My family, wife and 2 children have been going to this place for seven years now. I love this place and have recommended it to my friends and family. Sadly, this will be the last time i will enter this business and will bring my business somewhere else. I 've work in the ER for 20 years and have never treated any of my patients the way i was treated at this place. Front desk was very rude, confrontational, dismissive and kept talking over me and would not listen at any of my questions.. when i asked for her name.. she hanged up.. My wife called several times just to get her name and and was put in hold and never answered back.. Appalling customer service from the front desk. Certainly, i will bring my business somewhere else. I have been going to Redlands Optometry over 2o + years and first time ever disappointed in them. Try to make an appointment because I had an emergency situation with my right eye and I was told for an emergency situation that the insurance would not be covered that I would have to pay out of my pocket in order to see them for an emergency situation. Is this sad or what what's this world coming to. If I went to the emergency my insurance would pay for that that doesn't make no sense to me. The sad thing even at that I told her I will start looking for somewhere else to go and she said you can do that okay thank you and have a nice day. This was my third year going and I love all the doctors that I've seen so far! Dr. Enfield did my eye exam this time. Let me just say, she is so helpful and very good at explaining things. She explained things simply to me when I asked a lot of silly questions and she was very patient. I would recommend this place to anyone! Love Dr. Matejka. She is always so patient while giving me the eye tests and my prescriptions are always very accurate. She is the best doctor I've ever had in fine tuning my prescription. I've never had to come back to ask her to adjust the prescription I also appreciate they don't try to push you to buy anything but when I compared prices for contacts from one of the large chains their prices were very competitive. First time there, and after waiting for 50 minutes for my appointment I asked the woman working the front desk how much longer the wait would be. She rudely told me she doesn't know and can't give me how much longer I will be waiting. I never even got to see the dr. because the front office woman was so rude and definitely did not seem at all interested in my business. Stay away from this place. I went in to get some glasses, something that I have found to be very routine at other places. Not this place. I ordered my new glasses on June 7th and was told that they would be ready in 2 weeks, or 3 weeks at the latest. This seemed reasonable based upon my past experiences buying glasses. In fact, the other other places I have purchased glasses typically beat their estimates and had the glasses within 7 - 10 days. Not this place. I called them at about 2 weeks and they just told me that they would contact me when the glasses came in (the person did not even look up my account to provide an estimate). After over 1 month, I called again and was told that the glasses were not ready. When I asked them when they would be available, they said July 26th, 7 weeks after the order! I asked to speak with the manager, Tammy, and she was not helpful or pleasant. This is where it gets interesting. I then called to file a complaint with our insurance company, VSP. Once VSP got involved, this place called me and changed their story completely, they told me that they essentially lost my glasses! They had a record that my glasses had been received but they were unable to find them. Stay away from this place. read more

Have been coming here with my wife for 5+ years. Courteous staff and knowledgeable and friendly optometrists. Went during this pandemic for the first time and felt completely safe. Procedures have been changed for social distancing and mask wearing. The optometrist has extra tools to keep a little further away during the exam. Just finished my eye exam at Redlands optometry group with Dr. Darlene Matejka. She did an awesome job and was very thorough. The staff was very helpful and very knowledgeable on all the latest trends in eye wear. If you need an eye examination I would definitely recommend Redlands optometry group. I was a little nervous to buy my glasses they're thinking they would be expensive, not at all they were very reasonably price and very good quality. Mine came with a two-year warranty and the gentleman that helped me said I could bring them in anytime and get them adjusted and cleaned at no charge. definitely a five-star business. read more

This place is the absolute best. I needed a sunglass repair and I found this place on Yelp. I stopped by and the guy in front said he could fix them right then. I literally waited 3 minutes max and they were done. Best of all, it was completely free! The glasses were missing a screw and I offered to pay at least for the screw since they wouldn't let me for the service. They still said no it's free. I don't have any vision problems but I will definitely be telling everyone I know who does to go here! read more

