Easy peezy, lemon squeezy. Except my car is no lemon, because it passed smog! And let me just say, it was a breeze. I parked my car, signed a form, waited 15 minutes, gave him my credit card, signed a credit card receipt, and I was on my way. From near empty, we filled up our car here and within a couple of blocks, our car died. We had it towed to a mechanic who determined that there was a large amount of water in the tank, roughly five gallons. The cost to remove and dispose of the contaminated gas was several hundred dollars. The owner would take no responsibility for his contaminated product. Beware when buying gas here. read more

I blew the heater core today on my 87 Samurai today with a tank full of gas so that was the last thing I needed when it happened. I pulled into the 76 station almost ready to pay my 75 cent to the machine that dispenses water and air. I had the change but only two quarters. Ready to exchange my nickels and dimes the cashier waves me off as I make the request. Free water from the machine. California law states that "free" air and water is entitled only if you buy gas. None was purchased on this visit. This is how you treat your regulars although I'm not sure I was recognized. I buy most of my diesel here for my 1980 300sd turbo. It's the only location that sells it in south redondo. read more

Took my 2004 Honda pilot in for smog check. Had my fingers crossed it would pass! The service was spectacular! He took my truck in immediately and told me it would take 20 to 30 minutes, but they were done in 10. All the paperwork is filed for you, just pay the $58 for everything and I was done. I was seriously appalled at the attitude and behavior yesterday at this gas station. Isn't air and water supposed to be "FREE?".......I arrived there on my bike desperately needing air in my back tire. I proceeded to try and put air in my tire and it kept deflating. I asked the man in the booth why it wasn't working and he said you have to pay 50cents!! I said, "Isn't air supposed to be free?" and he replied, "Only free to paying customers!".....well, I'm no longer a customer of this gas station. The Mobil across the street was ever so gracious in helping me and the air was FREE!! read more

We took our Acura MDX 2006 here, after referred by Catalina Auto that no longer performs that service. Owner Sam, a nice and sincere guy, hooked up the recharge right away. It took about 10 minutes and he examined the lines for leaks, eventually findings that the schrader value was leaking. He told us how to handle that issue too. We were impressed and will use him again soon, hopefully not too soon. read more

Easiest, most painless smog check ever. Rolled into the station at about 4:30 and we were warmly greeted by Eric, the owner. He ushered us to a cute little mosaic tiled patio area walled off from the cars whizzing by on PCH, offered us some bottled water, and we were on our way less than 20 minutes, smog check certificate in hand. Had a Smog check on 6/18/13. All went well. $58 and very friendly, efficient and fair service. I waited for the service to be performed and was out of there in 30 minutes. I would definitely recommend for Smog checks. I can not comment on general service repairs although I did get a quote for front brake service. $225 seemed a bit high. I will be doing them myself. I was very surprised by the service that I experienced at 76. I was recommended to go here to get my lights and brake certificate. Sam was such a friendly gentlemen and made me feel very comfortable. The service at this station is above anything I have experienced before. I used to HATE getting my smog check done. I saw the reviews here and it was close to home so I gave it a try. I didn't call ahead of time and luckily didn't have to wait at all since they just finished the car before me. I had my baby with me so I didn't know how patient she would be but I was told I could wait in the outside patio. The outside patio was great! There was a legitimate patio set with tons of magazines, a huge umbrella to block the sun and mosaic animal art on the walls which was perfect for my baby! I was probably there for 20 minutes total, if that. I'm used to waiting in some dirty garage for at least 45 minutes so when the man told me he was done in 20, I was surprised. He was super sweet and said he rushed since I had my baby with me but we were actually enjoying ourselves on the patio and all the mosaic animals. Also, the price was cheaper than what I was used to. Definitely the best smog check ever! read more
