I was looking for a unique gift idea for several people, and didn't want the traditional cookies or treats. I was browsing through some Yelp suggestions and landed on Redstone Olive Oil. Close to where I would be running some errands, so I stopped in. The store is located in the strip mall of the Draper Peaks Shopping center. Lots of great places around-and perfectly paired with neighbor, Great Harvest Bread. I can't imagine that it was by accident that they landed next door to each other. When I walked in, I was greeted warmly and offered assistance. I told the gentleman that I was looking for gifts and was open to suggestions. He gave me a few recommendations, and I ultimately went with a flavored olive oil and vinegar combination. There were so many choices-I would love to come back and try them all, but I was there on a mission, not there to meander. Another day, perhaps. In addition to olive oils, there were also some interesting spices and some body products made from olive oil. I'm glad I stumbled across Redstone, and will be back when I'm ready to try a few new flavors, or get some more gifts.

The olive oil was very good though.

This is a great place to go for olive oil, if you want to be condescended to...The olive oil was actually really good but, the condensation was not necessary.

These are fantastic. There is so much to choose from it was hard to just settle on buying only two. The balsamic vinegars were absolutely amazing and next time I go, I will be buying more of those. The lemon Citrus Infused Sugar cane is delicious. I cannot wait to top the crust of a strawberry rhubarb pie or on scones. Lisa was very attentive, helpful and full of wonderful ideas! Thanks Lisa!

A cool shop that I didn't know had existed when I saw a small sign near Great Harvest. I called to ask for directions and the lady hung up on me. Once I came in the lady made is sound like I was interrupting her. Maybe she had a bad day and didn't make it very fun for me. I wanted to try some oil samples but she had no bread, and it is kind gross to drink olive oil in a cup. Prices are kinda high and it is hard to judge the quality of their olive oil so I went safe and got some smaller bottles (dill, garlic, and Tuscan herb). They also had a sample of black truffle sea salt and that was excellent! It cost I think $20 for the small container. Very pricey but so delicious and that made my whole trip worth it. Hope that owner lady has a better day as I want to go back again.

This is where the magic happens. Now with the addition of REDSTONE Olive oils and yummy Balsamic Vinegars the magic has become stupendous!

They have fish and other pork parts that I use to do traditional plates. They have root veggies, recao, breadfruit, tamarind and green bananas, all of my favorites. The parking lot was full so good start... right next door is the state liquor store... so if you gotta go... Sam's is easy to find just to the right upon entering the store. There's a variety of stir fried veggies and veggie glass noodles that looked great. Hanging in a glass booth were the char sui and duck... I got a half pound of the BBQ pork and steamed rice for $11... they would not take a tip and gave me a complementary bottle of water... the lady helping me was super nice. There is seating available inside Sam's. I've not tried the food yet but so far I like Sam's. Ocean Mart has a huge inventory of fruits and vegetables that you won't find in your local supermarket and the prices are significantly less than the major retailers. There's a butcher and a seafood section too.

Don't shop here. The store manager Ryan is a piece of shit manager who tells his employees that "…read moretheir problems are not his problems." He constantly belittles his employees and causes them to leave having panic attacks. Employees who work under 37 hours have no sick pay, or absent leave and come October will receive 2 points per absence. After 12 points you are terminated. This is a bullshit policy that gives no leeway for parents who need to leave for their kids or for sick days. There is constantly talk about employees behind their backs. An employee who had piercings was hired almost 2 years ago and recently because of Ryan a text was sent out to the whole team about that one employee. This place may as well be ran by the Kardashians because it's all drama and no substance. Don't shop at a store that treats their employees like numbered drones. Trader Joe's is cheaper, has better products and better people anyway.

The food... well, I would describe it as Thai food for white people. It tasted ok, but I've had more authentic Thai in airports. Everything here seems to be a strip mall, so... this place is in a strip mall. I really don't need to be a jerk about it. This place is in business to make money, and what I think is going on is they are preparing food for the folks that live around here. If they made Thai food like I'm used to in New York City, people here might hate it. I don't know. Not everyone likes fish sauce I guess. Anyhow, I can tell by the other reviews that people here love this place, and I think that's fantastic. They shouldn't change a thing just because some NYC asshole randomly showed up.

For a strip mall spot, the ambiance is nicer than you'd expect, the prices are fair, and most importantly, the food delivers. We started with the Satay Chicken, which comes as a generous four-skewer portion with an excellent peanut sauce. My one note: the chicken itself was a bit over-fried for my taste, but the sauce made up for it. The Pad Thai was well-balanced and flavorful, exactly what you want from a Thai staple. First visit, but definitely not the last. Worth a stop if you're in the Draper area.
