There's also grills and picnic tables for people to enjoy a lunch outdoors. They have a decent size parking lot and plenty of street parking as well.

There are open stairs and gaps with no barriers, which made it stressful as my son kept running toward unsafe areas. We liked the climbing section with the big slide, but access wasn't very accessible and things got chaotic with kids not taking turns. The open field is nice for activities like kite flying, but again, no barriers meant constant redirection. Also worth noting: the dog park is right next to the baby swings and restrooms, and parking is very limited and easy to miss. Overall, some nice features, but the lack of safety made it more stressful than enjoyable for us.

Come here with an open mind and a whole lot of patience. Bonus points for the water bottle filling station. With just a few areas of shade, you will absolutely benefit from bringing a bottle to quench/cool your little ones. The little kids enjoy the frog that sprays water. There is a public restroom next to the playground so you don't have to drag the little ones too far to use it. The rest of the park has some reservable picnic table areas with BBQs. You'll find 2 tennis courts way in the back, and also a horseshoe pit. Sometimes you'll see people playing volleyball at the sand volleyball court. There is a path that makes a loop around the park. People like to use it to walk or run laps. There is a pond that used to be filled with an unnatural blue color water. This would attract Candadian Geese to the park and they made a big mess pooping all over the park. There was a time when it got so bad that you could not safely stroll along the walkway without running into geese poop. Trying to avoid these land mines is not a fun way to enjoy the park. They've since turned off the water features and the geese no longer plague the park. The park is definitely much cleaner now. There is a small parking lot by the playground and also street parking along the street that leads up to the parking lot. The parking lot dead ends, but they have designed a roundish area at the end -- this area is not designated for parking in -- at the end to help you make a u-turn to drive back out. Lakewood Park is a beautiful, open space with play structures spread apart allowing each to be highlighted, explored and enjoyed individually. Multiple children are able to enjoy the same structure at once without fear of one stepping on the other or intruding on any small enclosed spaces. Our daughter weaved on and off different play structures during her time here, bouncing from one to another. Her engagement lasted about two hours. Each structure had so many spaces to explore, engage with and discover the different ways to interact with it. From the enclosed smaller kids play area, to the slides, swings in multiple variations, the exercise equipment, the webbed spinning globe, the three different seated spinners with one being wheel chair accessible, to the galactic looking structure with built in climbs, slides, crawl spaces and more. There are benches spread throughout the play area affording the big people places to sit and check in on their littles. One con is the lack of shaded seating or areas available to lessen sun exposure on intensely hot days. Today, the breeze was very present yet the sun shined brilliantly with temperatures near 80. I know it is certainly not the hottest of days Sunnyvale experiences, for the health of our daughter any temperature higher would not have permitted her to be present. Parking is street and limited for the number of visitors present. We are here on a Saturday afternoon, weekdays may prove different. There are no food stands close by, I would recommend bringing snacks and definitely having water on hand. There is a portion of park area under construction, thankfully it is contained and not available for littles to enter. I am excited to see what comes of the space. I would definitely recommend a visit, your little one with thank you. If you're not shy, your inner child with thank you too!

With an upcoming play date planned between myself and a gf, I was happy that this particular park was picked for our meet up. First things first, this park is MASSIVE! Delano Manongs Park is broken into 10 parts- YES, I SAID 10!! This includes a small and large dog park, multiple gardens, a fitness station, and a number of play structures to keep all your little munchkins happily occupied. The park is very well kept, the restrooms are very doable, and with its large size, there isn't that congested feeling you get with other locations. On top of the many perks, there is a large field to kick or throw around a few balls. The only flaw- and might I add that it is a big one- is the lack of actual shade. Your relief from the sun's powerful rays is limited to the gazebo where the benches are or using the large flower structures as a shield. 5/5 stars all in all. This is lots of fun for kids of all ages.
