The play area is firehouse themed so my son enjoys pretending to be a fireman. There are 4 swings, 2 smaller slides, and 1 bigger slide. The mulch flooring can be a little annoying, especially if not wearing closed shoes. Park also has a basketball court and baseball field. The grassy area is also often used for soccer and ultimate Frisbee on the weekends. Overall a great place for a kid to get some energy out and not bad for adults to run around a little too. The bad: There's just street parking. There's noise from the street traffic. The playground doesn't have shade. The shade beam looks like it could be replaced. The interesting: They have a small free little library nook. The fence by the playground has a beware of dog sign from the neighboring house. I'm unsure if there's any actual dog threat. There's a small public restroom by the grass area.

A good friend of ours lives in this middle class neighborhood and we go here for picnics or her kids' birthday parties. It's not a destination park, just a great little park for people in the area to enjoy. The terrain has many small hills and trees. There are a few flat areas that kids will use to play soccer. You'll find a couple basketball hoops, a basic playground, a couple picnic tables, charcoal grills, plenty of bench seating and a surprisingly clean but basic-city-park-style bathroom. There is plenty of space to have a bouncy-house or other entertainment for a children's party. One interesting thing is that there is often a cool breeze blowing through this park which can sometimes be quite strong. Our friend refers to it as being a wind tunnel. Nothing fancy but the kids will love it.

The bathrooms are horrible; only one of the stalls in the women's restroom has a door, no seat covers, no trash cans, no paper towels and usually no toilet paper. When we play softball here we have to bring a "potty bag" with soap, toilet paper, etc. I was told the men's restroom has no doors. The parking is scarce and the train that goes by is terribly loud! They double booked our softball games with a field softball practice - which doesn't surprise me because it seems like nothing at this park is well managed. I only go to this park when I absolutely have to- like for softball games. Let's talk about field conditions; most outfielders know that this is "the best" or rather the worse place for sprained ankles! There are so many mounds and gopher holes in the grass that rolling an ankle or tripping is inevitable. This summer I noticed that there is now a makeshift dirt track for remote control off-road trucks. It's super random but nice if you're into that. Not so nice for the people playing softball because that dirt track is in the perfect place to blow clouds of dirt into our direction so you get a nice mouthful of dirt if you're running to first base! Unfortunately I have no choice to play softball here since I signed up to play before I realized what park it was at. I wish I could say this park "used to be good" but it has honestly been this way for years. Hopefully next year we play somewhere else until then please say a prayer for our ankles.

[Review #831] 2024-032…read more I forgot that we visited Paradise Park years ago... I think it was a walking field trip from H's daycare/preschool: Leap & Bound Academy? My husband wanted to come back & visit a different park, & this one has some different & interesting play structures, including Saturn, train, & submarine. It does have your standard playground equipment; monkey bars, slide, swings, etc. that separates the big kids from the little ones for safety. The park has a large grassy field for frisbee, soccer, or just running around playing tag. And plenty of trees for shade! The park seems dog-friendly as we spotted several dog walkers during our playtime. There's a shaded picnic area for you to hold a small party, or hang out with friends; with picnic tables & BBQ grills spread out through the park. With the lack of food traffic, the BBQ grills & picnic tables could used some maintenance (rusted grills) &/or clean-up (cobwebs on grills, bird poop on tables). There's a tennis court somewhere; I haven't been but another reviewer posted a pic of the courts. And restrooms are available... again, don't know where but a couple reviewers mentioned they're near the tennis courts; however, there's no stall doors & they're dirty. Oh no! There's no parking lot that I'm aware of, but there's enough street parking around the park's perimeter. Not our ideal park due to its distance from home, but a fun layover when we wanted something different.
