I remember walking through this dirt field on the way to High School and back my poor white shoes would get so dusty with the dirt on it. Once they built the park it was nice green grass and the dirt trail to walk on around it. Then they added the kids playground. Along the dirt trail there are stops for workouts like doing push ups with the bar installed etc. Overall a nice place for picnics, soccer play for the wide open field and in the back corner a backstop for baseball which they did get rid of a few years ago.

The great thing about the surrounding neighborhood is that there are plenty of cars in the driveway, which means people are at home all of the time!

The playground is great for kids with plenty of space to run around and play, and the equipment is well maintained. One of the highlights is the basketball court right next to the playground, which makes it a great spot for both kids and adults. You can shoot some hoops while the kids play, or just hang out and enjoy the open space. The park is clean, well lit at night, and feels safe and family-friendly. Overall, a great local park and definitely a spot we'll keep coming back to.

There's a basketball court and a grassy area surrounded by a sidewalk (good for little kids to ride their tricycle). I came on a Sunday morning and it was completely empty. The bad: There's just street parking. There's noise from the street traffic. The playground doesn't have shade. The shade beam looks like it could be replaced. The interesting: They have a small free little library nook. The fence by the playground has a beware of dog sign from the neighboring house. I'm unsure if there's any actual dog threat. There's a small public restroom by the grass area.

This is hands down my worst review because this is hands down THE WORST PARK in Torrance. I feel…read morelike the city forgets about this park or simply doesn't care. The bathrooms are horrible; only one of the stalls in the women's restroom has a door, no seat covers, no trash cans, no paper towels and usually no toilet paper. When we play softball here we have to bring a "potty bag" with soap, toilet paper, etc. I was told the men's restroom has no doors. The parking is scarce and the train that goes by is terribly loud! They double booked our softball games with a field softball practice - which doesn't surprise me because it seems like nothing at this park is well managed. I only go to this park when I absolutely have to- like for softball games. Let's talk about field conditions; most outfielders know that this is "the best" or rather the worse place for sprained ankles! There are so many mounds and gopher holes in the grass that rolling an ankle or tripping is inevitable. This summer I noticed that there is now a makeshift dirt track for remote control off-road trucks. It's super random but nice if you're into that. Not so nice for the people playing softball because that dirt track is in the perfect place to blow clouds of dirt into our direction so you get a nice mouthful of dirt if you're running to first base! Unfortunately I have no choice to play softball here since I signed up to play before I realized what park it was at. I wish I could say this park "used to be good" but it has honestly been this way for years. Hopefully next year we play somewhere else until then please say a prayer for our ankles.

They'd rather stay indoors on computer, on phones (social media) or just lounge around watching tv. Life is happening all around you. Get up get out and get going. Plus, doing activities at the park is a healthy move keeps the kids actively involved in something rather it's playing basketball, passing a ball around, tag, roller skating, skate boarding, on the playground (monkey bars, slides, swings) etc. I miss this for the kids today. I'm so happy I gave two very active boys whose into sports (basketball) so why not take advantage! The park is where kids need to be doing living an active healthy life.

NOW THIS IS WHEN I WISH I COULD GIVE 0 STARS !!!!! Not to the park but to the Sherriff, Lawndale PD, and the local neighbors. They were very rude and racist. They sent police TO THE PUBLIC park (In which we paid to rent out the center), and they first made up a story that someone reported street racing *we were all parked and had been parked for hours* and then he came right back around trying to be apologetic about the reason we were there, he still said now that neighbors were reporting noise and DANCING. I didn't know dancing was a crime!!!!! Now just the week prior we were there for my Uncle who is of another race and there were no problems and the same things were occurring in the center and parking lot but now this time around it's African Americans and now it's an issue. They had a police car sitting adjacent to the park for the remainder of the event which made us feel harrassed and we ended up leaving our paid event due to being uncomfortable and afraid of what other lies an issues they were going to create. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN AND ONLYYYYYY BECAUSE OF THIS!!! If you need somewhere to book an event I would suggest them. Just make sure you guys are not dancing, it might be mistaken for a crime smh

It's adjacent to the public library. My daughter enjoyed the playground here and liked the rock-climbing part of the playground. The bad: The picnic area looks worn down and outdated. The park is on the smaller side. One of the big trash cans was cracked and had a giant hole at the bottom. One of the circular stepping components of the park was missing. The interesting: The park ground was a mix of sand and the springy floor.

And a basketball court. There is a good-sized clubhouse that appears to have a lot of programs going on, including one for Seniors. And next to the clubhouse I discovered 4 shuffleboard courts (in photo). I wonder if they ever get used. As a kid, I loved the game. (I liked croquet too, I was a weird kid.) Walteria Library is conveniently located next to the park. I posted about 10 photos.
