These guys really are as good as it gets! Philip and his team are professional and perfect at what they do. And, importantly, they are licensed and bonded. Some of the top painters in the area are not! Ask your painter for their license number! We hired Redhill to paint 7 rooms in our house (living room, dining room, 2 bedrooms, bathroom, entryway, hallway). They did the work in 5 days. On the last day, we decided that we had to add on the kitchen because everything else looked so good that it made the kitchen look bad. They were able to get some their team to work on Saturday at the last minute to fit in the extra room. Philip even recommended a color for the kitchen that would go well with the other colors we had chosen for the other rooms. I am *very* detail oriented, and if I see rough edges or mistakes, it drives me absolutely bonkers. But like I said, these guys were perfect. I'm not saying there weren't minor things to fix, but they fixed them and the final product is as good as it could be. We also had them demo a built-in that was not original to the house (and was not great in general). They did the demo then patched up the wall. Now it looks like it was never there! They were able to add this work on and we paid a reasonable price for time and materials to get the work done. Speaking of price, they gave us an estimate that was thoroughly prepared and broken out by trim, walls, and ceilings. They did the work specified, they added the change order for the extra room, charged for the demo work, and that was it. On time and on cost and perfect work. I couldn't ask for more! Oh, and they prepped and covered *everything* and kept a small footprint while working throughout the house. I was concerned about our 104-year-old hardwoods and they showed them great care and respect. Speaking of care and respect, they came on time, left on time, were always friendly, and cleaned up after themselves every single day. You should hire Redhill Painting. You'll find cheaper painters, and if you are just painting a rental unit and don't care if they slop paint around, go for the cheapest. One was 4 days late with his estimate. One spent like an hour in my house talking about his hobbies. One sent me pictures of a recent trip. We had a couple of quotes from handymen, and Philip came by and gave us a very competitive bid plus he was licensed and has a dedicated crew, is easy to talk/work with and is responsive on email. He painted the hallway of our condo and our interior as well as our deck and an exterior door and it all looked great. I won't be able to update this with how the paint job holds up, but for interior work they did a good job. I would probably give 4.5 stars if I could, they did miss a few spots and had to come back, and I thought some of the baseboard would end up being touched up a bit more, and they forgot to put 1 faceplate back on, but he was responsive and came back and resolved some of the issues when we contacted him. They did extensive surface preparation on our Edwardian home - all the way down to the 1906 redwood siding, in order to get a great final result that is weatherproof, beautiful and (hopefully) very long-lasting. I called this company for an estimate on a painting project based on YELP. My call was answered properly & we made an appointment to meet to discuss my project. I don't remember the guy's name, but assumed he was the owner. He came out on time & we discussed the work. My impression was that he was in a big hurry to leave, and was not interested in doing the work. In fact, he said to me that "he had to run". He didn't even tell me when he would provide me with an estimate! I had to ask as he was running out the door. He replied, "by end of week". That was almost 4 weeks ago. Never got an estimate! I've secured a professional company to do the work. 5/26/15 response to Redhill: I did not receive your estimate - even in my junk mail. I have received all other estimates without any problems. I chose Red Hill painting after getting 3-4 estimates to paint the back of my house. The reasons I did were 1) Philip did what he said he would. He came when he said would, emailed estimates when he said he would and started the job as he said he would. 2) His estimate was detailed and price was fair. 3) He has great yelp reviews. The job his crew was professional and prompt. They came and prepped the back of the house in one day including washing, removing old paint, and priming key areas. The next day they put on two coats and left everything as they found it. This job may have taken less time than most since much of the back had new siding that was pre-primed. I have worked with Redhill twice in the last two years. In June of 2012 I hired Redhill to completely re-paint my Victorian in Noe Valley, interior and exterior. The building has a fair amount of architectural detail, both inside and out, and the plan for the exterior was somewhat elaborate. In May of 2014 I hired Redhill to re-paint a couple of the bedrooms and to re-paint all of my kitchen cabinets. In both instances, Philip and his crew did a superlative job. The estimates in both instances were clear and comprehensive; they stayed within budget; they finished the job when they said they would finish; the crew cleaned up every day and were diligent and courteous throughout. I particularly appreciated that they were respectful of the neighbors in terms of not double-parking or over-hanging adjacent driveways. When the job was done the crew returned in order to deal with a couple of minor issues, and while the job progressed they cheerfully accommodated my requests for minor changes. Philip Storey and Santos were absolutely top notch and I cannot say enough to about the excellent job they did on my condo. I had several large holes in my wall from a previous owner's TV mount, as well as big patches where the top layer was ripped off from things being taped on the wall. Philip was able to fit me in within a week. He came by the morning of the job to review all of the fixes necessary, then left Santos to do the job. I don't know what kind of magic he had up his sleeves, but you can't even tell that there were big gaping holes in my wall just 24 hours before. Not to mention, he was very careful with my new hardwood floors and cleaned up after himself. I'm a repeat customer. Phillip and his team did some exterior work on our house years ago and the results were beautiful. When we decided to paint the interior from top to bottom, I had a high degree of confidence they could pull it off. Phillip met with me several times before beginning the work to talk about scope, timing, and what we needed to do to prepare (which was basically move out of the house!). He even recommended a color consultant, Nan Kornfeld, who helped us choose a gorgeous color pallet. The Redhill team executed Nan's vision flawlessly. I had an extremely positive experience with Redhill Painting company. I didn't have the largest job in the world, but I didn't have the smallest either. We repainted two bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, and did touchups in two bedrooms and a breakfast room. While basically straightforward, the job entailed a few tricky details. We had to match a color in one room, paint out some tacky ceiling details in a coffered ceiling, and remove a mirror that had been glued above a fireplace decades ago which was potentially dangerous and also left a fair amount of damage to the wall. The key concept that Philip Storey, the owner and manager of Redhill, brought to the job was trust, trust, trust. During our initial consultation, Philip and I sat down and went through a quite extensive list of questions I had prepared about the job. I'd never had rooms repainted before and was both nervous about the extent of the work and a bit baffled by all the considerations. There are a lot of moving parts when you repaint: paint sheens, color questions, trim details, paint brands.... Philip let me ask all of my questions and we went through the list point by point. One thing I really appreciated was that he would lay out a couple of options and give suggestions or recommendations, but ultimately let me decide what I wanted to do. For example, there was some painted trim in the ceiling I wasn't sure what to do with, and he outlined a couple of design and price options. After a meeting with Philip, you know you're going to be in really good hands. Philip's workers were consummate professionals. They were extremely careful with my furniture and belongings, as well as with the preparations for painting (laying down tarps, taping up the walls, removing light switch covers, etc.) Philip was very much on call to answer any questions I had while the work was in progress. He didn't mind texting me if I had questions even if he was on another work site at the time. After the job was complete, we went through each room one by one and corrected any small defects (paint bleed under tape, etc.) Given the extent and complexity of the work, I found Redhill's bid to be competitive and fair. Ultimately, though, you really can't put a price on establishing a strong level of trust with a company whose workers are going to be in your living space for a number of days.
