I was driving my recently acquired Jaguar down the highway when all of a sudden the quiet exhaust note simply exploded into a cacophony of unrestrained percussive waves. My car was making a loud muffler sound that clearly needed repair. I was told by one auto repair shop that it had a crack that had been repaired previously and could therefore not be repaired again. A new one was required, at a price of about $1,200. I took my car to Red's, they repaired it for $320. with a life time warranty. In spite of being extremely busy they got me in the next day, and did the work in about two hours, in spite of having to send out for a new part. read more

The catalytic converter was stolen from my kid's Prius and we needed a shop to install an aftermarket replacement along with a cat guard to hopefully prevent future thefts. Red's was great to deal with. We ordered the aftermarket parts (they told us exactly what to get) and had everything shipped to the shop. The exhaust system of my car started giving a loud noise. I took it to a big-name chain,and the claimed that the catalytic converter needs to be replaced. He also showed a hole supposedly on the converter. The quote they had for me was for $300. I asked around, and got suggestions for Red's, and went there. It seems to be a family operation. I told them about the problem and asked for a quote for the catalytic converter replacement (their initial quote was $230), and left my car there. A few hours later, they called me back. The lady told me that I don't need a new cat, rather my old cat was fine. The only problem was a hole in the pipe nearby, and they can just weld it. I asked for a quote for that, and was surprised to get a $50 quote. In the afternoon, I picked up my car. No more sound coming from the exhaust. And I was very pleased with their honesty ... they could have fleeced $200+ from me in the name of replacing the converter, but rather they went the extra mile to save me money. It's a family run place, and compared to the chain-garages, Red's will give you much better and honest service. read more

I took my car here after word of mouth recommendations. Unfortunately the cheap turned out to be too cheap: a rattling sound was misdiagnosed as being rusted gaskets that caused the pipes to rattle. For $75 bucks they cut the pipes around the connecting point and welded a new piece of pipe. Sound didn't disappear. So they lift the car again and tell me it's the heat shields. They cut them out but rattling continues. I was fed up and took the car somewhere else who promptly diagnosed the problem as a broken catalytic converter. This place also doesn't take appointments, so you just have to come and wait it out. I give it 2 stars only because this place offers quick fixes for certain kinds of problems that are much cheaper than replacing entire parts. If you have an older car and need a quick fix, maybe this place is for you. I won't be coming back. read more

I had a problem with muffler in my toyota RAV4 and i took my car here in the morning. They order my part right away and fix it in 1hr for the cheapest price i found in town. Maidas gave me an estimate of $350, carX gave me an estimate of 2k and this shop fixed it for $230. They do first come first serve so i'd recommend going in the morning. read more

I just got a new muffler on my 2000 Honda Civic. Overall, I had a good experience. They were fast and friendly but I felt it was a little more expensive than the other reviewers lead you to think. I spent $312 on a new pipe and muffler which came with a 1 year warranty. All around a pretty good deal at a reasonable price but not a crazy cheap deal by any means. read more

I have a 2008 Scion and was told for a new muffler it would be over $1500, but if I just got it repaired (all but one of the clamps needed replaced and a hole in the muffler needed a welded patch) that it should probably cost around $300. I took it to Red's and got it all done in a day for $110.00! It is family owned, very old school (reminded me of the mechanic in the small town I grew up in), and family run/owned. Met Mother and Son today. And no, no masks...but in the heat of the garage, and no ac, just fans, I could not blame them. I did wear a mask for the short time I was there...because of cramped quarters, it was hard to respect 6' distancing, but did as much as possible. I highly recommend them for their expert work (my car hums), their integrity, and their honesty. They don't make appointments. But they are honest when they will get to it. I needed a new flex tube put on my 2000 Toyota Camry. The Toyota dealer gave me an absurd quote-- close to $1500-- and recommended that I check out Red's Muffler Shop for a reputable fix from an independent garage. The people at Red's were very friendly and walked me through exactly what had gone wrong with my car. The real kicker, however, was the price: about $200; or, 1/7 of what the dealer wanted to charge. I don't drive very often, but after a few months and a few hundred miles on the new flex tube, everything is still running well on my car. I would go back to Red's again. My dear husband accidentally drove my car up onto a curb and did something horrible to my exhaust. I took the car to a big name chain who quoted me $2300 for an entirely new exhaust system. I decided, instead, to try Red's since I drive by it often. It took the service person about an hour to look at it (I dropped it off) and they were able to do a couple welds and replace part of one pipe and charge me less than $100. The exhaust system on my '99 sedan was rusted and rattled beyond repair. The glue and patches from Auto Zone were no longer preventing the excessive noise and vibration (and emissions). I got a quote from Farm & Fleet before taking it to Red's. Price-wise, in my case, Red's was comparable to F&F. I ultimately went with Red's for the repair/replacement. Where Red's excels is in their willingness and ability to weld repair on parts that can be saved, rather than the typical knee-jerk parts replacement policy anywhere else. They were also able to weld the known troublesome points of connection in the exhaust system to save me future expenses. The people are nice. The shop is dark and dirty, but could pass for charming. The parking lot is tiny and awkward. Best part is: the resourcefulness and welding skill found here is a rare find. read more

Just had some work done at Red's. The place has the ambiance of a hardcore auto shop. No frills, long-dated posters and signs and photos, parts piled everywhere, old car seats to sit on while waiting. But the people there are helpful and they do the job and at reasonable prices. Sadly, I am not happy with the results, but that has nothing to do with Red's service. I had some FlowMasters put on my car to increase the volume and give it a meaner sound. However, the only place the exhaust sounds louder is in the cockpit. It is nowhere near what I had hoped for and expected. The fault does not lie with Red's. They did a good job installing the mufflers. I just should have gotten different ones. Such is life. read more

I like this place a lot. Great, common sense service. Very fair price. Everyone friendly! ... A guy at the tire shop said, "Whew, doesn't look good for your catalytic converter. You have rust right behind it. You're probably talking $500, probably more like $800." Have no fear. Take it to Red's. I got right in. They cut off the pipe and grafted/welded a piece right into the converter. They said, "We've done this a thousand times." My old Honda couldn't have been happier, and this owner is happy, too.
