I looked for a Trek Portland everywhere and could only find one online at Redmond Cycle (and also on clearance!:) ) RC was great as I emailed for them to hold it for me til I could drive down from Bellingham. Did a nice one hour test ride on the Burke and loved it. Needed some tweaking from a component standpoint and Rob gave me a good deal on new bar and an friendlier seat. They told me it would be done by noon on Monday July 4th and indeed it was. When I called to check on the status, they knew exactly who I was and were very personable and friendly. In Bellingham, Kulshan Cycle is the BEST but I was happy to drive down to Redmond Cycles to get the bike I wanted at a great price. read more

Harris was phenomenally helpful and patient as our little girl changed her mind more than once. I bought my first commuter bike from Redmond Cycle about one week ago. Unlike other posters, I received prompt service as soon as I walked in the door. Two employees helped me find the perfect bike for me. They allow you to test drive the bikes around the block and resize each bike for you. I was in the store about 45 minutes each time and the sales people never lost patience. One employee even skipped her lunch break to help me find the right bike! Redmond Cycle carries mostly Trek and Giant bikes which they offer in price ranges from $150 to $4000+. The prices are very reasonable, often $50 or more less than the suggested retail price. I looked at bikes at Sammamanish Valley Cycle and REI before deciding to purchase my bike at Redmond Cycle, a decision that I have not yet doubted. The staff at Redmond Cycle fitted the bike for me and even gave me a quick tune-up before I left the store. After I rode the bike for a week, I noticed a problem with shifting so I biked right back into the store and staff fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes, free of charge. Although the prices may be more expensive than big box department stores, the cost advantage is clear when you receive such excellent customer service (prices are comparable to REiI and cheaper than Redmond Cycle). I get a free bike tune-up after 90 days and the store helps me learn a lot more about the different types of bikes. read more

Redmond Cycle is a great, family owned business - the kind we like to support. We've been shopping at Redmond Cycle for over five years now. In that time we've bought 7 bikes from them - one for each of our kids and 2 each for me and my wife. We've always received excellent advice and great service. The staff has always been helpful and free with the advice - and even willing to accommodate some of our weird requests (you want to a put a Mountain Bike derailer on your carbon fiber bike? Poor customer service indeed. Every time I go in this place just for something "small and quick" I walk out feeling completed had and overcharged. Takes forever to get a bike back from a tune and the tunes are poor. Came in to pick up my bike when instructed and the work had not been completed. They said they didn't have the tools to do it in stock, but hadn't bothered to call and tell me! They still charged me, and then argued with me when I questioned them! Stellar service and great selection. I visited several shops around town looking for a new road bike, and was happily surprised by the friendly help I received. Peter gave knowledgeable advice, let me take my time to try out a couple of his recommendations, and the decision was easy from there. He even fitted my helmet for me when I was wrapping up. Went to Redmond Cycle to look for a new bike seat for my old bike. Instead of trying to sell me an upgrade, Peter tool over an hour trying different seats on my bike and making sure I had the proper fit for a guy my size. The shop provided excellent service too, just fixing what was truly needed, very promptly and at a very competitive price. When the debit card merchant service accidently double charged my account, Brian took the initiative and straightened out the billing mistake. All in all, excellent customer service! read more

I've been going to Redmond Cycle for four years now. While they're a smaller family shop that can't quite match the inventory of some of the larger shops such as REI or Gregg's, they more than make up for it in customer service. Every time I've been in, I've received a friendly greeting and assistance finding whatever I was looking for. I've bought several bikes there, plenty of parts, and had some repairs done, and it has all been a great experience. They're good people. read more

I ended up buying a bike from Redmond Cycle, but only because they were the only ones in town who had what I wanted. Service was somewhere between snotty and just indifferent, and very slow. I was in 4 times to check out and test ride the bike I wanted, and worked with 3 different people, so it wasn't just one bad apple, they were all pretty bad. If you don't know exactly what you want and are sure you're getting a fair deal, I wouldn't suggest this shop. In fact while I was waiting (something you'll do a lot of here) I overhead one of the employees pushing a mountain bike with disc brakes and lockout suspension to someone who came in asking for something "to commute about 3 miles to work on, mostly on paved paths with a few gravel sections". Terrible. The good part is the products - not so much the people. read more

I'm very unhappy with the results of extensive servicing to my bike. They missed their delivery date twice. The tech wastefully required twice the brake and derailleur housing than necessary ($81 wasted), did not ride-test the bike when the work was 'complete,' and worst of all, left the spokes in both wheels so loose that the wheels where pinging and flexing -- a dangerous situation. For $300 in labor charges, the results were far below acceptable. read more

I went in twice and spoke with three sales people. Each one gave me information and good advise even though they knew I was not purchasing. I will certainly come back to buy in the future. It is great that they are right by the Redmond end of the Burke Gilman Trail. read more

