Decided to give this place a try inside of Eagle mountain casino. The place was nice lots of natural light and lots of TVs to enjoy watching sports. I am an older guy with a lot of gray hair lol I left my id in the truck but to far for me to walk back with all the construction going on so I was unable to enjoy a nice cold beer with the steak I ordered. I also added a "loaded Baked potato" all that was added was a blob of sour cream no cheese and a piece of bacon not fully crispy like it but the steak was very good. Oh where do I begin... Get. It. Together! Service- Awful Food-Abismal Drinks-We wouldn't know since you call yourself a "taphouse" and yet, had NO beer list to show what was on tap. Our server was unattentive, unethusiastic and was very unhelpful. We came in for a beer and some food after playing in the casino. Only a few tables were occupied and we asked for a cocktail and beer menu, we were told "we don't have one because we are out or the majority of the beers." What? Lol What kind of response is that? We tried to order jalapeno cheddar cornbread as a starter...she came back with "were out" Ordered Mexican street corn instead...full corn on the cob and by the time we got a knife to cut it, it was ice cold. Pretty unflavored and corn tasted old. Tried the queso & chips....queso had a weird film over the top and was "ok" I had the lone pine burger and asked for a side of "fry sauce"....was told that was out as well Fries were bland, over cooked and not good. Mac n cheese was "ok" after adding salt and pepper. The burger was dry, had zero sauce or condiments on it (was supposed to come with bbq sauce). Patty tasted frozen, was overall awful. We have eaten here many times. I have a health condition that limits what I can eat, and they have always been accommodating. Service is usually good hit & miss but has gotten better. Thursday night, we were sat down and forgotten about. The girl that sat us just sat us gave us the menus but never said anything else. We watched as others were sat and served and even fed before us. We were there to celebrate my mom's birthday. It was just a party of 4, after about 25 plus minutes with not even a drink I stopped a waiter named Oscar. He was very polite and apologetic. He immediately got the manager Joy who came right over to talk to us. She really lives up to her name she was such a joy to talk to. We understand it was busy, especially at the bar area, it was opening day of baseball and the Dodgers were playing. Luckily they were winning :) so we weren't trying to make a scene about anything. But Joy was professional, and made sure we were taking care of. Between her and Oscar we forgot all about being forgotten about. The staff even sang happy birthday to my mom. Oscar and Joy thank you so much for going above and beyond, for being kind and working hard and most importantly making things right. We tried to nominate them for an eagle award but the link was saying it no longer it existed. These 2 definitely deserve recognition for outstanding customer service. 5 stars for staff that actually cared. PS the cooks did a great job with the food as well. read more

Nicole was our server. She was attentive, courteous and had an infectious smile and enthusiasm. Her second day and we were the lucky birthday group she took care of. We've been here before. The food menu, selections and varieties of sides to choose was a winner for us. We were surprised when all the serving staff came out and sang "Happy Birthday", to both of us birthday women, with chocolate cupcakes and a candle on each. Seemed like a really long time after ordering that it took to come out. I get it, good food takes time, but this was almost over the top for food that's already cooked. Also the rice pilaf had a strange off taste to it. Like maybe took on a flavor from the pot it was cooked on. Not horrible but not great either. This place was busy since they did have a car show outside but besides the wait to be seated the whole experience was terrible. The food was dry bland and no flavor the wings were dry nothing juicy about it. They recommended. The pizza was small not even a normal size pizza. Our onion blossom was burned and they had the audacity to bring it to our table. We mentioned our experience to the managers and they seemed like they didn't care. The Mac and cheese was . It had no flavor. We asked for something else. So we got sweet potato fries. They were good but would have tasted even better if they were fresh. The brisket was good. So we were out riding this past Sunday and decided to check out Eagle Mountain Casino. We had visited before but didn't eat at any of the restaurants they have. So we weren't even sure what we would find to eat. After entering the casino we just walked off to the left and I immediately saw The Redwood Tap House. It had just opened being that it was 11am. So we were seated quickly. I was immediately impressed by how spacious it was and how the layout really was planned out well. Especially when it came to placement of the TV screens. There were so many and in great spots. I will be here during football season. It really is that well set up. We were seated near the window and it didn't make a difference. I had a great view of all the screens. Our server gave us menus and took our drink orders. I was surprised to see such a good menu. Honestly I didn't know what to expect in this place. But they really have a great menu. After a good study of their great culinary offerings. My wife chose the Sliced Brisket Sandwich which came with potato salad and a nice salad. I chose the Blackened Catfish. It wasn't long before our food arrived being we were there pretty early. But as we waited we took in the atmosphere of this establishment. It was a really nice ride on the bike to get here. You could smell all the citrus trees and fresh air as we made our way to Eagle Mountain Casino. Our server wheeled out our food and wow did it looked amazing and so well put together. My catfish came in. Iron skillet and so did my wife's potato salad. I just was so excited to see that. Then to see how my food was prepared and put together. It was just so impressive to see they have pride in what they do. Man I tell you what. That was some dam good food. That catfish came on a bed of black bean cake with rice and a crawfish sauce that was absolutely amazing. I just couldn't get over the quality of this dish. My wife's food was equally delicious. We just grubbed. The whole time we were there I kept noticing this man clearing tables and making sure things looked good. That was nice to see someone taking pride in doing their job. The hamburger was dry and the bacon was burned. Fries and onion rings were were good. Baked beans- my husband liked them, I didn't care for them, they tasted like tomato sauce base. It would be nice to of had a pickle spear or pickles on the hamburger. Live music on Sunday was Awesome! Draft beer was cold, and that's always good. My Ribeye steak was most disappointing to my experience there. I was expecting a nice juicy (medium) seasoned steak with fresh hot onion rings.... Instead I got a room temperature steak that was like medium well, with no juices squirting out and very bland with the seasoning. My onion rings did not have the fresh hot crunch. Waited 30 minutes for food, with no communication from waitress - we had to flag down 2 others to get the drinks and appetizer we ordered. The stuffed baked potatoes were cold, as were the fries. Beautiful place, everything is brand new, a very well designed restaurant with lots of Tv's, small slots to play in the bar area, great service, the food presentation was great, big portions, but the flavor and the quality wasn't there. Our cocktails were tasteless and is a little pricey for what you are getting. Since this place just opened, is a "must" to have a successful start, so hopefully the "managers" put attention to the detail and work with the chefs. The atmosphere was nice, however several dishes were too gross to eat especially the deviled eggs. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! The "smokiness" of the eggs tasted like they were rotten.
