We walked from our door to redfish trailhead to hike Bench lakes, rented a boat from their marina for a lovely afternoon out on the water and enjoyed patio drinks by the beach. It's a short drive into Stanley and less then 30min from many other great hikes such as Alice Lake and Sawtooth lake! read more

An amazing location historic old lake lodge vibe - it's got a good restaurant and bar... cool general store - lots of activities - beaches - wildlife. Accommodations were nice rugged outdoor feel log cabins amazing nature just outside your door. REDFISH LAKE LODGE IS UNIQUE AND TO BE TREASURED!!! Redfish Lake Lodge is an AMAZING place. The history of the 1929 original lodge is preserved and carefully maintained. I LOVE to stay in the lodge!! How can you improve on eating an excellent dinner then going upstairs to your room. Remember to eat breakfast in Limbert's in the morning. You might just sit by the fireplace on a chilly morning. Star gazing is beyond belief!! I love to wrap up in a blanket or two and lay on the dock to see the Milky Way and all the stars. Maybe even a shooting star. Definitely get out on a boat even if you just to take the hiker's boat to see the other end of the lake where 10,000+ peaks take your breath away. Hikers have a blast picking which hikes you want to take. Please get a trail map at the fun General Store. Don't miss the General Store. Rock climbing is wonderful too. read more

Accommodations are very rustic but we knew to expect that with a last minute cancellation for labor day weekend. We were in one of the duplex cabins and rooms are very small. Very close to lodge and lake, which was a big plus due to the rainy weather. The shower curtain was very dirty / moldy at the bottom, could of been replaced not an expensive fix. Hair Dryer didn't work and had to request anther one which was delivered promptly and two of the table lamps had burned out bulbs, again an easy cheap repair. Beds provided mediocre comfort for 2 nights. Visited Limberts 2x, once for breakfast and once for dinner, both good. Alex was an excellent server, friendly, and provided prompt service. We'll be back and select a stand alone cabin for our next visit. Views of the mountains are outstanding! read more

Not what it used to be. Love the Sawtooth area but will find a different place to stay next time. Disappointed with guest services. We were over-billed for our stay and it was impossible to get an explanation as to why we were billed for certain things. There was a lot of back and forth and the front office staff was not respectful. I left feeling like management gauges their guests for every little thing. Overpriced for what you get. Additionally, the food at the gazebo has changed and it not what it used to be. Overpriced for not good tasting food. read more

We enjoyed our stay so much. The food at Limberts was delicious and the service was wonderful. Our tour boat driver, Jens, was the best! The weather was less than ideal when we were out on the boat and he made it fun for all. The live music on the lawn was festive. We loved walking from our cabin to all of the activities without having to drive anywhere. read more

All in all a good experience with our two grandsons. 2 nights in a fish hook cabin. Fairly clean room for a cabin. Beds were marginal in terms of comfort. We found most everything at the lake "pricey". Food was so so or maybe a bit less than that. Environment, views and atmosphere was spectacular and more than made up for the inadequacies. We live in Ketchum (as do our grandkids) and have been coming up here for over 40 years for the atmosphere. Will probably be back again next year and beyond for an overnight with the grandkids. read more

Redfish lodge and cabins are one of the best experiences of my life. It's one of the best vacation I have ever had. This experience ranks right up there with sitting on a beach somewhere. The Lodge is nostalgic. Service, Mostly college students I think. All wearing the redfish logo with pride. Everyone from the besk, waitress, bartender, store clerk, dock hand, cleaning crew were always smiling and happy to be there. And they go out of their way to make sure you are happy to be there. They say Disneyland is the happiest place on earth. I would tell you that I would challenge that after spending a week here. They all have drank the juice and it shows. What a great bunch of people! The cabin, We got a big one. The creek side number 39. It sleeps 10 and it is awesome! It's on the spendy side of the budget but would get the same place next year. Every night we had deer at our cabin as if the knew it was dinner time. So cool! Stuff to do. They have all kinds of rentals from boat to bikes.. We tryed them all. The kayaks and paddle boards were the big hits of the week. Oh and sitting and staring at the lake and and mountains was pretty cool too. The food, You can get burgers and ice cream out in front of the lodge most of the day. The Restaurant was also pretty good for breakfast. The food was just ok but add in the atmosphere and view and it 5 stars all the way. Downs... Well maybe just a few.. No campfire or BBQ at the cabin. Have to cook inside. :( But we did have a good time around the fire inside just would have been fun to have one outside. Cabin just had few things that needed tweaked. Also a little construction going on at the dock while we were there. But didn't let it ruined our trip. Best blood pressure medicine I've ever taken. I think I actually got young by staying here and enjoying a little piece of heaven on earth.. If you ever get a chance to stay here for a few nights do it.. You will be happy you did. Ok, the rooms... they're small & without frills; there is no AC, but there is a fan in the window & in early July, that was good enough. The showers & restrooms are shared. If you're staying in the lodge, know what you're getting. Now, having said that, we just stayed there for 4 days & with all there is to do, we were only in our room at the end of the day. My biggest tip.... if you rent a room in the Lodge, pay a little extra and get one facing the lawn, lake, and mountains. There is a well kept beach 20 yds from the front entrance. There are hiking trails less than 100 yds away. There is a bike trail 15 yds from the lodge (it's very short at less than 4 miles). You can rent a boat, SUP, and stuff like that right outside. There's even a small store on the premises. Most importantly... there's a beautiful view right in front of your face. This place is awesome. You can see reviews of the Lodge Dining Room... they're rather mixed & I think people are actually being polite. Our experience was not good, except for the weekend brunch. Stick to the quick food outside, bring your own food or go into Stanley. Also, check when there's music on the lawn. That's pretty cool even if it is only from 6 - 8 pm. We got to the Lodge on July 3rd which was a Wednesday this year & there was music. There was also music on Friday. Just know this... people take the chairs on the veranda during the day & hours before the music starts. Some people / small groups take those chairs all day; you might want to bring your own chairs so you can sit on the lawn and enjoy the day & the evening. My heartbeat probably went down to the lowest it's been in a long time. This place will remind you what life's all about.... friends and family. It's a little slice of Americana that reminds you about all that is good. Doctors should prescribe this place. read more

