In my opinion, my most favorite and the best Market Night venue alongside my other favorite Street Fair in Monrovia. The best part of Redlands Market Nights is that it is every Thursday evening. (while my other favorite I mentioned is only during the summer's Friday evenings) I always enjoy visiting if I am solo, or even if I am with my family or friends. I enjoy all the market night treats/ bbq corn, cotton candy, kettle corn, fresh produce, fresh baked goods, etc. Pony rides for kids available. Also some cute clothing vendors and gifts, games or treats for kids. Lots of really cute shops along this street as well. Access parking behind he businesses on State St also large parking lots available on the next blocks closer to the banks in that area. Just watch for parking signs to show if their available. My favorite children's bookstore is also found song this neighborhood within walking distance from the market night activities. Enjoy! read more

Probably my favorite Farmers Market in the IE. Redlands Market Night has a little bit of everything: drool worthy food, an assortment of beverages (boba and Agua Fresca included), farm to table goods, and a ton of vendors selling unique and quirky items. While the competition for best farmers market in SoCal is fierce, I think what sets Redlands Market Night aside from the others is its nighttime atmosphere. The trees are wrapped with twinkling lights, there are performers playing live music, and all of State St. smells like funnel cake. To top it off, Downtown Redlands gives off a small town feel with charming brick buildings that are filled with locally owned businesses. Some tips to note: Parking is a little tough so be sure to carpool. The Redlands Market Night only occurs on Thursdays from 6-9 PM. The majority of the businesses have Square Readers, so no need to stop for cash. So, what are you waiting for? Come support local businesses next Thursday! Come here hungry!!! There are So many food options for about 15$ and under, I tried jade's vegan sushi 5/5 except this place charges tax with my food. The other food places around the area did not, so just heads up! I also got jerk chicken at one stand, and maple fried chicken sandwich nearby. This market has something for everyone, highly recommend coming here! Lots of fruits to try, vegetables to buy, a band to listen, this place opens all year round every Thursday when there is no rain of 40% or more. I am so happy I got to come here as this place was very fun and great to support locals! It is so great that they have this market on a weekday late at night for those who work on the weekends early morning and unable to get fresh fruits/vegetables. I used to come a lot as a kid but as I got older, I came less and less. Recently, I had the chance to visit again and there's now more vendors and people. It's every Thursday in Downtown Redlands on State Street. There are a bunch of food, produce, and miscellaneous vendors. They also have a fun section just for kids which offers activities like animal rides. I tried the pizza at Pie X Co's booth and it was so good. They usually have non-vegan options but I think they're just having vegan options at this location for now. They definitely have the best vegan pizza I've tried. Vegan cheese is usually a no from me but the cheese they use here is actually buttery and cheesy. I got the Shroom Pie and BBQ Jackfruit and both were delicious. Hopefully they'll start serving non-vegan options soon. I also tried some kettle corn from another vendor that was really good as well. read more

My previous review: BIG night market with lots to see. There's a farmer's market section, but most of the market is just different booths selling things - both food and non food. There's always some booth giving out things or with a spinning wheel. There's also a food pantry booth so you can bring canned goods to donate. Fun for kids, couples, friends - whoever. But parking is TERRIBLE. Update: I should add that there's actually a lot of food that you could have for dinner. Yes, there's the typical junk food like churros and funnel cake, but there's also substantial dinner food - tamales, Indian curries, etc. There's plenty to try, so you could come week after week and keep getting new things. Most places offer samples, too. And parking isn't that bad if you come right at the beginning. read more

