Hermosa Beach is located between Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach. We parked over by 2nd St and Hermosa Ave close to Mickey's Deli. Tons of metered street parking if you're lucky. We were able to park at a 24 hour meter and it cost us $10 for 5 hours. You can pay with a card at the meter or pay on the app @ParkMobile. I love paying via app so you can add extra time as needed without having to walk back to the car to pay the actual meter. It's an easy walk to the beach as there are plenty of sidewalk areas and also a boardwalk with walkers, runners and bikers. Be careful when you cross the boardwalk as traffic can get crazy with the bicyclists or e-Bikes. The outdoor restrooms, which also look like elevated port-o-potties are located by 2nd street beach entrance. They have a sink area to wash your hands too. There's a nice pathway on the actual sand up to a certain point, for easier transporting of strollers and wagons. Then you're on your own once you hit the sand. Hermosa Beach is a nice and somewhat quiet beach which is usually busy on the weekends. For obvious reasons since everyone has the same idea! Nice beach with walking access to tons of bars and restaurants. We love Micky's Deli for sandwiches for the beach!

Came on a Thursday and had a blast! Took my pooch and he also had a great time. Plenty of parking that day but it probably gets busy. The waves were strong so I'm guessing it's a good spot for surfing? The sand was somewhat dirty but it's LA For the most part it was clean and tranquil

Hermosa Beach is a beachfront city in Los Angeles County. It's one of the best beaches to surf, go swimming, and play beach vb at various volleyball nets along the sand. There are plenty of parking (ie., metered, structure lots, public and side street) in and around the beach. And they have time limits from 1hr, 2hr, 3hr or an all day). HB has an off white very granular sand beach. Plenty of trash bins as well as Lifeguard towers. It was my first time on Hermosa Beach. And my main concern was finding a parking spot given that this beach is very popular. I suggest you come early (7 am) on weekends. Overall, I enjoyed spending a whole day at hermosa beach. I recommend it.

Hermosa is a very pretty and well-maintained beach, compared to a few others around it. We visited a few beaches while we were in Los Angeles, like Manhattan Beach, Venice Beach, and others. Each had their own positives and negatives, but Hermosa turned out to be our favorite. It was a little quieter and less crowded than Manhattan Beach and a little less bustling than Venice Beach, if you like or dislike that. I preferred the nice tranquility of Hermosa Beach, personally. The water was clear, the beach had nice silky sand, and there were even little seagulls that were brave enough in the quiet morning to congregate near us on the beach. If you're looking for a nice quiet place to take in the ocean, Hermosa Beach in the morning is the perfect spot!

    Gorgeous day at Hermosa Beach!

Had a beach day with my daughters this pass Saturday to escape the 110 degree weather in Vegas. We decided to go to Hermosa. Our last trip as a family to Cali we had breakfast at Martha's on Hermosa and we fell in love with the beach here so we decided to come back. Glad we did. Took a little bit to find parking due to the AVP event, but when we did find parking and got on the beach we were able to find a nice area away from the crowd. The beach was so clean and Beautiful. We had a nice relaxing day. The high was 70 and we still got an amazing tan :) We packed a cooler and had lunch. Read our books and caught up after a long week of work. Hermosa was the perfect mom and daughter trip. We loved it and can't wait to come back!!

Beautiful and clean beach. Came out on a foggy day. Still was such of a pretty sight. The boardwalk is lined by stunning beach homes.

Hermosa Beach... the sun is setting but smoke from nearby fires are masking it :( 9/8/20

If you know who Dewey Weber is you might be my friend... So as pretentious and lavish as the lifestyles may seem at Hermosa Beach, the people are mostly down-to-earth. My ex leased a house three blocks from the beach. Parking is terrible during the summer, but I would not recommend a meter spot unless you're going to stay on top of it because you WILL get a ticket even if you're seconds late. The sidewalk trip from Hermosa Beach Pier to Manhattan Beach Pier is nice. Walk. Run. Bike ride. Roller skate or blade. Skateboard. From what I can tell, dogs must be leashed. It would still be my favorite beach if it weren't for a few unfortunate events in my life right now. That's personal. PS - a life-size statue of the 5'3" Weber by sculptor Phil Roberts is located at the Hermosa Beach Community Center at PCH and Pier Ave. He's a legend. Check it out.

