Recently I went back to Surfing Crab to give it another chance. The service is much much better. Our waiter was attentive and very friendly. I have a crawfish obsession! And this time around it was cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. I had to order the surfing special sauce. Usually I ask them for the dry Cajun rub and they are able to do it. I guess not anymore. Not complaining I love both ways but saving some calories from the butter is always helpful

There was a man SMOKING at the bar! The waitress was not surprised and told him he had to stop. He did not stop. I have not been around someone smoking in so long and the last place I want it is in a restaurant. The boil was decent. The problem is salt. There was so much salt on the sausage and other parts of the boil that it was not all edible. The crab in the boil was good, the shrimp was okay, the muscles okay. No one ate the sausage, most of the potatoes were left bc they were hard. I will say the calamari was the reason for the extra star. Everyone agreed the calamari was excellent. The sweet tea was great. There is graffiti on everything. The walls, the chairs, the leather , the decor. If your kids can read and you don't want to answer questions as a parent this is not the place for you. It was filthy, there was food all over the ground. When we sat down there was shrimp, French fries and potatoes under our table. We did not see a single person cleaning the floors. This was not a good night out. The man seemed upset we did not want the food to go. We didn't eat it there, why bring it home to throw it out?

My boyfriend and I have been to Surfing Crab a few times, and we always hope we get Zain as our server. He's kind, welcoming, and even remembers our order, which makes us feel so appreciated. As teenagers, we don't always feel taken seriously, but he treats us with so much respect every time. His positive attitude truly makes our visits special. Thank you, Zain! :)

The food was great and very reasonably priced I got the special. And it was 32 dollars for crab shrimp sausage crawfish came with potato's and corn. Place was packed Sunday at dinner time but that's to be expected. Everyone was nice and attentive. Have a bar to sit and watch. Sports while you eat. Will go back.

The best service from our waitress from North Carolina. The food was delicious and the best sweet tea I've ever had a seafood restaurant. Hate that I just discovered this place. We will back to try the king crab. Sat at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed watching the staff interact and enjoy their busy Friday evening.

Ordered delivery, everything was packaged super well so that nothing spilled and the food was still hot! The Lobster tail and snow crab was great, I ordered extra corn because i didn't realize they already came with some corn and potato so i'll keep that in mind for next time. I got the medium spice old bay + garlic butter which was great, hardly spicy at all but great flavors, I think i'll go up one spice level next time. Also tried out the fried oysters, they were good, but probably won't order again, just wanted to give them a try. French fries are great. The whole meal came with two sides of extra butter and two sides of tartar sauce.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this restaurant. I opted to dine in for a casual evening. There was open seating at the bar which me and my party opted for. We initially ordered to go but decided to eat in instead. The drinks were relatively cheap, with $5 drink specials Friday evening. I ordered a shrimp boil with addition of corn and was surprised this also included potatoes, as well as a side of fries. For my sauce I ordered the Surfing Special (a mix of all the flavors) Spicy. All was well seasoned. I liked that it was not overwhelmingly spicy but had a good balance. I would try the next heat level out of curiosity. My partner ordered the steak fried rice and a side of diced sausage and enjoyed their meal. We will def dine here again. They stayed busy throughout our meal so I would book a reservation if you can!

I'm usually not the type to enjoy in seafood boils, but if they were all as good as Surfing Crab, I think I'd indulge more often. I really enjoyed how fresh my seafood was, the seasoning, and the hearty portions for each item ordered. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but they've done a good job with the layout, the cleanliness, and even the semi-cheesy decor (#1). It's a place that is casual enough for a messy date night, group dining affair and extremely family friendly The spread of everything from clams to shrimp to crawfish and calamari is impressive. My favorite item would have to be the snow crabs and each leg was filled with copious amounts of meat. Even the crawfish was on point, even if it's not in season. Their non-boil items, such as the shrimp cocktail, fried shrimp, and oysters were also surprisingly good. I think if I'm to go back, I'll be ordering everything from their clams to even the spicy edamame. Service has their moments and I think the prices are about average for a place like this. Seafood isn't going to be cheap, but I wouldn't hesitate about coming back here to feast and preferably in a large group of hungry companions. ____________ (#1) Giant crab and Captain Jack Sparrow? Yes.

If you are a sucker for Seafood boil cuisine and you haven't dine in Surging Crab yet . I'll tell you , your missing out on something huge! This place is undoubtedly one of the best places in town to savour Seafood boil. Visited this place on a weekday evening and it was already getting busy. The place serves just good food and some cocktails to get along! Full Bar!

Thankfully the hosts found me and my party a table. Our server was bright, communicative, and genuinely attentive. The grits blew my mind with it's rich butter and creamy texture while still have the grain texture. The fried tomatoes were met with a cornmeal fried crispy crunch and a juicy almost like it was marinated in lemon juice for a bit. The bacon was pretty good like a thick chunky sweet bacon strip. I personally like it a bit thinner and more crispy. I like that they offer orange juice and mango juice. My 2nd visit I knew better to get a reservation but it was completely booked when I looked to make a reservation the morning of. It was a Saturday morning. I walked in hoping anyways at 11am. They surprisingly had seats available outside this Texas summer lol. The meat pies were okay a little too greasy. I may be biased on Irish pub style meat pies. The nachos with boudin sauce and a lemon sour cream was out of this world with flavor. It what bean dip wishes it could be. I was so full I couldn't finish it, but I went for that dip. Our server cést comme ci comme ca this time. It like she was just there to get through the day that barely started. I was served a dirty water glass with a lipstick stain on it. My server rarely came by and I had to ask another server to help. Honestly I only tipped the girl server out of manners. I would not accept her as my server ever again.

I had my family join me for brunch, and unfortunately, it left us with questions. The biggest question was, "Where was the favor?" I knew I wouldn't like the chicory coffee, yet there was another option available that I enjoyed more that was a decaf. The child's plate was one of the worst kid's meal values I've seen in a while. It was $10 for one tender and a beignet. The tender was small and left my child wanting more, so I paid $7 for an extra tender. Please consider a plate that has two tenders and fruit or potatoes for older kids since this was sized for a toddler. The $10 Doggy Meal looked like it could have provided that option since it came with grilled chicken, sweet potato, and steamed rice. The adult plates had enough food for an actual meal, so we shared our plates with my child who only wanted more chicken and potatoes at that point. The Bayou BLT was okay, yet nothing to rave about. My husband wasn't impressed with the Blue Crab Omelette, and my aunt said her Catfish St. Charles was very bland. We all had an order of beignets that were tough and chewy. My husband and I have had freshly baked and powdered beignets at Cafe Du Moude, so these tiny versions were a tough sell. What did have flavor? The Bananas Foster pancakes, which was the better dessert option. While the restaurant itself was cute, expect table service to be long. We constantly waited for waitstaff to return to refill coffee, bring napkins, or furnish a needed utensil. Also, the parking will be tight. We were lucky to get spots adjacent to the restaurant rather than offsite, yet you will be watched like a hawk when you attempt to leave. People want those spots. If you want the feel of brunch with okay-ish food at expensive prices, come to NOLA the restaurant. If you're expecting to relive the actual taste of NOLA the city, start booking your next getaway for the real deal.
