girl who worked there if she could find me some cute flats in my size and quickly she was off though the store finding things for me! I loved it! ! Super dismissive staff. I went in looking for a gift for my wife. It's not clear which rack has what, so I was looking throughout a few racks. I did have one employee say hi as he continued doing what he had going on. That's fine, maybe he was working with another customer or doing some sort of project. The woman at the register doesn't even look up from the screen, but I was approached by another employee. She asked if she might be able to help. I explain what I'm looking for and she sort of seems like she's no longer interested and begins to walk off as she's telling me that what I'm asking for isn't too crazy, and says she just usually has more time to think about it. She says what I'm looking for may be on their designer rack. Since it wasn't clear which was their designer rack, and she's walking away while talking to me, I thought she was about to show me said rack. She was actually walking away to go about her day and starts talking to another employee. I decide to try to figure out which rack she may have been talking about, but things didn't seem to be in any particular order (the store is pretty clean, though). I ask the woman at the register if the rack I'm pointing to is their designer rack. She briefly looks at the rack and says, "I think so, because there's a Burberry jacket on it". She goes right back to looking at her screen. The employee that initially said hi, just walks up to the rack as he looks for something and walks off. I don't need anyone to follow behind me or try to suck up to me, but I do think the customer service could certainly be better here. They would have had a sale if I could have just gotten a little help. This is coming from someone who has worked retail in the past. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. I live and work about half a mile away from Reddz, which is dangerous!! I've both bought and sold clothes here many, many times and had nothing but good experiences. Selling to a place like Reddz or Mustardseed can be disappointing sometimes when your clothes aren't taken, but that is par for the course when you look at the quantity of designer and non-designer items they've got here. The stock changes every day, so every day, you can find another unique gem! All the employees are very, very nice.. and one of them makes awesome playlists for the store. Make sure you have a couple of hours on-hand to spend! And thanks, Reddz, for half my wardrobe. read more

Mananegrer Lindsey is sweet and helpful but the owner is so bad. they put 16 dollars value on my Louis Vuitton postal handbag which was in great shape and unbelievable cheap judgement. They have hardly designer pieces cause of my stuff they had a lot of stuff recently but so sad that they do not even appreciate the good designers and keep buying junk and sell for triple of the value. The store layout is inspiring because you get the feeling that you are going to find a fabulous deal that you can't wait to add to your wardrobe... but after looking through a few racks I started to think okay...there's definitely a mix of merchandise. Designer, mall store clothes, and independent labels. Either way, I walked away with a stretch ring and some other arm candy accesory. I tired on a bunch of a clothes here, including a pair of dress boots. I walked out empty-handed. The clothes I tried on looked nice but they just didn't fit quite right. The employees are helpful and attentive, and the store is clean. They have a lot of merchandise so it can take a lot of time to go through the racks if you're just browsing. The style they carry is mostly time-honored classics. Not trendy, not vintage, not fuddy duddy, just simply good classics. You know, for work, or...a night at the opera or theater. But I think they are a bit on the high side of pricing. I'll be sticking with Marshalls/Ross and department stores (think Macy's, Lord&Taylor, maybe JC Penney) instead of this place. read more

As many others have noted, the staff of this shop don't seem to understand that they are employees, and we are clients. The staff here would serve as prime examples to use in employee training videos of how NOT to treat other human beings. As they ignored certain clients based on their biased impressions, they sat around chatting amongst themselves about wanting to get a business card of another client who walked in earlier, who seemed to be "connected" to a particular industry (film?). Rather unprofessional behavior, methinks, and it's a shame that the client that was being ignored had connections to this industry as well, isn't it? In this day and age, it is unfortunate that basic customer service seems to have eluded this shop. The selection here is not at all impressive, so it seems they don't have much going for them. Spend your money elsewhere. There are other businesses that have excellent stock, and staff that are professional, communicate well, and treat all clients with respect. read more