I met up with a group of friends recently to explore this weekly event. I found street parking close by with ease.There were many vendors selling fresh produce to unique specialized items! But honestly, we came to try out a variety of food that was available. It was pretty cold so there weren't too many people here. The highlights were the country corn, dirty fries and caramel kettle popcorn! The country corn was fantastic. I got the sweet and spicy corn drenched in butter and mayonnaise. I added more spices and lime juice for powerful flavor profiles! My palate loved it! The dirty fries was also packed with great flavor! It was fries topped with bbq pulled pork, cheese sauce and fresh jalapenos. The caramel kettle corn was hot and fresh with the perfect light crispy texture and sweetness of the caramel. It was so addicting! I also tried the carne asada fries, a vegan curry entree, and Thai chicken skewer which were okay. The bbq sampler plate was disappointing. The tri tip and chicken was dry, the pork was okay and I wasn't a fan of their bbq sauce. Not enough tang to it. Overall, it was an interesting event and I had fun strolling around with my friends. I heard there are many more vendors(especially food) during spring and summer so I look forward to coming back and exploring more eating opportunities. read more

Not quite as large as I expected from the hype, but they have a lot of nice options here! You have a lot of vegan food vendors for both meal and "buy your groceries for the week" options. They have vegan baked goods! I ended up getting a Santa Fe burrito, veganized, from the Wrap Station. Not too bad for $8! read more

Went here the first time last Thursday and I had a good time. Located in charming downtown town Redlands, this is one of the better night street market. It's nothing compare to the ones in Asia but hey it's quite good for the IE. There are lots of food options though desserts/sweets are lacking. They had two bands playing but parts of the streets seems dead because you can't here any of the music. My favorite is the two black ladies serenading old classics. They both were great singers! I ended up getting Middle Eastern food at this place nMe Kabob Shack. Let me tell you how disorganized these guys are. Put a woman in there to straighten your shirt out ! They seldom had a line and it took them forever to get your order then you had to wait for longer to get your food. The cashier guy was breathing hard like he just ran a 10k marathon, yet he only rung up 4 orders. I got the combo# 4 which comes with a chicken kabob, one meat kabob, hummus, rice and a small pita bread. I also ordered the lemonade and one baklava. The lemonade was nasty and so bitter. I told the guy and he tried it and agreed it's bitter. The baklava tastes just like they bought it from the grocery store. It didn't taste good. Don't get it. However, the combo #4 was good I liked it but my friend didn't. My only complaint is thT they portion was small. The kabobs were very good but rice and hummus served were just a twenty tiny bit. Not bad for $10 bucks though. I definitely would go to this night market more often but I don't live any close to Redlands. read more

