Really good coffee is kind of hard to find on the north shore, but this cozy dark coffee shop with friendly staff makes a pretty good Americano. They also serve food and have some seating, but I didn't have a chance to try their other offerings. read more

I was really excited to try this place and finally came in with high expectations, but unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The staff seemed unprofessional from the start. I ordered an iced matcha and was given a hot one instead. When I mentioned it, she said I had asked for hot (which I didn't), but said she'd remake it. That same day, iced drinks were advertised as 50% off, yet I was still charged full price. It was difficult to even address this because she was gossiping with her friend at the counter the entire time, which made me feel uncomfortable interrupting. The atmosphere didn't help either, the lights were off, making it feel like the business wasn't even open yet. As for the food, the Tex-Mex burrito was extremely underwhelming. It was mostly beans with barely any bacon, and at $14 it felt like an overpriced egg-and-bean burrito. The sausage, egg, and cheese bagel was just okay, but the bagel itself was very hard and oddly sweet. The matcha latte was the biggest letdown, there was virtually no matcha flavor at all, it tasted like watered-down oat milk. Overall, between the service, pricing issues, and poor food quality, this place did not live up to expectations. I wouldn't recommend it. read more

My favorite place to study in the area. Outside looks unassuming but there is so much to this place. Coffee, food, wifi - checks all the boxes. Seating in the back as well. They also host events there (have yet to attend). A lot of locals come here so you know it's a great spot. To drink, I like the Spanish latte! Also the King Kong for a protein shake. For food I'll usually get the chicken avocado club, or the hot chicken sandwich. read more

You might see ppl working on their laptops, couples on a date, ppl stopping in before/after a shift, teachers, artists, realtors, retired folks, parents with their infants, etc. They have a fridge stocked with additional beverages including wellness shooters like ginger shots. They also sometimes have sangria and daily specials available. In the back they have created an awesome seating area with tables, chairs, umbrella's and a mini bar. I'm so disappointed at my experience here last week. The owner wasn't in, not sure if that has anything to do with it but everything was off. Customer service and food was trash, like literally went into the trash. My second time ordering the avocado toast, coworkers rave about this toast and I ordered it once and it was amazing, this time, not so much. The break was inedible so I threw it away and thought whatever I'll just enjoy the toppings. Hard stop. The bacon was raw!!!!! Sick. I was so annoyed because one I was hungry af and two this place isn't cheap so I just threw $20 in the trash. I called to speak to the owner several times since I've supported this spot a few times and felt like my experience needed to be voice. Each time I was told he wasn't in, finally I was offered to take down my # and the guy said he will Call me. Here we are dayssss later and no call so voicing my experience here will have to suffice. Looking for a cool cafe. Look no further. They have a cute courtyard in the back. Playing cool music. Coffee was real good. Shared a salad and sandwich with my daughter. I like a place that does not pretend to be something its not. Food was very good. Service was good. When we were leaving they were setting up a taqueria also. read more

The ambiance of this place is really nice. I went there on a day where they had live music. Super cute interior and staff were pleasant. I ordered a strawberry matcha with whole milk. The drink didn't taste like strawberry or matcha. It just tasted like a cup of milk. Also looked like it too when it was fully mixed. Perhaps my mistake going into a coffee shop and not just ordering a latte. Will probably go back to try the coffee and give a fairer review. read more

The food was better than I had anticipated a "Coffee" place to serve. They are so much more than coffee, which I might add is also delicious! I consider myself a relatively polite person, but I have to post this review. I can confidently say the mushroom Swiss burger is probably one of the worst burgers I have ever had the displeasure of eating. They gave me these two dry over cooked patties smashed onto a dry, stale bun. Rude staff and terrible attitudes. Don't bother eating here. I used to love coming here. Such a great cafè I found on my trip down to Staten Island. Their Spanish lattè (lattè with condensed milk) was great! Their chocolate chip cookie is also a must. This place is also great for studying or getting work done. They have outdoor seating in the back but I didn't check it out. All the inside tables were near an outlet to charge phones/laptop. My cousin kept bragging about this place, claiming they have the best coffee. I must say, I wasn't disappointed! The staff were friendly, attentive, brought the food to the table and even came back with an extra bowl of strawberries for my toddler. The coffee was rich and strongly brew. My three sons and I love this spot for studying. Great coffee, vibe, atmosphere and the baristas are all on point. I usually get their oatmeal when I need energy to get work done. Otherwise their omelets are amazing along with their thick toast with fig jam on the side. Lunch is always impressive also. Last night we checked out their backyard taqueria and I'm so mad I didn't go sooner. Our fresh watermelon cocktail was so unique and refreshing. It took me a moment to decide on my tacos as there's a nice assortment. We even ordered plain steak tacos for our dogs. Everyone was happy and the food was well prepared, super fresh and so yummy. A wonderful cozy place to have breakfast or lunch! There is a true family vibe here, provided in a myriad of ways by Juan and his friendly, very helpful staff. The food is all tasty, very decent portions, and a great value as well. On top of all that, he continuously promotes COOL and diverse local entertainment, such as magic, rock/folk/Indie live bands and promoters, etc! This is down the street from my friend's house. I decided to get this on my last day here in New York. I ordered an iced Spanish latte with another espresso shot with oat milk. So...if anyone is getting Fab Cup vibes, that's because it's the same location and even one or the same co-owners. The interior of the cafe is about 80% the same and it continues to be cozy. The Cold brew is expensive but good. Come check it out so it lasts longer than Fab Cup! read more

Northside deserves all the praise. I've never had a bad anything from here. I've tried everything. You cannot go wrong. Staten Island never really had a coffee shop that could deliver it all. They offer breakfast, lunch, smoothies, açaí bowls in addition to all the coffee drinks. The staff is excellent and without them the shop does not exist. They hold down it down any time of the day and they're the reason I keep coming back. It's just a good crew, good location and of course, good food. The coffee is by far the best on the island and I could even argue it would give the big dogs in the city a run for their money. Excellent latte also. read more
