I chose Reed Appraisers based on the reviews, and I must say: trust every 5-star review here - Mike at Reed Appraisers is the best around! I contacted him after getting into my first accident - which was not my fault - about inspecting my car and evaluating the diminished value. From our first call he was professional, knowledgeable, and patient, making sure I was well informed of the process and potential outcomes. In fact, he encouraged me to hold off on scheduling an inspection and appraisal until after I received my initial offer from the insurance company (GEICO) in the event they met me with a fair price. Unfortunately, they came in lower than anticipated, so Mike and I quickly arranged for an inspection and appraisal. The inspection was quick and easy, and the report we received (over 40 pages in length) was incredibly thorough and well-articulated. I submitted the report to GEICO requesting the full amount Mike appraised the diminished value for. Unfortunately for me, there was a bit of back-and-forth with GEICO not wanting to pay the full amount requested, and I ultimately prepared to sue in small claims court. However, when push really came to shove, Mike's report won out and GEICO agreed to settle for the entire diminished value requested. While the process with the insurance company was frustrating (as one would imagine), Mike was honest, transparent, and willing to testify if the claim went to court. I was in an accident where my truck was totaled. My insurance company offered me half the value of the truck; I had done my homework and saw all the comps. Per a clause in my insurance policy, I was able to hire an appraisal company to dispute the offer made to me by my insurance company. I had never heard of diminished value claim which allows you to recover the loss in your car's appraisal value after an accident that wasn't your fault. I used the "Free Claim Review" option on Reed Appraiser's website. I was contacted and advised on my options with the insurance companies. The insurance company tried to low ball me and Reed appraisers coached me to get the full value of the claim. All of this was at no cost to me through the "Free Claim Review". I was referred to this company in 2019, and due to various life events and cleaning my email box I'm just now getting around to writing a review. First off, Mike is great! He's professional took the time to explain all the details to me. When my attorney suggested I get my car evaluated, I was completely lost and did not understand DV assessment or some of the things even the repair company could overlooked. Don't bother looking anywhere else, this company is great. My car got totaled from a rear end collision and I was getting nowhere with my insurance company on its valuation. Mike took the job and was very up front about what we'd be facing w insurance. He went to bat for me, and even had to negotiate with the insurance company's internal appraiser. Reed Appraisers was recommended by a member of our Corvette club, and Michael did a great job for me. After my parked 2017 Corvette was crashed into in a parking lot, their insurance company did pay for the repair. (The crash was recorded by my dash cam.) However, I needed an independent appraisal to file a diminished value claim. Michael minutely examined the car's exterior and pointed out his observations to me. He later sent a detailed 33-page report providing an analysis with supporting details of the before-crash and after-crash values. When I sent this to the insurer, they replied with a six-page report of their own that claimed the diminished value was far less. I forwarded it to Michael, who pointed out in detail how their evaluation did not meet industry standards. When I sent this to the insurer, they didn't respond until I threatened to involve the state insurance commission. Given the solid documentation Michael had provided, they sent a check for the full amount of his appraisal. The extra effort was well worth his reasonable fee. I used Reed Appraisers for my diminished value report when I was rear ended back in September of 2016. At the time of my accident, my car was only 4 months old and had approximately 2000 miles on the odometer (2016 Honda Accord Touring). After the car was repaired, I met with Mike for over an hour while he inspected my car in November. I received my diminished value report which I then submitted to Geico in late December. The Geico adjuster low-balled me on three separate occasions. Mike was easy to contact and gave me great advice regarding the diminished value process. He advised that Geico's last offer was still below market and so I filed a complaint and took Geico to small claims court. Geico decided to not settle prior to the court date so during the trial I submitted my diminished value report to the judge and was awarded the full amount of the diminished value since Geico had no other competing diminished value report. I had Reed Appraisers do a diminishment of value appraisal after my vehicle was half destroyed in an accident and the insurance company insisted on fixing it. Michael did a very thorough inspection of the car and found some minor repair issues that I hadn't spotted. He gave me a very detailed report. Unfortunately the insurance company insisted on using the 17c formula, which is based on nothing and puts a very low monetary number on the diminishment of value. The diminishment of value appraisal gave me a good bargaining tool and I was able to negotiate a higher amount of money from the insurance company than I would have gotten without it. The insurance company also reimbursed me for the fee that I paid for the appraisal. Overall I'm very satisfied with the service. read more

5 Stars. They saved me from the greed and selfishness of my very own car insurance company (Progressive), who I'll be leaving very soon. I worked with Mike and Amy from Reed Appraisers. They were extremely professional. They were very up-front about the whole process, how long it would take, what to expect from the car insurance company (which was spot-on), prepared an extremely detailed report, and Mike even spent a few minutes on the phone with my insurance company to help explain the methodology of the report and why the car insurance was inexperienced and extremely incorrect in their counter valuation/appraisal. My 2013 BMW suffered a $25,000 repair at the hands of a drunk driver who struck it while PARKED. My own car insurance tried to screw me over in the process and the body shop took 3x longer than they said they would in fixing the car. Reed Appraisers was the silver lining in this entire experience. I know who to use the next time something like this happens. I settled the Diminished Value claim with my car insurance, and thankfully didn't get taken advantage of like most car owners do. To be honest, I had never heard of the term "diminished value" until a friend of mine introduced me to Mike at Reed Appraisers. Mike's knowledge and the information he provided me throughout the process was invaluable. That introduction was lucky for me too, because during his thorough inspection, post-repair, of my vehicle he found serious issues with the repairs that were completed. I would have never known about the substandard repairs, until the car started to rust out from underneath me.
