Drake Park is a space with potential, but it is in definite need of consistent care, maintenance,…read moreand stronger oversight from park staff. My family and I have visited this park on several occasions for picnics and playtime with my nephew and niece, and each visit has included experiences that could use significant improvement. The atmosphere and activity level of the park seem to vary depending on the weather and time of day. One of the first challenges visitors may encounter is the parking situation--particularly within the circular parking area near the end of the road. The issue is not necessarily the angle of the parking itself, but rather the layout, which seems to encourage inconsiderate parking habits. During busier hours, people frequently attempt to park bumper-to-bumper without regard for surrounding vehicles, making the area unnecessarily difficult to navigate. Upon settling into the park, it became immediately noticeable that the picnic tables were not being properly maintained. Many of the tables were covered in bird droppings, dried food residue, and other questionable debris. These areas clearly require daily cleaning and routine power washing in order to remain sanitary and usable for the public. The restroom conditions were even more concerning. Drake Park has two separate bathroom areas, and one of them was in extremely poor condition. The level of filth was excessive and appeared to reflect a lack of routine upkeep and sanitation. The individual stalls, floors, doors, and toilets were all noticeably unclean, making the facilities difficult to use comfortably or safely. During one visit, an unrelated woman aggressively approached my family and began yelling that my nephew and his grandmother could not use one of the restroom areas. The behavior was startling, inappropriate, and completely unacceptable, especially toward children in a public park environment. Another recurring issue at this location is the lack of supervision among some of the children using the playground areas. While my nephew and niece were attempting to play and socialize respectfully, a group of unattended children began singling out my niece with insults, sneering remarks, and inappropriate name-calling. No parents or guardians were present to correct the behavior, which ultimately required intervention from me directly. The situation was disappointing and reflected a broader lack of supervision and accountability within the park environment. Overall, Drake Park currently attracts an atmosphere that often feels chaotic and poorly managed. Public parks reflect the level of care invested into them, and when maintenance, cleanliness, and oversight are neglected, it inevitably impacts the quality of the environment and the behavior it attracts. With stronger upkeep, improved sanitation, and more visible management presence, this park could become a far more welcoming and enjoyable space for families and the surrounding community.

Sure, the ETA was a little overstated, but in a world where instant gratification is the norm, sometimes being patient and trusting in the universe is just good for the soul. Definitely recommend this place.

So sucks to leave a bad review on a local business but here we go. Also to note this has nothing to…read moredo with inventory, prices or location, as I cannot base this review on that criteria. This is being based upon the communication, or lack thereof. So about 3 weeks back I receive an email from the shop about an sb release of the Nardwaur dunks. which I was going to try my best online and if not grab on the secondary market. Knowing I could get them local was a dope idea, so as soon as I got the email, I rang them up just asking the basics, "will there be a raffle, will there be a lineup, etc" the guy on the phone, while nice enough said he didn't know yet and check instagram for updates. I don't have an ig and asked if I called back the week of the release will there be any info? He said should be and I said ok I'll ring back then. Flash forward to the week of, I call on the Monday of that week during business hours, went to their answering message, left a detailed message and was waiting for a call back. Next day go on their website and use their chat/messaging feature that said they would message me back. Here we are today no message or call back. Just wanted to support local, but I can't if I don't know how to go about purchasing something that I know won't sit on the shelf's for long. I know they won't be out the money, but just sucks in general.
