    Yikes. If you can go anywhere else, please do so. Most of the problems I have with this place are due to contacting and being contacted back. You call them and pretty much always get the automated system saying they're busy. You can pick a department to ring and then leave a message, but it is a coin toss if they call you back. I called 4 or 5 times in one week over the course of the week and finally got called back the next week. Been trying to order and pick up some contact lenses for my wife and that took 3 calls to get a call back. Says 2-3 business days to get them and waited another full week to call to see the status. Of course, reached automated system during business hours and left voicemail. Got a call back the next day that the lenses are there... So, I go to pick them up on my half hour lunch break on a Friday and see the attached sign on the door stating the office is closed for an hour lunch on Thursdays and Fridays. Give me a break! My wife is the main customer here and I tried to get myself an exam last year as well, but due to the problems with getting a hold of someone, I took my business to Costco. Will probably be taking her business there, too. Stay far away, y'all. Don't say I didn't warn you.

    I have been a patient at Redwood Eye Center for years. Lately their customer service has gone down the drain. The ladies that answer the phones do not sound like they like their job. Answering the phone and sighing does not make the caller feel good about calling any business. I'm currently on hold as I am typing this review. If you take a look at my screenshot I've been holding for a little over 21mins just to make an appointment to get my glasses realigned. And I'm already dreading that appointment. The last time I came in was to pick up my glasses they made me wait 20mins. Just to pick up my glasses. It's a bad look when there are 4 people at the front desk and you only have one person helping patients on and off the phone. I get that you're understaffed but I'm thinking, if they are, why aren't they cross trained to at least help check patients in or help make appointments. I was on hold for a good 25mins before getting my appointment made. The phone was picked up 3 times by the same lady... the first time she picked up she said; "Redwood Eye Center can you please hold?" I told her I have been on hold for 7mins, in which she proceeded to say that the person that can help me is helping patients in front of her. The second time she picked up she asked, "how can I help you?" I said I need to make an appointment to get my glasses readjusted. She asked if I was a patient and I said yes and then she said ok can you hold. I was on hold for who knows however long, then the same lady answers again and asks me to hold again! I told her I have been holding for over 20mins and she said, "We're understaffed and the person that can help me is helping patients in front of her." My thought was why did she ask how she can help me if she wasn't going to or could not help me? The customer service at this place is really bad. There's also no use talking to the "supposed" front desk manager because last time I was there waiting for my glasses she basically shamed the new front desk lady (who was in training) in front of the other staff and I was right there in the waiting room within distance to hear her. She also put down the people who work in optical. Talk about team player. She's basically a part of the problem so I would assume any complain you speak to her about would get disregarded. Dr. Agadzi, your staff is really making you and your business look bad.

    I have been contacted, and the false charge to Medi-Cal has been removed. It was implied multiple times that the incident was my sibling's fault. It is repeatedly clear this practice prioritizes Dr Carlson's word over the lived experience and statement of me, my sibling, and my sibling's caregiver. All three of us were present at the appointment. Please avoid this doctor.

I have been wearing glasses since the third grade and I am extremely near-sighted. One of my biggest fears is losing my sight. Dr. Lim made me feel extremely confident about getting the surgery. She explained the surgery in detail and she offered excellent advice about the right type of cataract lenses for me. The surgery itself was extremely quick and painless. I felt like I was at a Laserium show at a planetarium and not in an operating room. There are a number of follow-up appointments scheduled for the day and week after surgery. Both Dr. Chan and Dr. Zhang were caring, knowledgeable, and friendly at these follow-up appointments. The Walnut Creek office staff is also wonderful, friendly, and efficient. Being the nervous Nelly that I am, I did call them more than a few times with my worries. I am now seeing 20/15 out of my distance eye. I can read 4 point type out of my reading eye. Her specialty is corneal implants. She loves what she does and she loves to give the miracle of perfect sight to her patients. I'm 77 now and one day after the surgeries my eyes tested 20/20 & 20/24. Three year later they still test the same. I'm so grateful to her! It is not surprising to me that she worked with Dr Vastine, the Errol Flynn of eye surgeons. I commented to Dr. P that I had to wait 2 hours. At this, Dr. P, not only got defensive, but I felt, personally insulted. I did not make an untrue statement. He was 2 hours late. I did have my eyes dilated, but had waited prior to this and after until I was seen. At this, he told me I was"Mean". I wasn't mean, I was honest as I pointed out, but he couldn't let it go. I apologized again as I realized he was taking this so personally, even telling me he has told his children not to become doctors due to people like me. Weird. At this, I apologized again for my statement of saying he was late and he went off on a tangent of "having done good surgery on me", yes he did. Cataract surgery. However this had nothing to do with being late. He said I couldn't say something like this and expect an apology was acceptable. He looked at my chart and said I had been coming to him since 2021. He could not drop this. He is a good doctor, however has run late consistently. I will be changing opthomologist as It was if I was at that point speaking to a spoiled child, not a professional doctor.

    This morning at East Bay Ophthalmology I walked in for my scheduled appointment and was asked to…read moregive permission for them to keep a credit or debit card number on file. They told me it was now a requirement of all of their patients. I was there for a follow up exam and not expecting to make financial privacy decisions on the spot. I asked if I could pay the copay see the Dr. and make up my mind after and the answer was no. I didn't even know if it was legal for them to do this. Well, it is. Still I am not willing to leave vital credit info at an establishment where I have been continuously a good customer. Dr Scott Lee performed an extremely delicate surgery on my eye magnificently. My lens was knocked off of its supports upon a bow to my eye. It took 2 years for the pressure the become low enough to do the surgery. Dr. Lee did all of the pre examinations and prescribing as well as replace the lens with a new one. I went from 100% blind to vision again. Dr. Pyun has been my Dr. for a f0ur or five years now and I'm very confident in his abilities. He has an amazing demeanor and is quite thourough. I don't want to switch. I would feel much different if I had been informed ahead of the appointment so I could decide how to do this. There are so many breaches that affect all credit holders and having that kind of information in some server isn't safe. It seems that as a safety measure to insure payment enforcing this technique on patients with a history of non payment and even new patients when they sign up would make sense, but long term patients with an excellent track record and insurance... ? With some thought I've decided to get a debit or prepaid credit card to use for this type of nonsense. I will only transfer into it what is needed for each transaction. I urge East Bay Ophthalmology contact patients with upcoming appointments rather than spring this on them at the counter. I urge all of you who encounter this to follow my lead. It will add a high level of protection to your financial privacy. This encounter put a scar on the high opinion I have of this group. I still believe they are among the best people and facilities in the field. It is my opinion that this was not thought through for the benefit of the patients/customers that rely on these services.
