    Delicious sausage pizza!
    Monique H.

I've lived here 7 years and have never had Red's before. This 'Sota style pizza is thin crust, comes with lots of toppings, and has a tangy sauce that was a nice surprise. I ordered a sausage pizza for curbside pickup. This Red's is located in a VFW, which I wasn't aware of, so I had a brief moment of confusion. They were prompt and friendly and I got my pizza home nice and hot. This was a tasty pizza. I'd gladly order from here again! Lots of cheese and giant pieces of sausage. Good stuff!

The Inferno. Pepp, Sausage, Giardiniera peppers. Still better than most, but just not the Original.

It's an extremely difficult task to evaluate something you've loved your whole life. Especially when it's been bastardized like this. It's like trying to see the family resemblance in your second cousin. You see something there, but it's definitely different, and it's far from the original. Is it fair to judge by comparing to the "Original"? If you're gonna put the name Red's Savoy on it, you bet your ass it's fair. The cheese is just not the best. Doesn't have the pull. It's flat. It's not salty enough. It's just not as tasty or as high quality and it could be. And not even close to the same amount that the Original had. I ordered extra cheese and it still wasn't the same as the Original. And having to request it "well done" to get the same char that Red's is known for is a travesty. Flavors are reminiscent in the sauce but definitely not as snappy. I'm sure the corporate folks would disagree with that statement, but I don't care, this is my review. Get your own damn Yelp account. It's still a much better pizza than most. That's why it's a bit dickish to say 2 stars. But my argument is simple: Potential. I know how good it could be. It's got the potential to be great. It's not. It's in a VFW. The service is always excellent. The lighting is fluorescent and bright, but what the hell, it's a VFW. The beer is cheap and cold. You always feel welcome. And it's walking distance from the Roseville hockey arena. I'd rather have a beer and a pizza than watch another practice.

I moved back to St Paul from Maple Grove and was excited to find a Reds Savoy so I popped into this VFW that has Reds served.

It is located in a small strip plaza and you just walk in to be seated. They are extremely busy with people seated to eat and to-go orders. When I arrived, someone was cleaning tables, taking payment, and delivering food to tables. This was all being done by the same person. He directed me to a table, gave me a menu, and brought me a glass of water with a straw. He was moving about the restaurant taking orders, cashing people out, cleaning tables, and delivering food the entire time I was there. He came to get my order after about ten minutes. I ordered the Seoul sampler with the soy garlic sauce on the chicken. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal. The chicken was cooked and seasoned to perfection. It was crunchy and flavorful. There was a lot of food too. I ended up taking some back to my hotel and eating it later. It was hard not going back to this restaurant during my stay, but I wanted to try different places. It took about fifteen minutes for my food to arrive at the table and bulgogi fries came out first on a separate plate. This sampler is a good representation of several of their menu items. I recommend getting it if you are new to this restaurant. I paid $46 after adding a tip.

The server was friendly but he was super busy because it seemed like he was the only server who was also taking care of to-go orders. The food was ready relatively fast. I was disappointed in the taste of it because a few pieces of the chicken were a little dry and some of them weren't the type of crunchy you would expect of Korean fried chicken. The restaurant is spacious and clean.

From the hostess who graciously held the doors open for us in the 95° heat to our incredible server, David, everything was outstanding. We started with cocktails. I had what may have been the best bourbon Old Fashioned I've ever tasted, and my wife enjoyed a wonderfully refreshing cocktail (whose name I, unfortunately, can't remember). We began our meal with the roasted Brussels sprouts. Normally, I'm not much of a Brussels sprouts fan, but I happily cleaned the plate. My wife and I shared the 12-ounce filet mignon, cooked medium rare, and it was absolute perfection. Chef's kiss. David recommended a bottle of wine to pair with our steak. It wasn't inexpensive, but it was worth every penny. But wait... there's more. As incredible as that wine was with the filet, it somehow paired even better (yes, I know that sounds impossible) with the slice of heaven they call chocolate cake. I'm sure it has a much fancier name on the menu, but "slice of heaven" seems more accurate. If you've read my other reviews, you know I have a tendency toward hyperbole. If there were ever a time to lean into it, this is it. THIS MEAL WAS FANTASTIC. THE AMBIANCE WAS PERFECT. THE FOOD WAS EXCEPTIONAL. AND THE COMPANY WAS DIVINE. We will absolutely be back--and when we do, we'll be asking for a table in David's section. (He works Tuesday through Friday.)

I started with the tequila and mezcal Old Fashioned, and it was fantastic. It was well-balanced, beautifully presented, and garnished perfectly. The food was equally impressive. The wings were delicious--crispy, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. My only small note would be that the celery was a little limp. The Caesar salad has officially been added to my regular rotation. The jammy egg was cooked perfectly with a rich, yolky center that was still easy to slice. The Parmesan crisps were thoughtfully sized, adding great texture without being so large they scraped the roof of your mouth. The salad was evenly dressed, making every bite flavorful. Overall, excellent food, outstanding cocktails, and warm, attentive service. I'll definitely be back.
