Redondo Beach Pier is one of my favorite places to come and relax. There are so many good places to eat and sit down while enjoying the beautiful ocean views. There are also lots of fun things to do! You can go paddle boating or take a glass-bottom boat ride and see sea lions, seals, fish, and sometimes even dolphins. On beautiful sunny days, the water can be so clear and blue that it almost looks like the Caribbean. It's absolutely gorgeous! Such a fun and relaxing place to spend the day. read more

The Redondo beach is narrow and stretched along the coastal line, and the area is known for fishing activities and seafood market. It depends on the time visiting, the sunsets could be beautiful here too. I've visited many times in the past, and always found something new here. read more

When you're able to start your day with such beautiful views with the sun, beaming down on the sand making it warm so that every touch throughout your toes is comforting. You just can't ask for much more than that. We took a nice little stroll up and down the beach as I gave my honey opportunity to use his metal detector lol just the way of having a little bit of fun. Nothing too sentimental or extravagant or expensive was found in the sand. A lot of bottle caps and just random pieces of metal throughout. Many of things are coming up pretty deep so we decided not to really dig into the sand to disturb it anymore. Once we were finished with our stroll. There was a fun, cool little old school, historic wood panel a wagon that was turned into a small husband, wife gelato/coffee/pastry kiosk. We both had gelato which was really good and tasted really fresh. The one thing that they do not serve, which I overheard them. Tell a potential customer was that they do not offer decaf beverages. After the farmers market in Torrance, I decided to go for a walk at Redondo beach. It was a gorgeous Saturday & this beach is clean and way less touristy than some of the other beaches. It's meter parking, they have restrooms and it's wheelchair accessible with ramps. read more

Redondo Beach and the South Bay are a wonderful part of Southern California's culture and history. Redondo is narrower than neighboring Hermosa Beach so it's a shorter walk to the ocean. The laid back vibe went perfectly with tee shirt weather. The pier is a maze of dining establishments and souvenir shops. I recommend going downstairs by the marina to check out Quality Seafood and smaller local eateries. Beach therapy awaits you. read more

YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2018 - 53/100. If you have time to kill and have enough energy to burn, this could be a good place to just walk around. The arcade (which will be closed on December 2019, so go there before it's gone forever!) is one of the main attractions here other than the famous Quality Seafood area. There are other restaurants offered depending on your taste, as well as desserts, snacks and souvenir stands. It doesn't seem like much, but there is plenty to see. Happy hour? PLENTY of spots here with really good happy hour offers. Lotsa parking. Gets busy on good days. Bring the kids! Bring friends! read more

I agree w/the other reviewer, don't compare this to Santa Monica...apples and oranges here. Not knocking Santa Monica at all. But this is all about Redondo Beach and the Boardwalk/Pier. I remember years ago (here I go...) I use to bring my girls here when they were little. They loved it! I loved it. And at a time when I was divorced and single, I met a few people out there, especially when the internet was "the new thing" back then (hey, don't judge and also, I must point out that was a safe place to meet a date - in a large populated area full of people). Yup, it was a long long time ago. And it's changed with the times in some updating, love it! It's definitely a place to have a nice time, bring that special someone, bring the family, whether your mom, dad & kiddlets or single parent, it's a good place to be at to keep the kids happy and think at the same time. Yeah sure, it doesn't have a ferris wheel, merry go round, rides or a nice promenade full of shops few blocks up across from it, but it does have it's own unique style and offerings. You got the arcades, the restaurants, the fast food that remind me of being at the LA county Fair, seafood markets like San Pedro, lots of room to walk and stretch your sea legs and places to sit and take in the views or people watch. I love the many options of where to walk, jog or take a stroll. Bicyclist's also have that choice if they choose, especially now with the new Bike lane/trail that extends from the end of Hermosa Beach. I went there today from that new extended trail and love it! Although both Pier to Pier strands are my favorite, because they are much wider and offer separation from the bikes. I also like this one in a different way, because it offers variety and if you are feeling adventurous and love to take long half a day power walks/jogs, (or bike) from ped/bike trail, you can walk all the way to Palos Verdes (I did!, although through streets, because I was too chicken to walk on the sand, it will take you all the way past Torrance Beach to Palos Verdes Estates Shoreline - you'll be right on the rocks & see many tide pools!!). Well streets alone kicked my butt! (Just a little for being inclined streets). Now I can seriously go hiking again!! But that/those are other reviews and trails towards or in Rancho Palos Verdes Penisula, etc.) Redondo Beach Boardwalk is definitely worth a visit. There is plenty of parking throughout, just drive around - acres & acres of metered parking on streets and self pay parking lots!! read more

