The shrimp boil is my favorite with garlic butter/non spicy. The shrimp are a good size and VERY flavorful! The corn on the cobs are very tender as well and full of flavor. My kids love their crab legs/snow crab in garlic butter too. My daughter always adds 2 boiled eggs. Service is great! Everyone is very attentive, fast and friendly. We went for a family birthday celebration. If you don't get a boil the menu is very limited. Only 3 of us ordered the boil with the rest of our party ordering other things. HOWEVER we had a party of 8 and didn't check our receipt before paying (our bad). I ordered a glass of wine and one of my sons a margarita. The waitress came back and told us they were out of the wine and the tequila for the margarita so we both ordered a beer. Checking our receipt later we were charged for both the drinks they were out of as well as the ones we actually had. We were also charged a "service charge" of almost $60 which I understand goes to the business and not the wait staff. These were about 1/2 inch scallops- check it on Google... the average amount of small scallops for 1/2 lb. is approximately 30-50 scallops. We checked every dish... we got only 7 scallops!! 7 scallops for $16.00!!! When we complained to two managers- they could not tell us how many ounces were in 1/2 lb.! Our waitress knew, but not the managers of the restaurant! The manager refused to remove the cost of the scallops we DID NOT RECEIVE!! The managers were rude. There was no customer service! No intent to be helpful. What does this tell me??? Did they cheat us on everything we ordered???? This was NOT A small order. We ordered 5 lbs. of shrimp, 5 lbs. of crawfish, 4 lbs. of Snow Crab & the 1/2 lb. of scallops!! With drinks this was a $700 bill!! On that type of order I expect Excellent Customer Service, not a rude 'manager' who can't even tell me how many ounces are in a pound or half-pound when they sell each item by the 1/2 or full pound!!! I even requested that they bring out a scale & show me 1/2 pound of scallops- I would pay for the extra 1/2 pound, but they refused!!! This infers that they KNEW they were cheating me!! We had dinner there Saturday February 28, 2026 and lets just say we won't be back. We got there a hour wait no biggie we drove to walk around Ingram mall. Got back was seated after a while. They put us in what looked like a party room we were a table of 6. What should had been a red flag was when we ordered fried pickles and cheese sticks and they brought them out on a little paper try that you get concession nachos on. So we placed our order 3 fried cat fish combos and 2 Weekend special seafood boils. The fried combos came out 25 minutes before the seafood boils the excuse was because the kitchen was backed up on seafood boils...make that make sense? How to they NOT have their boilers going all day and have the food in coolers, thats their #1 sellers. Once we got the boils we asked for lemon and melted butter...that never came. The seafood boil was not spicy what so ever it was bland they had it sitting in melted butter with the liquid seasoning on it...we were let down. Our waiter was slow took about 15 minutes to get a refil after he didn't come around a manager did we asked her for refills and lemon and melted butter still didn't come. I had high expectations for Red Hook but I wont be back. Wasted time and money. We left about 930 after being seated at 815. First, we ordered their pink lemonade and it looked good but after closer inspection of the cup there was a black, gum-like substance on the INSIDE OF MY CUP, so we asked her to remove it from the tab which our waitress kindly obliged. It's crawfish season, but the crawfish that was served was not fresh. Most of the crawfish gills were black, and the meat was definitely not fresh. The seasoning was lackluster and the spice was nonexistent. I never complain about my food to the staff because first impressions are everything and that was disappointing. One of my favorite "go to" placed for an excellent experience, excellent food with a very reasonable price for good quality seafood. This place is usually pretty busy on the weekends but the wait staff is usually very attentive and take care of you. I've eaten at most of the seafood places in San Antonio and this one seems to have the best menu to put together what you want without an outrageous price. You can get prices for a 1/2 pound or one pound of most things on the menu to make your own combination. They also have daily specials for really good prices. Fridays special was 1/2 shrimp, 1 pound of Alaskan crab legs with lobster tail for about $33. My family loves going here for dinner and we always have a great time! read more

So, why did this bag contain THEE smallest clusters we've ever seen, and 6 "quarter size slices" of sausage ***literally*** (which was NOT noted on the menu as "slices!" When I asked our waitress for my second order of sausage (because clearly this isn't a double order) she sd "Oh, that's the double order!" I sd "where?" She replied "Um, yeah, so the sausages are slices." The food was deeeelicious. I'm new to San Antonio and this joint by far is the best seafood restaurant I've ever been to out here. I ordered the "weekend special" which consist of a lobster tail half pound of shrimp and half pound of snow, crab legs in a Cajun spice seasoning. I am still drooling, just thinking about it and actually couldn't eat it all because it also came with a corn on the cob which was delicious and red potato. The only downside was that they don't provide you with the cracker for the crab legs because they said people had been stealing them, but our waitress was able to provide us. I had the snow crab with sausage, corn, and potatoes with the red hook special flavor. I would not recommend the fried calamari, it was very chewy. The po boys and steamed bowls were good. I personally prefer the crab leg boils here over Hook & Reel. They have so many seasonings and sauce options to choose from but go with the Red Hook Special - it's the one with all of them mixed together! The boils also come with potatoes, corn and sausage which are really yummy when boiled together. The service is quick which is surprising because they are always busy! The only reason why I took away one star is because this last time that I went my crab meat would not come completely out for nothing! I expect to crack it once in the middle and take the whole part of the meat out - I hate fishing and cracking the leg all the way up to the top just to get the meat. No sure if they were overcooked or not but it's just irritating when the meat doesn't come out easy. They have lots of drink selections and recently added a Margarita Flight to the menu...it seemed pricey but the size of the glasses were larger than any other flights I have seen at other restaurants so maybe this is why the price is more.
