They have a crazy man as a delivery driver. I never even got pizza. It's snowy weather and I'm already driving, he passes a stop and turns in front of me, I almost miss him having to swerve around him entering my lane. He then tailgates me with his flashlight waving around in my mirror and waving his flash trying to get back around me. He pulls into the same lot as me and then I see that he's the delivery driver for Reds Pizza. I go in to tell his manager that he's got a driver that shouldn't be delivering and that I'm going to report this car to the police. The MANAGER KICKS ME OUT. So much for safety or service. Absolutely terrible people working here. I would never recommend a business like this. Doesn't matter how good the food is. I've lived here 7 years and have never had Red's before. This 'Sota style pizza is thin crust, comes with lots of toppings, and has a tangy sauce that was a nice surprise. I ordered a sausage pizza for curbside pickup. This Red's is located in a VFW, which I wasn't aware of, so I had a brief moment of confusion. Visiting from Chicago and I have to say, the pizza was absolutely amazing. It really blew me away. I love pizza and have tried many places in my life and this was the first time trying pizza in MN. Man was it tasty. We had it delivered and it came very fresh and hot. It was delivered by their own driver Caleb who was very kind and made a quick and easy delivery. Ordered pizza for delivery. Was very clear on the location when I ordered as it was to a hotel and I made sure I gave the correct address to witch the person I talked to assured me that they knew of the location as it was a short distance away. The delivery driver called and said he was here but could not find the room on the fourth floor. I looked out into the hallway and saw no one. When I told him I didn't see him he then said he was at the wrong hotel. The driver showed up about ten minutes later. Unfortunately the pizza was now just like warm at best. It's an extremely difficult task to evaluate something you've loved your whole life. Especially when it's been bastardized like this. It's like trying to see the family resemblance in your second cousin. You see something there, but it's definitely different, and it's far from the original. Is it fair to judge by comparing to the "Original"? If you're gonna put the name Red's Savoy on it, you bet your ass it's fair. The cheese is just not the best. Doesn't have the pull. It's flat. It's not salty enough. It's just not as tasty or as high quality and it could be. And not even close to the same amount that the Original had. I ordered extra cheese and it still wasn't the same as the Original. And having to request it "well done" to get the same char that Red's is known for is a travesty. Flavors are reminiscent in the sauce but definitely not as snappy. I'm sure the corporate folks would disagree with that statement, but I don't care, this is my review. Get your own damn Yelp account. It's still a much better pizza than most. That's why it's a bit dickish to say 2 stars. But my argument is simple: Potential. I know how good it could be. It's got the potential to be great. It's not. It's in a VFW. The service is always excellent. The lighting is fluorescent and bright, but what the hell, it's a VFW. The beer is cheap and cold. We were in for a big surprise, we were getting together with two other couples and thought this would be centrally located to all. There is nothing that says this is a VFW so we were shocked when we pulled up. The food was good, as I had expected but "it's a VFW". I'm only giving it 4/5 instead of 5/5 because it's in the VFW which made me feel a little awkward on where to go and who to talk to about my pizza order. They were friendly enough about it. I wouldn't ever go there just to eat pizza. I might order pizza if I found myself drinking there at the VFW. My delivery experiences have been great! My pizza is always fresh, hot, and on time! I'm not that big of a thin crust pizza fan, but I literally crave Savoys when I want pizza. The Hammer is my favorite! I suggest it if you like sauerkraut and banana peppers. Waited got the pizza had ordered a large meat raffle driver brought small something covered with green olives making it the polar opposite of what I ordered still not the end of the world but what made me mad was had to call back and ask if they were going to remake or what my options are. We have been enjoying Red's Savoy pizza going back at least 20 years ago when we would make an evening of it going to the old downtown bar. When one opened up near our house we started getting take and bake to go. Last night we picked up a large sausage and too it home to bake. It was one of the worst pizza pizzas ever! We went here because I have Celiac disease, and their menu indicates that they have a gluten free crust option. Driving up, we were surprised that it was in the VFW meeting hall, and thought we were in the wrong place. The pizza was delicious (we ordered the Meat Raffle, and Red's House Special with the gluten free crust). They made a mistake on the Meat Raffle, adding chopped onions when we asked for no onions. The waiter apologized and offered to make us another pizza, but we decided to just pick the onions off. They ended up giving us a discount to compensate for the mistake. Even though we were surprised to be in the VFW Hall, we enjoyed the atmosphere...especially some spontaneous singing that broke out in the back of the Hall.
