    Seasonal Iced Latte
    Lauren M.

The seasonal syrup is lemon something, and let me tell you - it's PHENOMENAL! This is the best iced latte I've had in a while, so kudos to the very kind barista who encouraged me to try it. I will be back for it again and to take advantage of their adorable patio!

This place is super cute and comfortable. The latte was amazing and the blueberry scone was delicious. Served nice and warm straight to the table. It's a nice place to have coffee with friends or just sit and enjoy your good book.

The morning of our event there was snow on the ground, and Danielle, one of the owners, personally called early to confirm everything was still on. She shoveled herself out and drove in from New Jersey to make sure the coffee bar was set up and ready. That level of dedication and professionalism truly stood out. The coffee bar itself was a huge hit. They offered espresso drinks, cappuccinos, flavored lattes, oat milk options, and iced selections -- all made fresh to order. The quality was excellent and truly café-level, not just standard event coffee. The iced lattes were especially popular with our guests. The setup was polished and professional, the baristas were friendly and efficient, and it added such a fun, elevated touch to the brunch. If you're planning a wedding event, shower, or special celebration, I highly recommend Beans & Leaves. Exceptional service, delicious coffee, and a team that genuinely cares about your event.

So good! This is what I'd expect of a Staten Island local favorite. First off, the ambiance is…read morelow-key. Upon entering, I saw customers of all ages. One table had a group of senior women catching up; another of two kids enjoying their waffles; and a third of a customer enjoying her solitude with a book in hand. Interestingly, even with the low music, the acoustics made it difficult to hear the person I was with. There was so much chatter in the space! Still, I enjoyed my time. This was my first visit, so I asked the cashier what he'd recommend for toasts. What was suggested were the avocado toast or the ricotta with fig jam and arugula toast. I went for the latter! I paired it with a hibiscus/cranberry tea called Angel Fall Mist, apparently a fav among customers. All in all, the meal was delish!!! The fig jam was not too sweet and was complemented well by the ricotta cheese. $9 for the toast plus tax came out to $10.89. The tea total was $3.27. Pretty affordable, I'd say! If you're in the neighborhood, I highly recommend it!

The photos look like they could be from there, but maybe way back in the most vital days of NYC Stapleton was on the map with such a trendy place. One can only hope someone has such a vision and starts something like this here! What an inspiration. Meanwhile for now this remains a mystery, perhaps an homage to a bygone era, or just a fantasy. We will never know.

Setting (5/5): the interior of this place is simple and chic with a focus on sheep. There is a good amount of seating and tables that can fit four comfortably. If you need chill study vibes, I would definitely check this place out. Drinks (5/5): I got the mocha and really enjoyed it! It had a rich, but not too sweet chocolate taste and it wasn't bitter. The little latte design on top was also a nice touch. And I think that summary of their coffee being rich and slightly sweet is reflective of their other drinks too (my friend got the Americano and agreed that it had a natural sweet taste too it). Also I will say their music choices are great and it's not too noisy here so you can have a nice chat or really dive deep into a book or email here.

Because the 1st time we came back in '22, on a Sunday, the entire bar was booked for some kid's birthday party. When we walked in, people looked at us like we were clearly in the wrong place (rather than tell us, nicely, that they simply weren't open to other customers). So we came back today, on a goegeous Saturday, at about 2:00 pm. Prime time for people to head out on a walk to explore Staten Island, and to grab a refreshing beer at a local brewery. And guess what? Closed, again. For another kid's party. You know how the saying goes - screw me once, shame on you. Well, this is officially 0 for 2. The kicker is that we even called ahead multiple times to try and see if they were indeed open today; got zero answers, and their voicemail is full. I've absolutely, positively no idea why this place has tremendous reviews. They absolutely stink at handling the basics of a brewery. Not to mention, and not to throw shade at the entire neighborhood, but the adjacent plaza isn't exactly visitor-friendly. Trash everywhere basically. Do yourself a huge favor and come try the nearby Craft House. They do CRAZY stuff here, such as: a) answer phones b) serve adults on a Saturday c) have good beer and good bar apps. Never trying my luck at the joke of a "Flagship" brewery again.