Absolutely beautiful beach. It's really clean, quiet and feels secluded. A great place to hang out.

I absolutely LOVE Hermosa beach! This is one of the best beaches around! It is also one of the cleanest beaches. The Hermosa pier is great! So many places to shop and eat! There are also restrooms for the public and swing for kids to swing on. And of course, the strand - walk way/path- for riding bikes or just walking is also great! On a hot California day, the water is simply delicious! that is the best way to describe how wonderful it is! All in all I will definitely be going back to Hermosa Beach... :)

Hermosa has a wonderful bike path/walkway called "The Strand" were you can walk for miles with the broad beach on one side and unique beach homes on the other. Very chill with plentiful restaurants and pubs available. Highly recommended for walking, biking, or rollerblading your stress away.

    Was such a beautiful day.

Very pleasant, fun relaxing day. We started with the food, and beer at Patrick Molloys absolutely delicious, we then took time to lay out on the beautiful Hermosa Beach.

A well maintained, clean beach. Volleyball nets & courts perfect for hours of fun & exercise.

The fresh scent of seafood draws you into the pier, with the soft sounds of the birds above and from the thrashing waves of the sea below. The pier is a nice place to walk around and relax, sometimes a little bit crowded. And if you are lucky, some days might have less people. But regardless, Redondo beach has some of the best buildings. It's a good place to go fishing outside or buying fish. They have a variety of markets selling fish out there. Although I can say I had a good experiance, I will admit that it can be pricey. The shops have very expensive souvenirs unlike the last time I visited long ago. I haven't been to the restaurants yet, well some of them. But I have tried the churros and the Chinese food. The churros tasted good, my favorite item to buy whenever I visit. And for anyone who wants to save, it would be a really good snack to try when visiting. The other foods I tried tasted good, but I feel like the pricing is a bit too much. I will rate this a five because despite the high pricing, me and my family will continue to come to Redondo Beach for a nice walk. Thank you for the experiance.

I even checked Yelp and their website before coming but didn't realize this and that was the only thing I brought! I was coming alone with my little kid so needed to keep the baggage to minimum... The lifeguards approached me to tell me the new policy at which point I was getting sad that we had no shade, after circling 20 min around for parking etc, getting a little tired. They apparently have shades for borrowing but they run out early on a summer day like this and one guard said they are certainly all out since the morning. (It was past noon). But Conner went above and beyond to go double check anyways, found and brought one back, with a shovel. Which was too heavy for me to do anything with, but he picked it up like a fork and shoveled away the sand, and expertly set up the beach umbrella. Thank you thank you thank you, Conner, you totally saved our day!! Lots of space for little ones to play, wide shallow area, ok and safe for kid and adults who can't swim. We stayed all afternoon and my kid had a total blast. The only thing is, you better have some kind of shade, and hew, with the kindness of one of the staff, we did!

On this particular Saturday, I am here with Heal the Bay to clean up the beach in a series called "Nuthin' but Sand. Although, this beach is relatively clean that some of the volunteers stated there are a lot of little tiny pieces of styrofoam. I don't remember if it was last year or the year before that residents found a body on the sand in the evening. I am glad that was not during our beach clean up. I am surprised to see one of the volunteers bring back a hypodermic needle. We do have containers for these needles so nobody accidentally gets poked. I was told that 800 people signed up and about 560 showed up to help. Altogether we rounded up about 90 pounds of trash including ropes that you find on fishing boats, couple pairs of shoes, glass and plastic bottles, and a few vape devices. I encourage people to stop littering because they end up in our ocean and beaches. I even witnessed a driver on the freeway ditching a cigarette butt out the window on the way to this event. Is it that hard to use the ash tray then toss it all out later in a proper receptacle? Just sayin', even soda cups and different straws on the streets end up at the beach.