The older works (owners?) are great; they'll spend lots of time figuring out what you need and are happy to fix things. The younger employees are terrible. They act like you're an idiot, and resent you for pointing out when they screw up a fix. read more

We just had a great experience with Redmond Cycle! We are beginner cyclers and knew that we didn't want to spend a fortune and weren't going for the gold in terms of our bike needs. We were looking for two comfortable bikes that would get us around town and let us enjoy some of the local trails. The staff at Redmond Cycle was so helpful from the second we walked in the door! After showing us some bikes and explaining the options that would best fit our needs, we stepped out of the store and visited three other stores in the area to compare prices and see what else was out there. After visiting other stores, we quickly returned to Redmond Cycle to purchase our new bikes and gear. So happy we made our purchase with them and so happy they're in the neighborhood for repairs, maintenance, future purchases, etc. I would highly recommend Redmond Cycle to any of my friends or family! The customer service at this store is an apathy and their service charges are astronomical. I see this has been a trend at this store for quite a while. Not only do they not greet you but also actively ignore you if they're chatting up another customer. It's just plain bad customer service to not even acknowledge a customer's presence. After a lot of research I decided to buy my new bike at this store because this was the closest to my home and the store ratings were decent. The store representative who showed me the bikes is socially inept and gives pretty blunt answers to most questions. I also wanted to get fenders for my bike but my better half said she will take care of it as a Christmas gift. Come next Christmas I get a nice set of fenders with a $50 store gift card. So, the store promised her that these fenders are a good fit for my bike and it can be easily mounted on the bike. After a hour of attempting to fix it I found that I would need additional parts to mount it. So, I take it to the same shop. They store guy says they need to cut the v-stays to size. They conveniently missed stating this at purchase. Alright, I give them the benefit of the doubt and ask them to mount the fenders. They promptly state it's going to cost me $40. The first person I talk to says they can mount it the same day which sounds reasonably. then the same person a few minutes later says it will take 3 days to mount the fenders. Although this sounds ridiculous, since I don't want to bike to another shop at that point I yield. 3 days later I walk to the store (no phone calls to notify whether it's done of not) and find out that it's going to cost me $80!! They claim they had to use extra parts ($5) and the rest is labor. I express my displeasure at not being consulted before incurring the surcharges and they drop $10. So, I end up paying $30 more than what was quoted . The front fender is scuffed and the chain touches the derailleur. So they charged me a extra for a shoddy service. They were not the least apologetic about the fact that they recommended an ill fitting fender and then charged me twice their normal fee to mount it and took 3 days to do so. I will not go to this store again. read more

I have visited this store only a few times and I think that is the way it is going to stay. The first time my husband & I were there, we were completely ignored. I don't want to say it has anything to do with color, but one can't help think that if everyone else is tended to but us. So, we just left. Then, the second time I visited the store, it was almost closing and I bought the Sidi cycling shoes. I asked the salesperson if I could return these, as they were on sale and he said YES! So, I bought them, went home, tried them and it turned out to be larger than what I needed. So, the next day I went back to the store to return the shoes. As usual, one sales person attending another person just ignored me. She could have said, I'll be with you in a moment or something. Finally, someone came along and I think it might have been the owner (an oldish lady). She asked me the reason and I said, they were the wrong size. She asked me if I had not tried them before buying. I said no because you guys were closing and she says, you see we usually don't take back things that are on sale. I told her that I had confirmed this with the salesperson before buying and he said otherwise. She added by saying, I thought someone else bought it for you, maybe? How stupid are you? I am returning it on my credit card, how could someone else have bought it for me? Du-uh! Anyway, that transaction done, I am sure that I would never return to this store again. When you are colored, you have a gut feeling about people's reactions to you. And I am not the sort to over-read into things. But this time, I am sure my color was too pretty to ignore. Furthermore, all aside, I would not recommend this store because there are plenty more. I have decided that stores like these sell things cheap for a reason and it is because they are cheap in character and class. I would spend the money any day and visit Sammamish Valley Cycles or Veloce Velo or Gregg's or even Performance, they are all so much nicer, not to mention more educated on the matters of customer satisfaction. read more

The owners were unapologetic regarding the dangerous conditions and disappointment caused by their repair department. I asked for a new tire and a new tube for a big biking event. Their expert said my tire was fine and just replaced the tube. The tire failed on the ride and was obviously, visibly, improperly mounted as well as split at the beginning of the ride - which I and the repair person should have caught. A friend noticed the flaw when we were at the trail head. We had to cover the frayed cords on the inside of the tire with duct tape just to make it through the initial part of the ride in a remote location. I had foolishly trusted the bike shop "experts" to get it right. A proper apology would have gone a long ways. I was looking for a new Giant mountain bike from Redmond Cycle but the experience has me meeting Saturday with a bike shop that offers the Santa Cruz Heckler bike model. I had previously purchased 5 bikes from Redmond Cycle. read more
