Dr stated I needed cholesterol meds (with test results at 100) and he wanted to change a medicine I've used for 15 plus years, I said NO; he was persistent. Dr also said that my old med will NOT be covered by Kaiser; he wanted to change it to a new one. He LIED it's covered. Not sure why Dr wants to add and change med. Need a mental health appointment, good luck if you want help asap in person, got sent to ACT --really??? First appointment 40 minutes of bullshit and no help just told what to do about my issue, not a listener just told what to do, "...divorce husband". When I enrolled (at a Kaiser seminar) I was told one of my meds would be less $$ than United Healthcare-- just paid more today. Also during seminar I was told mental health can be weekly, nope! Lies! Lies and lies! Need a PT or any referral, oh you have to wait 3-5 days to have it "approved" to get it scheduled, so I guess their doctors don't know any better. Not happy!!!

We have to follow up in a month because even though I mentioned he had Autism, they only booked him with her and for 30min but he needs an additional person and an 1hr visit. That part is a little upsetting but on a positive note, it gives us some time to try to prepare him better. The quality of care Erica gave was amazing. Thank you for showing my little one patience.

My first experience in a facility felt cold and empty. I walked into the lounge here at the home in Redlands and that was completely different; it felt warm, people were enjoying games, some were cracking jokes at my youth. Several of the men and women came up to me to tell me they appreciated the facility and asked about my own family. I received what felt like a VIP tour as well. It was great to see the layout, I got a sense of the security knowing that staff were always on hand to assist and they knew everyone not only by name but by their personalities. Facility wise, the layout is a big loop. The residents were primarily on the west (I think) side and the maintenance, administration, and cleaning departments on the other. New renovations stood out and felt a lot of new updates to equipment, rooms, walls, floors, even the lighting had been improved. I got to see several rooms; this place has a lot of private rooms! The last facility I toured felt like a military base. Besides meeting the residents I also had a nice experience seeing the therapy rooms. My wife is a speech therapist and I could appreciate a facility that provides quality therapy. The physical therapy space is large and several residents were receiving one on one treatment when we passed. My prior experience with facilities had me believing that senior care was diminishing. Touring is not how you want to spend a few hours on a saturday, but after the cold and empty feeling I had remembered my expectations were low. This facility is not that way. I think in time this facility will continue to renovate and everything will look better and better. I recommend you take a tour, learn everything there is to know, and do this at several facilities so you have a better idea of what I'm talking about. My 94 year old grandmother is picky but I believe she would thrive in a place like this.

For highly paid professionals, patients deserve better attention, compassion, and accountability. I feel the same way about Riverside Community Hospital -- the star ratings and other reviews seem to reflect similar concerns. Today, however, I was seen by a Pain Management Fellow under the supervision of a senior specialist. I want to recognize the Fellow for being professional, knowledgeable, respectful, and genuinely attentive. He took the time to listen and showed real care. That is what patients expect and deserve. I only hope more physicians -- especially those supervising -- demonstrate the same level of professionalism and compassion. Please continue supporting doctors who truly care about their patients.
