Ray J is Ray Js. It's hard to say anything bad just because it accomplishes what it sets out to do. FOOD: especially when tipsy, this diner vibe establishment has got what you want. Slightly greasy but not too much and the taste is there. I especially like their burgers. SERVICE: friendly and accommodating. I will note that my friend had tried to contact them about a mistake with a to-go order but other than that their service has been great. But beware with to go orders but YMMV. AMBIANCE: diner/sports bar. Can be loud but not too loud. Note if a game is on there may be cheering. Casual and comfortable. My wife and I had been hearing a lot about the wings at Ray J's, so we decided to check it out for ourselves. When we walked in, the hostesses greeted us right away and asked if we preferred the bar or dining side and we chose the dining area. Not long after, our server Jordyn stopped by to take care of us. We ordered everything at once, starting with the Szechuan green beans and pizza fries, along with three different kinds of wings: garlic parmesan, lemon pepper, and smoky ranch. It took a little while for the food to come out, but once it did, it was well worth the wait. The wings were loaded with flavor, and I really liked that they served whole wings instead of just flats or drummies. The booths were comfortable and roomy, and the big screen TVs made it easy to keep up with the college football games. Between the great service, flavorful food, and relaxed atmosphere, we were more than happy with our visit. Parking was also easy, and since the place is tucked away a bit, it feels like a hidden gem. Awesome spot! We went here late and weren't sure how late the kitchen is open but to our surprise it's open until 1:30am which is pretty impressive. We got a full order of their bone in wings and these come with all 3 parts of the wing so they are really 3 wings in one and the sauces were delicious. Went to try out Ray J's with some friends! I've heard many good things about the wings but if I ever see a juicy lucy I will be trying that!! I would recommend going during the morning as it was not busy at all. I also like that there was a parking lot so you don't need to stress about finding parking. I ended up getting a juicy lucy with bacon. It came with fries and the fries were perfectly seasoned and crisps. I feel as if I haven't had enough juicy lucy to compare but it's really good! Ray J's is a local American Bar and Restaurant serving your typical American fare. This place is quite popular in the neighborhood at all times of the day thanks in large part to their large menu, affordable prices, and good bar atmosphere. There are TVs everywhere in the restaurant showcasing all of the major sports games. There is ample seating with a lot of large booths and tables capable of seating some pretty large groups. I have come here with groups as large as 12 before during the day and they have been able to seat us no problem. They have specials on Mondays and Tuesdays, but the Monday special is unbeatable where you can get a cheeseburger and fries for $8! And it's a pretty large burger so quite the deal. The service is always pretty good, they are able to split large checks for groups, they know their menu pretty well, and are very attentive with refilling water. The food is all good, but my favorite thing to order from here are the Wings! They were voted best wings in Minnesota and I think they're definitely up there. They are MASSIVE with each wing being the full "wing" - tip, flat, and drumstick together so keep that in mind when you order. My favorite wing is the Homestyle, but they can be a little too salty for me sometimes. Also, they serve food til really late so often times this is the last place serving food open in the neighborhood (besides White Castle). We had asked the local brewery staff a place to get a good burger, they suggested place, I would not agree. It wasn't very busy but we did go early on a Friday. Our food took a while whivh we were ok with as then it was fresh. We ended up losing our server before we even got out food. Not sure if they do that in case the food is wrong you don't blame the new server. So the food was ok, it wasn't horrible but it wasn't the best we've had. The burger did look amazing but was just ok, not much flavor actually. Even the fries were just ok not much flavor. And my fellow person said the same, not much flavor. I've been a loyal customer at Ray J's since 2017, but after my recent experience, I honestly don't plan on returning. I brought in a pulltab that turned out to be a $200 winner, only to be told they wouldn't honor it because "the box was gone." No one ever told me that pulltabs weren't supposed to leave the establishment, and as someone who's blind, I couldn't see any signs that might have said so. The staff never mentioned a time limit or restriction, either. If this had been a $20 ticket, I would've just chalked it up to a lousy lesson. But for $200, I feel completely cheated. It's incredibly frustrating to be denied a legitimate winning ticket simply because I wasn't informed of rules that were never communicated. This experience has completely soured my opinion of Ray J's. If you play pulltabs here, be careful -- make sure you're told all the rules up front, because they apparently won't take responsibility for lack of communication. I used to recommend this place to others, but after this, I just feel cheated, and will find a new place to enjoy. read more

This is where the neighborhood gets together and everyone says hi. This is where the staff knows your name and good food is served. Even if you don't like the bar and grill sports bar atmosphere this is worth a try, everyone is welcomed. They are known for their chicken wings and in the short time we were there I saw many platters of every kind of wings coming out of the kitchen. No one waited for anything (that is the philosophy) of the staff. I have been coming here with friends for years because of their GIANT wings, but I recently started branching out, and I am so glad I did! Yes, their wings are great and super tender. However, their Reuben is amazing, and the honey mustard chicken sandwich is my absolute favorite! It has a pretzel bun and tastes incredible, and the fries are great too!!
