While the weather itself obviously isn't the venue's fault, it didn't feel like they were fully prepared for rainy conditions. The family ended up providing the tents to keep guests covered during the ceremony, and without speakers it was very difficult to hear anything that was being said. There was a small covered area available for shelter, but it wasn't enough to accommodate all of the guests. Overall, it's a charming venue, but it may be worth reconsidering or planning carefully if booking during a rainy season.

It was very easy for a very young child to walk around the whole area, no stroller needed. There were lots of animals to see, feed and pet. My only concern is that camel is in an extremely small space as is the longhorn cow. Some goats and llamas have no shade or shelter during the day. I did not see anybody being unkind to the pets, but there was not enough staff to patrol the people and keep the animals safe. Some of the animals backed away when I tried to pet them, even though I was being gentle. I hope they have alternative space and shelter to the ones I saw.

It took several minutes to be told that someone would be over shortly with an iPad to take our order. She arrived in a few minutes, with the same disappointing menu that I could have ordered from at the main bar to begin with. BTW, there are no bottles. There are single serve cans; white, pink, and red. I twice had to explain that we didn't need or want ice cups for our red wine, although, in retrospect, she may have been trying to warn us about what she would be delivering. I'm not expecting top shelf, but this was just not good. At $10/can, I appreciate having a value option at a venue. But please have some options for anyone who's not just drinking for the sake of drinking. The beer list isn't any better; all national-brand pilsner swill. Tulare has some great breweries! The tour guide said it was because of the house being old and moving, but who knows. They do guided tours all year round, telling you the history of the family who lived here, but they ONLY do the ghost tour starting in October, the cooler (temperatured) months.