There are always tons of vendors at this market night.. it's good for all ages. Pizza , hot dogs , tacos (authentic), BBQ,carnival corn , live music , the list goes on and on. My family loves this place. They have things to buy like fresh produce, chicken sausage ( Ma' cluckers) very good, but they are not there every Thursday . That sucks, because I'm always looking for them to be there. The Redlands PD are usually patrolling on foot at the venue. So people feel safe.. trust me better to have em there than not at all. Occasionally you might get a weirdo or two lurking around. You might have to find a quick hiding spot cuz some of them like to spark up random conversation. Besides food there lots of booths such as fruit and veggies, fresh honey, cute plants, and other local vendors. There is plenty of parking around and fun activities for kids like a bouncy house! I just moved to the Redlands area last week, so I figured I definitely needed to see what Market Night was all about. There was a decent selection of vendors, and I had some Mexican ice cream. However, compared to farmer's markets in Seattle, this place does not compare. I would have preferred more variety of places and maybe a little more spread out. I realize the streets permit this, however I felt like I was being bumped around or having to awkwardly stand waiting for people. If someone asked, I might go again. Redlands really is an interesting microcosm of Southern California. There are literally all kinds of people that live and frequent there. Skaters, stoners, tattoo freaks, Christians, Mormons, Pagans, the very rich, the not so rich, high-society culturalists, no-society loners and everything in between! Its part of what makes Redlands...well...unique. That being said, Redlands Market Night is a microcosm of Redlands itself. For those of you who don't know - shame on you! Go back and read all the other reviews then come back to this one. *waits.. tapping foot slightly* Back? Good. Now.. to continue; Redlands Market Night is held ever Thursday evening from roughly 6-ish to 9-ish. It's held all along Redlands' historic State Street downtown. They shut down most all of the street for this little extravaganza! And just what will you find here? Oh my - what won't you find here?! Firstly you have many of the already awesome shops that already line State St. (like Devi's, The Redlands Galleria, The Blues et. al) open late for your perusal - but you have everything else you would expect in a Farmer's Market. When I say Farmer's Market - I don't mean just a couple booths with some flowers or organic avocados, Ooooooh no. We're talking display after display after display of certified organic fruits, vegetables, flowers, breads and all sorts of other foods from local farms all over the place! Some of the freshest, most delicious produce can be found here - and there's a wonderful selection. If I was a Vegetarian or Vegan (as the nearby community of Loma Linda is known for), I'd be here every week! They also have tons of craft booths from local artisans. And then there is the fooooooooooooooood!! OMFG! So many genres of food are represented here; you could gain 5 lbs just sampling. The atmosphere is pretty open and family-friendly, something I've always enjoyed. Yes.. there can be droves of annoying teenagers that roam up and down the street in packs, but there's a curfew at 8pm for teens without parents/guardians = and from what I've heard, they DO enforce this. Also of slight annoyance are the occasional gauntlets of "end-times" Bible Bangers passing out literature that you have to pass through - as well as the guy passing out dvd's who STILL insists 9/11 was an inside job. But hey - freedom of speech is great and none of these things detract from overall sensory experience that is Market Night. It only lasts three hours but for some reason the fun seems to last longer. Its a treat for all ages and all senses. The only dicey part to me is the parking. It can be a challenge sometimes. I recommend coming earlier.. before they officially start; like around 4pm or so and stay for the fun. Wife and I try to spend an evening here once per season at the least. Forget going to Market Night for fruits/vegtables or the all important deep fried Twinkies on a stick, instead use your visit to this farmer's market as birth control. You can't walk more than six steps without running into a swarm of jail bait on a busy night yelling obscene things for attention. If you want to limit your exposure to annoying teenagers arrive by 5:30 pm to find decent parking in the CVS lot and head over to State by 6 pm. Also winter months are less crowded than summer but less vendors are present during this time too. Only half of the booths actually carry foodstuffs, the rest sell junk (hats, tupperware, glow in the dark swords, etc.) If you can't find your organic greens amid the stalls of useless items, than try checking out the other farmers market that is held Saturday am in a nearby field or sign up on Meetup.com to buy a share of local organic veggies. read more

Market Night is every Thursday and is a great event that brings the community together. There's usually a live act (band usually) in the plaza/picnic place on 5th St. All of State Street is filled with vendors selling everything from hats to succulents to soaps; food is everywhere; a section of it is devoted to the certified farmers market. Orange street between Redlands Blvd and Citrus is also closed off to allow people to roam freely and more vendors. The shops and restaurants are still open their regular hours on State St in addition to Market Night (e.g. Augie's, The State). My favorite food to get is the curry (fish curry and butter chicken are my favs). If I'm not feeling curry, I'll get a gyro. The BBQ at the end of the block is not that great and is way over-priced. The BBQ sauce was not homemade and was from a store-bought container (Sam's Club?). The Mexican stand with the jars of agua fresca is pretty delicious. Get the coconut agua fresca. Don't like coconut flavored things much but this is good. My only complaint is that there isn't traffic enforcement at the Redlands Blvd and Orange St intersection. It gets very busy, and when there are pedestrians, it feels unsafe crossing the crosswalks...especially when it gets darker. The stoplights are not functioning so it essentially becomes a 3-way stop. Wish there was a crosswalk guard. It gets very crowded and is most definitely popular so come early to snag a close parking spot! We usually try to see if there is parking between McDuffs and Bank of America. If we have to, we will park near Sizzle and walk bc it's not too far. We've also taken uber or lyft since we live in Redlands. ..fare is usually 5 or 6 bucks, and it is a stress-free way of getting there. read more

