Prior to moving to the Cutler Bay/Homestead area, I had found Homestyle online- conveniently close to my new home! While the dogs have their own kennels, they also get to play outside with others during the day, which is awesome. There is even a pool that the dogs get to enjoy on hotter days. Riley is a friendly dog (absolutely loves children in particular), but she hadn't had many opportunities to interact frequently with multiple other dogs where we previously lived. After several stays at Homestyle, she seemed to be interacting with other dogs more (although she is still part hound, so she'd much prefer to just sniff everything...). When your dog is excited to get there and just as excited to leave (and it completely exhausted), you know you've found a good place. They even post photos and videos to the Instagram and Facebook accounts so you can keep an eye out on your pup when you're away from home. So glad to have found Homestyle Dog Care!

Dr.Machado kept saying "I'm confused" everytime I'd bring up a point or concern!! he just gave her shots to relieve her symptoms and I'm still unsure what skin reaction she has :( few days later and now she's battling a fever. She keeps getting worse after each visit! AND they charge a $10 cleaning fee to not even clean!!!! Look at the scale my cat stepped on. There was random shit stains and baby ticks crawling around. Horrible experience. Latest update: she died because the medication used to treat her symptoms, lowered her immune system so the real issue took over her body.

When we arrived, we went to the register to ask where the chicks were. We were the only customers in the store at the time, while all three employees were on phone calls. A gentleman walked in after us and stood to the side. When one employee got off the phone and asked "who's next," we stepped forward--only to be told we were not next and that there was a "line." There was no visible line, no clear signage, and we had been standing directly in front of the register the entire time. This is not a large store--it's a small space where basic awareness should make the order obvious. The man who arrived after us then attempted to move ahead, and I had to clarify that we had been waiting. Instead of handling it professionally, the employee responded dismissively. When I finally asked where the chicks were, I was told "outside," with no effort to assist further. Outside, no one initially helped us. Eventually, a young employee approached and was polite, helpful, and allowed us to select a chick ourselves. As first-time customers in this type of setting, we relied on the guidance we were given. Then an older employee, identified as "Tete," approached in an aggressive and confrontational manner, raising her voice at both the employee and myself. She escalated the situation unnecessarily and even placed her hands on my shoulder, which is completely inappropriate. She also began speaking to me in broken Spanish despite me speaking English the entire time, which felt like an unfounded assumption. If there are rules about not touching the chicks, that needs to be clearly communicated and consistently enforced--not handled through public confrontation. What made this worse is that the employee assisting me--and even a supervisor--appeared confused by her reaction, stating that this was how they normally handle things. That inconsistency reflects a clear lack of training and management oversight. I also couldn't ignore the condition of many of the chicks, with a noticeable number appearing to have pasty vent issues, which raises concerns about their care. I ultimately chose not to make a purchase. I will not spend money in a place where customers are treated this way. This was not a product issue--it was a failure in professionalism, training, and management. If you're considering a feed store, I would strongly recommend looking in Broward instead. The difference in atmosphere and customer service is worth the drive.

My dog did not gain 25 pounds in two weeks. I told the guy in the front to weigh him so the guy goes and brings out a regular scale that someone would have at their house not a dog scale the guy stood on the scale grabs my dog and lifts him and proceeds to tell me I weighed this much so your dog is the difference in my weight. I paid the price he told me and even tipped because the ladies in the back work hard and have nothing to do with this. Get competent people to work in the front and a dog scale so something like this doesn't happen again.