My wife has been associated with Redlands Optometry for over 20 years and about 10 years myself. I always felt in the past that everything was handled professionally and in a timely manner. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Then the past couple of years, it has been hard to get an appointment within a reasonable amount of time. Late last year, I got a new set of frames for my prescription. Wishing the first couple of weeks, I had to bring them in to reattach the right side earpiece which came off. A few weeks later, I had to do it again and then two weeks ago while cleaning them, both sides came off in my hands. I didn't have time to get there after work because you close at 6 and are not open on Saturdays. My wife called and explained the problem to the Optician who said "What do you want me to do about it"? My wife said I would just like them fixed. Then the Optician told her that they have had problems with these frames. I think I should have at least been warned about that. Know it seems to have become my problem. It has been less than a year and I have insurance and feel these should be replaced. I was told I have to wait until October. I don't feel that is right since they have been fixed 3 times and they are still falling apart. She has been very rude to my wife and I. I have now been told that have been sent back to the manufacturer to look at and it will at least be a couple of weeks. The customer service here is very poor and when any questions are asked, she never has an answer but just looks at us like what do you expect me to do. I said that I just want them fixed. I don't have the time to keep going down there and waiting. Ask a lot of questions before you buy the frames because obviously by her own words they sell frames that have issues. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

At one time, the Redlands Optometry Group was responsible and reliable but now anymore. I have had struggles receiving a reliable prescription from the owner of this optometric group and in other areas with this company. She gave me one exam but it didn't seem correct. I compared it to an opthamologist's prescription, which I had before this exam. I asked her to redo the exam and then she dialed in numbers that more cooresponded to the opthamologist's prescription and it seemed as if it was a better prescription for me. So, the company then ordered lenses for my glasses; however, someone who ordered them did not order high-index lenses which I need for my prescription. Also, the another technician ordered lenses not from the company I usually use but a subsiderary that this company bought. The subsiderary is inferior in the way of creating progressive lenses that are not as accurate. When the frames came back there the lenses were not high-index, they were too thick and the lenses were not high quality. They would do a redo only if they didn't have to change the lenses to high -index, which doesn't make sense as my prescription calls for high-index lenses. read more

I wished i could rate zero stars for this. My appointment was at 9am with dr matejka. They kept me wait for over 45 minutes and then finally told me that they had to rescheduled my appointment because the new doctor didn't show up. The restroom was very dirty and trash can was totally full. I was made appointment with dr matejka at the beginning and was confirmed but they later told me that dr matejka had full schedule and didn't accept new patients so they switched me over to the bew intern who never showed up. I walked in on a Monday mid-morning to see if I could book an appointment and they were able to see me immediately! The staff were very friendly and helpful. I knew they took my insurance, as most of my co-workers go there, but they were very kind and went out of their way to let me know that they were going to get the benefits for me. I was having some issues with my vision and Dr Matejka addressed all of my concerns. She was very prompt coming in to the room and really took her time to make sure I understood what she was doing. I had tried to call first, but got an answering service, so I just stopped in. I love the selection of frames, both regular glasses and sun glasses. I highly recommend this place for family eye wear. The staff allows you to look around without pressuring you. They offer a wide variety of frames from all brands you'd expect and then some. They make sure you are completely satisfied with the fit and feel of your glasses. Great prices compared to the national chain that promises "glasses in about an hour." I recently went to Redlands Optometry Group for the first time. It was a really good experience, and I will go back. The staff and doctors were very friendly and thorough. They have a great selection of eyeglasses, and the contacts they recommended feel great. My only issue is with the online appointment tool. It's not linked to their schedule, so you can't really make appointments with it. I tried it, but they called to schedule a different day and time. It's best to just call for an appointment. I recommend going to ROG for exams and for getting glasses and contacts. read more