What a relaxing paradise Redfish Lake Lodge is, especially in the off-season! It is the perfectly rustic, secluded, dream-worthy place we have heard rave reviews about. The 18-room lodge sits on Redfish Lake, and is completely surrounded by the rocky, jagged peaks of the Sawtooth Mountains. We were there in late June during the work week, so it was right before the big 4th of July holiday, and hardly anyone was there--it felt like we had the place all to ourselves. Enjoy several trails that begin just off Redfish Lake Lodge. I'd recommend them to anyone who's looking for an easy-going, forest hike. While we were there, we also boated, fished, lounged on the beach, and ate our fair share of ice cream--consisting of at least one soft serve cone (if not two) per day from the food gazebo. Not all the rooms have been updated, but if you're lucky enough to stay in one that has, enjoy every minute! It's a shared-bathroom set-up so make sure to bring jammies to put on in the middle of the night OR use the complimentary robes! We camped at Glacier View for 5 nights, and celebrated completing 5 day hikes with dinner at the Lodge. Hats off to the chefs: an impressive selection and nice presentations for a remote resort. I enjoyed Idaho trout; my brother had steak. Service was prompt and friendly. Seating was covid-respectful. We also enjoyed breakfast upon arrival. Large helpings and reasonable prices. This lodge and area is a pretty cool summer destination for families and couples. We were camping nearby and just stopped in for a drink and to check the place out. It reminds me of a summer vacation lodge that you would see in movies - in a scene where a person is reflecting on some of their best summer memories as a family. It has a certain nostalgia to it... even though it is modern also. The menu for food looked good and we likely would have eaten but we had already planned dinner in town at a pizza place. A beautiful place to visit! The mountains and lake are gorgeous, and there's good hiking and mountain biking close by. We were there for four nights with friends and enjoyed the outdoor activities available. The restaurant served us well for all of our meals, although it was a limited menu which can be understood because of the remote location of the lodge. There is a common men's and women's bathroom on the floor, but it was clean and nicely decorated. Two showers, one toilet, one commode, and one sink for the entire floor (men's bathroom). Would've been nice to have had two sinks in the bathroom, but there is one in the room. The rooms were clean and adequate, but very simple with a bed, sink, chair, and dresser. The primary reason I rated my stay a 3 because our room was right over the bar and someone forgot to turn off the music in the bar one night after it closed at midnight. I could not find anyone in the lodge to talk to you about turning it off nor was my call to the emergency line answered. Even with earplugs I could not fall asleep until 3 AM and that set me back for our remaining time there being overly tired. Quiet hours are posted 10 pm to 8 am, but apparently that does not apply to the bar that was right underneath our room. After speaking to the staff in the morning though, they were kind enough to credit us for the night. The next time we visit, I look forward to enjoying the food and grounds, but I will stay in my RV or try a cabin! read more

We love Redfish Lake. We have been coming for 22 years and have always stayed in one of the cabins. The last few years we have rented the pontoon boats to have snacks and drinks on the water. The best is to go to the other side of the lake. Staff has always been very friendly and helpful. We were thrilled the lodge restaurant was allowing take out for dinner during these Covid times. We personally didn't feel comfortable going to the restaurant yet, although they did have tables spaced safely. We have always been impressed with the quality of the food. The chef does an excellent job. Our favorites are the Ruby red Trout and the Wagu Flank Steak. But everything is wonderful! read more