Three words: LOUD RELIGIOUS PEOPLE. I was there for almost 3 hours and for the entire duration of my visit, I was ear assaulted by people on megaphones telling me that I was a sinner who needed to repent. There was no escaping them as they looped around the entire market endlessly. They were hurting business. I could see nice people trying to sell their goods while wincing and rolling their eyes as the megaphone people blared over their conversations with customers. There were also nutjobs handing out pamphlets and conspiracy theory flyers seemingly every other booth. A pair of Jehovah's Witnesses also joined the party, roaming around and sharing their faith (albeit in a much more sane manner). Yeah, yeah first amendment rights... but I'm pretty sure the megaphone people are breaking noise laws/rules. Other than that, the vendors are generally very nice, amicable people and there's a lot to look at and do. Prices are on the high side for most things, though the produce can be fairly inexpensive. The crazy people are regulars, so I'm afraid I'm deterred from visiting in the future. read more

Pony rides, cotton candy, etc. Redlands people think everything in Redlands is fantastic, but if you're from any kind of actual city there is literally nothing to do here. A Farmers Market in the great city of Redlands. A great event for the entire family. Ive been coming to Market Night since before I was a resident of the city. Ive been in love ever since. Rain or Shine (although we dont really gt rain, which is why its year round). They shut down State street and some of Orange/Cajon. That way you can walk down state street and admire the booths without the dear of being run over by some drunken nut. There are a plethora of options as to how you could spend your money. Fresh fruit and veggies, homemade crafts and clothes. All the while you can still enjoy all the normal shops on State street. Parking is a beeeeyotch. I normally park in the CVS/Redlands Mall parking lot. Come. Enjoy. Buy me something. read more

Market Night in Redlands - Every Thursday from 6:00PM to 9:00PM They close off State Street for a line-up of various food, crafts, floral, entertainment, and informational vendors. They have kid games, activities, and even a pony ride. Lots and lots of food. Lots of fresh produce, baked goods, and just plain good eating! I always go there for the food (surprise surprise) :P. Mmmm Roasted corn with melted butter and chili powder/lemon pepper, bacon wrapped hot dogs, fresh kettle corn, gyros, and funnel cake are some of my constant purchases. I could go on, but there's too many! The vendors vary but most of the regulars are the same (if you go there enough you'll know which are regulars). Came here with my sister and brother in law. Great farmers market. Lots of fruit and veggie stands. Lots of people. Great food too. It is similar to the San Luis Obispo Farmers night I go to on Thursdays. Entertainment for everyone. The only thing I was put off by was this group of people who were animal activists. There was a guy with a mask on standing there with a tv screen showing videos of slaughter houses for cows, chickens, sheep and seafood. The videos were very graphic. It shows videos of cows being castrated. I had a hard time getting the images out of my head. I think this is inappropriate for this event. There were a lot of children with their families. And these people were set up right next to where kids were standing in line waiting to get into the bounce houses. And if you even stood there for a second, the people would approach you with there lecture on becoming vegan. Which explained why there were so many vegan food stands. More than half of the food stands were vegan. To each his own I say. But there should be a different venue for these people to get their point across. read more

Kind of a fun little farmer's market + market ...it's almost like a mini-fair. The vegetables and fruits aren't that bad in pricing (because usually it's like $4 for one product). But I got 4-5 nectarines for $4 and corn for 4 for $1. I love farmer's markets, and Market Night in Redlands is one of the better ones around. In addition to the locally grown fruits and veggies, it's always a different mix of food and merchandise vendors. For food, my personal favorites include the fresh squeezed lemonade and the fire-roasted corn on the cob, but you'll find everything from gyros to Mexican food to BBQ. Before you go, do understand that it gets crowded and there's always an interesting mix of people there. You'll find religious people handing out tracts. You'll find musicians with varying styles and degrees of talent providing entertainment. You'll find groups of teens being teens (but in a non-disruptive way). Market Night is an amazing Redlands tradition that brings the city together. Every Thursday night multiple city blocks in Downtown Redlands are closed down to allow for food trucks, vendors, and entertainment to flow throughout city streets. There's musicians and performers at every other block. The food vendors range from gourmet food trucks, Mexican food, Indian food, ribs, grilled corn, pizza, and that's just a few. There's also a full-on farmers market going know during Market Night. You can pick up all of your produce for the week while you're here. There's farmers market vendors who also sell eggs, and flowers. Market Night also brings in tons of people from neighboring cities. Whenever visiting Redlands, checking out Market Night is a must do. I'm glad the name distinguishes itself as a Market. Helps stop any confusion in believing it's a Farmer's market. Mainly just vendors with clothing, arts and crafts. There's a lot of food vendors for cheap, food on a stick type items. And of course, kettle corn. However, it's kind of lackluster. I walked the entire 4 blocks and came out the other end wishing there was more. Or maybe it's because there were vendors I wouldn't have expected at a Market. Who wants to discuss your home buying needs with a Century 21 realtor at a market?? It's a great place for a cheap date night to walk and people watch. read more