I used Redlands Optometry in 2014 when I first moved to California, they did great work for a reasonable price so when it was time for a new R/X I went back, Dr. Araya was still there and she is still a very good doctor, the staff are still very efficient, they still have a good selection and reasonable prices. i really enjoyed being seen by Dr Barajas. he's very intelligent and makes sure you understand what's going on with your eyes. his consults are very personalized. all the doctors have been great and Ben is wonderful with helping you with fittings. my only complaint is the young man who's the tech that takes you to the machines to check your eye pressure and other tests just prior to sitting with the doctor. i'm not sure if he's new. i've already informed the office and hope they can change the tech's bad habit. otherwise, great clinic!! read more

I was really struggling with an ongoing eye issue for months that was causing me discomfort and distress, and I was so happy that Dr. Barajas resolved this issue during my exam. He gave me probably the most thorough exam I've ever received in my lifetime, and he was very patient and professional. I felt very comfortable expressing my concerns with him during my exam and was impressed with his attention to detail in finding a solution that worked for me. It is a relief knowing my concerns matter to the staff at the Redlands Optometry Group, since our vision and eye health is so critical. I wouldn't trust my eye care to anyone else. I came a few years ago and did not have a great experience with the front desk staff. But after subsequent visits, I'm glad I gave them another try. The woman at the front desk was great this time, as was the optician, and the doctor. I appreciate that Dr. Enfield addressed all of my concerns, gave me a prescription and recommendations, and several contact lenses to try before I commit to my final prescription. I also ordered glasses, and Ben was terrific at helping me finalizing my selection. They have great brands and a good selection. Went in today because the dog destroyed my glasses. Located them via yelp as I was riding down the street. 2 miles away... 10 minutes later I had my lenses in a new frame and was out the door, at moderate expense. Now I can see to get home! I went in looking for sunglasses with a prescription and money in hand. I have never been to this office and after my experience here I will never be back! The front desk didn't even acknowledge me when I walked in and even though they had plenty of staff nobody ever asked if they could help me. I had to wave one of the opticians down to open a case for me! Poor selection and horrible customer service! read more

My previous experience in 2013 was okay. The lab tech helping me pick out my glasses was awesome, efficient and knowledgable. However, the optometrist at that time (whom is no longer there) told me my vision had greatly improved compared to the prescription I had been wearing for over 10 years. When my glasses arrived I could not see clearly and had a horrible headache in less than 30 minutes of wearing them. Thankfully, the clerks helped me return the glasses, and I saw an intern to "redo" my vision tests. All was corrected and new glasses were ordered. Thankfully, when I went in June of 2015 for a vision appointment and to get new presciption sunglasses and regular glasses, my experience was excellent. My appointment was on time and the optometrist was professional and quick with my routine eye tests. I was especially appreciative of the assistant helping to pick out new glasses. It is unfortunate that I can not remember her name, but she had helped me 2 years before and was just as professional, helpful, and knowledgable. She even helped me claim a warranty with Maui Jim to have my lenses fixed for free that saved me over $300. That is customer service that is hard to come by these days and so refreshing. read more

I should have given this review a while ago, but better late than never.. I had called Redlands optometry in spring of last year, (beginning of pandemic) looking for someone who could repair my glasses since my own optometry place (Kaiser) was closed down.. I was told they would try and to bring them in.. the staff and optometrist were in full pandemic protocol, and I had to wait in my car until the lobby was clear.. when it was my turn, they called me on my cell, and I went in, only to be told (nicely, though) that they couldn't be repaired.. I explained they were my only pair and Kaiser optometry was closed so I couldn't get new ones. the optometrist said he would see what he could do..he essentially found another frame that he modified to work with my rimless Airllocs . It was more than I would have spent with my insurance, but I am very grateful that they were willing to help when I had no other options. THANK YOU! read more

I haven't been to the eye Dr. in a very long time. Redlands Optometry made the experience an easy one. Their hours easily accommodated my work schedule. I went in for contacts and struck put with the first pair, the Dr. assured me she still had "some tools in her tool box" and to not give up. She gave me another set and so far so good. I also wanted to get some regular glasses and let me tell you the have an amazing selection of frames. The also can change the lenses in my sunglass. All this the super friendly staff and Dr. I'm sold. Definitely the place to go for all you eye Dr. Needs. read more
