They found multiple issues like intake leaks, an injector problem, and a radiator leak, but I never felt pressured to fix everything at once. I really appreciated that they worked with me and let me prioritize what I could afford. I ended up fixing the main issue, and the misfire is now gone. The car is running much better. Repairs aren't cheap, but I felt like they were honest and transparent throughout the whole process. Communication was great, and I always knew what was going on. So on a coworker's recommendation I wound up here. And now I won't go anywhere else. They have always been honest and fair and since Juan has taken over as manager it's been more of the same for me. Everything is very straightforward and I know what to expect when I drop off my truck. I can assure you- in 14 years I have definitely gotten some calls I don't want to hear but with an older vehicle this is to be expected. And always, even though I may not WANT to replace this or that part, the prices are fair. People tend to write reviews when they're upset and want the world to know they've been screwed. And that's understandable. But often we forget to write reviews when things go well. And that's not fair to places that seem to genuine try to do the right thing. So... I go here. My daughters go here. I tell my coworkers to go here. And I suppose that'll continue for the foreseeable future. One thing I will say... because I've been going here so long I've spent some time in that lobby. And it's worth noting people come in with some absolutely insane requests- I mean, just effing nuts. And when they don't get their way it simply doesn't compute in their brains. And those are often the people who write crappy reviews. And I don't just mean for this place. So keep that in mind.

So for this place to keep insisting my spark plugs needed replacement was insulting to me and my trusted mechanics. Also, I don't know if prices are higher here due to proximity to CA, but labor was over $50 higher per hour. Shame on me for not shopping around, but I relied on the overall good rating this shop received.

My husband suggested that I check with Reno Vulcanizing to see if they could perform some of the services. I thought that was a great idea so I made an appointment for a brake fluid flush. I took it in this morning and saw Markus. He was very knowledgeable and couldn't have been nicer. He asked me how I knew I needed to have the brake fluid replaced. I told him that the other shop had recommended it. Before I left, he suggested we go check the fluid. He took a sample of it from the engine, said it was the right color, didn't look dirty and told me that based on the mileage since it was last changed, that it didn't need to be replaced today. I appreciate his honesty and his knowledge. He jokingly told me to save my money. Because of his honesty, integrity, knowledge, and excellent customer service skills, I'm certainly going to take all my cars to Reno Vulcanizing for all future services.

I called to make an appointment for fluid exchanges as my car is nearing 90,000 miles. Before they scheduled the fluid exchanges I requested, they offered to do research to look into my specific make, model, and year to ensure that the items I was asking for would be due and pertinent. They called back within 10 minutes, gave me the research the found, and suggested a transmission exchange service and brake fluid exchange. I dropped my car the morning of my appointment and they were done before 2:00. This is the first car shop I've been to that doesn't smell of oil and tires. And the men behind the counter were dressed nicely in button down shirts with ties. They explained what the services would entail and what they should help with. And boy did my car sound and drive better than she has in a while! I recently went online to schedule an oil change and it was the easiest scheduling platform I've used. So I scheduled a 9:00 am appointment for a diagnosis. Took the day off. I got there at 8;45 am. They told me they could not diagnose it till 3:00 pm. I showed them my email with a 9:00am appointment They said, oh most people just drop their car off. Their appointments have no meaning. English words have meaning but not to them. My car was ready in about 75 minutes. I'll take it. I had a simple brake fluid flush. My car was returned clean (no greasy finger prints), the service light was reset and my brakes performed as expected.