Cabin was nice & you can't beat the views! Decided to try dine in first time since the Pandemic. Service was slower than I remember in the past, but not a huge concern... then finally ordered drinks...never came! Then they came to take our order about 20 minutes later, we reminded them of drinks & ordered Prime Rib. "Sorry we are out". Ok, it's Prime, so maybe... so we ordered sirloin steaks..."Sorry, might as well tell you, we are out of all steaks". So that left us with Shrimp pasta ( I am allergic to shellfish!) or a burger....hmmm. We shared the burger but not exactly the upscale Date Night meal we had envisioned. So sad. Even worse, we decided to give them another try a few days later for breakfast. service just as bad & the bacon & eggs were between bad & inedible. My advice, eat at the Gazebo Grill outside where the staff were happy, working hard & serving better tasting food! read more

If you are planning to visit this place over summer please read this before going so you know what you're in for!! Yes, it's a beautiful scenery place all around. The lake is amazing and the hikes are incredible but you might want to stay somewhere worth your money like in stanley, that's only 10 mins away. I worked here for 5 months and it was disgusting. They never clean any of the blankets or quilts. When they close up for season they just fold the blankets and quilts that haven't been cleaned all season and put them in the dresser drawer to sit all winter long. A YEAR with out cleaning the blankets and quilts you sleep with. read more

Don't stay in the lodge rooms. We stayed in the lodge rooms for 3 nights. They were loud and smelled constantly of all the mixed food smells from the restaurant. There was a power outage while we were there and no emergency lightening. The shared bathrooms and showers were unusable due to being so dark. I fell down the stairs at the far end of the hall due to it being so dark. When the staff was advised they acted like it was no big deal. 2 star due to the amazing view. read more

Going to Redfish Lake Lodge is a treat any time of year, it's beautiful. There can be lots of people during the summer time, it's still great but know you will be there with the masses, but if you can go anytime after Labor Day it is fantastic. The crowds are gone and it's very peaceful. We stayed a couple nights in mid September. We rented a pontoon boat for 4 hrs and there were only 7 other boats on the whole lake. It was amazing. There cabin's are rustic but cute just what you would think for the mountain's. Food, drinks and atmosphere in the restaurant is great just what you need to help relax. They also have a pretty good gift store if you need any trinkets. Everyone working there is always helpful and polite. These are a few reasons why I keep going back. Put it on your bucket list, you'll love it. read more

Everyone was extremely pleased - and the honey jalapeño cornbread is a delicious appetizer. Redfish Lake & the Lodge runs 8 years deep with me. You see, after marrying my wife, we've been coming up here every year since. I've camped with her family & friends here several times. Celebrated my father-in-law's retirement as well as my mother-in-law's 60th birthday at the lake & just last year we had her family reunion here.. This year, we camped in cabins at Cathedral Pines about 40 miles SE of Redfish Lake...but we made it a point to visit and do some mountain biking around the lake's off-road trails, even spending time at the beach & taking a dip. Afterwards, it was time to hang out for some live music on the Lodge's lawn. You can't hang out on the lawn & NOT visit the Lodge's bar! It was 3-deep, but our bartender had everything under control. She had drinks flowing smoothly & even though it was a packed house, she knew exactly in what order you came in. Grab your craft brews in clear Solo cups & head back out onto the lawn. Redfish Lodge is a tradition. The view of Mt Heyburn is pretty spectacular and during our dinner a really awesome storm was brewing on the lake. The people watching is always interesting too. A bluegrass band setup out on the lawn and they were serving chili-dogs and beer for $10. We on the other hand were inside attempting to have a nice meal to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. I ordered a medium-rare tender-loin. It came medium. Please know I'm not a picky patron. I've sent a steak back once before in my life but hey, it was $23.50 so I nicely mentioned it to the waiter who apologized and discretely got the manager involved. The manager was also gracious and took the medium steak back to the cook. It then however took them about 20 minutes to bring me new steak which was rare but I can eat a rare tender-loin and I wasn't going to send it back a second time. Then the waiter said we could each have a complimentary desert so at that point I was going to give them a thumbs-up. We each ordered a from Creme Brulee but then the dessert (singular) came with two spoons. Back to thumbs down. The dessert was however good but it just seemed so cheap after botching an expensive dinner. Wished I'd sat on the lawn and ordered the chili-dog. read more

The people here are so nice and the surroundings are incredible. It feels like old Yellowstone with a lot less people - even though the cabins and campgrounds are full. Dinner in the restaurant was spectacular & they have an outside grill too. Glacier View campground is a walk away from the lodge & site 7 is extremely private with a secret walk to the river! There's a spa up the road in Stanley & a river hot springs on the side of the road that is terrific! read more

Pristine lake, trees, mountains, friendly people, quaint cabins, nice lodge, good camping--this place has it all. Even the drive to the lodge was memorable (and a lot of fun if you like to Zoom, Zoom!).