From North to South, there's a lot to do on the Redondo Beach Boardwalk. Yes it's not as clean as your doctors office & it smells like fish sometimes, but there are a bunch of restaurants, bars & even an arcade to spend your time in. Before I moved to Cali, I read that the boardwalk was under the pier. It's actually to the north of the pier & down a flight of stairs in the parking garage. I actually haven't been to ALL of the places on the boardwalk, but here are my faves (check out the individual reviews for more info): Gambrinus - I absolutely love this Russian gem...great beers, great food! Naja's - How many beers on tap? Take your friends here, they'll have a blast! KEGS - A fun place with good bands, yummy pizzas & a good assortment of beers on tap. Redondo Fun Factory - So fun! Where else within walking distance from my place can I play skee-ball? T's Toe Rings & Gifts - I don't wear toe rings, but this place has a nice selection of beachy jewelry & gifts. (t's moved upstairs to the pier, so be sure to visit them there) Fun Fish Market - Not my favorite place to eat, but they have cheap beer & it's right next to the arcade. Free parking for the holidays! Although there are signs posted that no pets are allowed, people were walking with their dogs and a security guard was in the area. If you play Pokemon Go, there are plenty of Pokemon, Poke stops, and Poke gyms. For some reason, the data does not work for cell phones inside the parking structure. The boardwalk is full of excellent restaurants and bars as well a few dessert locations. Unfortunately, the restrooms are typical beach restrooms. read more

Wow I am surprised to see such few reviews for this boardwalk (6 at the time of this review, not including mine). This is one of the nicest beach boardwalks I have ever been to, not that I have been to a lot of beaches in my lifetime (Because I am so light skinned, I have this love/ hate relationship with the Sun). There are plenty of shops to browse through, restaurants to eat at, bars to drink at, desserts to try, sea life rides to try, games to play (at the Fun Factory) and so on. Definitely a place to spend the day with family, with that special someone, with a good friend or 2, with out of town guests, etc. For parking, there is a large parking structure (not free and cheaper during the winter months than the summer months). You can also park in the metered parking or if you are lucky, you can try parking in the residential area (free) and walk over (the walk isn't that bad of a walk, depending on how far you park). read more

They boardwalk has a bike path that cuts through the parking lot, so you can still make your way through without pedestrians really being in the way. The best boardwalk as a kid growing up. There's not much to do here unless you want time for just yourself. It's a quite environment and a great place to bring that special someone of yours. Reason for, there's nice restaurants with amazing views of the ocean. Last time I went with my girlfriend we've seen two dolphins playing and if you love sealions or seals they're always together trying to steal the peoples fish whom so happen to fish that day. Other then that don't expect it to be like Santa Monica with different crowds or them looking for trouble. Its a peaceful environment to ease your mind and share with the person you love. I love seeing everyone out at the beach early in the morning! There were people playing beach volleyball, surfing, roller skating, biking, jogging, you name it! They have designated areas for pedestrians vs. people on wheels, so be careful or someone will pull you aside and tell you where to walk! In any case, there are several pay lots and metered spaces near the pier and boardwalk, and if you get there early enough, you can park in the neighborhood for free! read more

Beautiful view! They have plenty of benches for you to sit and look at the sunset. On the weekend the boardwalk is packed though. I recommended during the week. Also if you are planning to go at night bring a jacket and dress warm it gets really cold. read more