Yummy street foods - chocolate covered marshmallows and strawberry + raisin tamales. Good stuff. As farmers' markets go, this one is fairly modest. Ideally, you'd like to be able to buy everything here - produce, eggs, bread, prepared foods (e.g. flour, sauces), even meat. Hey, I'm hoping for choice and even organic when I go, but this place is really limited - considering that we're in CALIFORNIA (where most of the US's produce originates). Still, our family can buy at least half of its weekly produce here and the other at chain grocery stores. Moving from Chicago, I was disappointed to see this lack of diversity and that none of the farms that sell here offer CSA subscriptions. Hint to farmers - this is a *great* way to snag repeat business and word-of-mouth buzz. As a flea market, it's upscale. Meaning that the booths vary in quality and material - clothes, sunglasses, magnetic bracelets for inner balance, even a place to discuss evolution with locals. For free music, it's great. There's a pavilion with a good jazz, rock, or blues main act, then performers scattered along the stretch playing solo violin, guitar, etc. Bottom line - for the local Redlands scene, this is quintessential. For shopping, you'll probably be better off online. For produce/food, look to mix and match your purchases with purchases from Von's etc. read more

I had a good visit. After finishing my midterm, some friends and I decided to head over. We got lucky and found a spot right away but I can see that there isn't much parking to choose from. We passed a few hummus guys and bakers that had a bunch of free delicious samples. Take ADVANTAGE! Try some and you'll be hooked! Some veggie venders and others are a bit pricey but you get really fresh stuff. I didn't bother looking at the clothes but I did get a glimpse of some Hawaiian dancers and local choir. It's nice to stop and take in some culture. No need to worry about cash, most have cc capabilities on their smart phones. If not, it's right by the Citibank, BofA and Wells Fargo. Will be coming again for fruits and baked items! read more

We are in town visiting and it was so fun to com where! We got some great food, drinks and a few other things! The glycerin soap stand was awesome! They were knowledgeable and their soaps were awesome. The only downside is the petting zoo/animal area. I had three kids under 9 who couldn't ride the horses and they were bummed but I understand. I've been going to Market Night since I was a little kid...for 20+ years! After several years of not going (as I live in Long Beach now), I finally had a chance to visit and it was nice to see market night only changed for the better. They still have ponies for the kids to ride, a popcorn stand, facepainting, plenty of fruit and veggie vendors, beautiful and well priced bouquet of flowers, food vendors (nice to see Uncle Howie's is still serving out slices of pizza!), and more. I liked seeing even more food/produce vendors (esp those selling aguas frescas) as well as vendors selling various items like embroidered patches, fun socks, hair accessories, apparel, and more. It's also nice to see more businesses open on State St which makes it even more fun to walk around. But of course, with more attractions there's more people... parking is not impossible, especially with the Redlands Mall lot around, but expect to long walk to the market if you don't score something close! I could be biased but I really do think Redlands Market Night is some of the best around, even better that what I have visited in LA. I am glad it's pretty much the same as it was 20+ years ago, but only with even more to offer! read more