I walk by this store every day and never stopped in until today! I was extremely impressed with the selection of designer pieces and the fabulous price points! I scored 3 pairs of Theory pants, Theory blazer, Burberry skirt, and a new Express skirt for under $150! Unbelievable! For that price, I couldn't even get ONE pair of Theory pants at the mall! i LOVE this place. go all the time to sell stuff. Great selection, great staff. super prices and nice space to browse and try things on. my only complaint: why don't they buy or sell clothes, size 10 and up? i know that the women shopping there are this size so i am so baffled by the fact that they regularly reject larger sizes and don't have anything past size 8 in jeans. would buy more if they had larger sizes...really, ladies, do we need to perpetuate the myth that we are all supposed to weigh 95 pounds until we die? read more

The busier the store gets, the better the selection of items, and that seems to be the trend. I have shopped in the store at least 10 times, and the service is polite and appropriate. I've sold once, and that was a pleasure, not an exercise in embarrassment, as it can be elsewhere. Good luck to this gem of a shop. SLEAZY is my impression. I took new condition designer boots and formal wear to be priced for their potential purchase. The price they offered me was significantly less than their stated policy of 30% of their selling price. For example, I brought in 2 pairs of boots that were selling online for $250 each according to them. They offered me $45 for the 2 pair of boots AND 2 new designer evening dresses. They wouldn't allow me to look at them viewing my items as they appraised them, and the patent leather boots I brought in had smears all over them after they handled them. The process was weird, insulting and dishonest. They appeared to be profiling me. I don't recommend attempting to sell them anything. It's a waste of time. I don't recommend you giving them your business either. I certainly won't. read more

LOVE them! My mom and I go all the time to their Georgetown location, and I was just as impressed with their Bethesda spot. Not only do they have a fantastic selection of VERY well-priced clothing and jewelry, but I received the best customer service I've ever had while shopping. While in the dressing room I broke a pair of Chanel earrings that I'd received as a graduation present (and purchased at their Georgetown location) and without a second thought, the owner, Wendy, looked at them and said "Give them to me, I'm going to take care of getting them fixed, I have a guy that can fix anything" and a few days later I received a phone call to pick them up (in perfect condition). If you are trying to sell your High ended designer Handbags to Reddz Trading, my suggestion is "Try somewhere else, sell them on Ebay, or just keep it". The reason why i'm saying that is i was trying to sell couple of my authentic high ended designer bag to them, they offer me a low ball price. A $2000 worth high ended designer bag with original tag in very good condition, they offer me $150. Which i will only get $45, you received 30% of whatever listing price they offer you if they decided to purchase your item. Also, they didn't want to buy my other authentic bag like Louis Vuitton, Gucci bag, cuz they said my bags were in such as a "Bad" condition, which is untrue. They might not be brand new, but they were still in good condition with little worn, like a tiny scratches. And i took my bags to other consignment store in Dupont Circle, DC to check how much they worth. The lady who work in that consignment store in DC told me that she is willing to consign them for me, plus she says they were all still in very good condition. I don't think i will ever sale my authentic high ended designer bag to Reddz Trading again.They have no taste of fashion what so ever, they do not know how to price an item, let's just put it this way, they have no idea what they were doing. Seriously, a authentic high ended designer bag original paid $2000, they have a nerve to offer me $150 price, which i only get 30% of it = $45. Are they out of their mind??? I don't expect to make money out of it buy selling my bags, but at least offer me a fair price. It's make no sense at all. Didn't think that the entire pile of about 20+ Fall pieces I brought in would be rejected. I went last Fall with clothing from the same variety of name brands that WEREN'T JCrew, Chanel or Gucci but were from NY&Co, Merona (yes, that's from Target), and other brands. Tags and original prices with values of $60+ were still attached to the items and a good few were accepted including Gap, Express, American Eagle Outfitters, etc. Today, different story. Guess name brands count more than whether they're condition is practically new or in season. Messed up part of it is, the sales associate's tone with me and others looking to sell wasn't friendly. Furthermore, I walked out of there feeling low and embarrassed for bringing clothing that was not of JCrew standards or higher? What the heck does that even mean? Provide a more exact list and explanation to sellers so they don't waste their time and end up having a humiliating experience. Thanks! read more
