First time here. Needed a battery replaced on my Gucci watch. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes and only $10! Very friendly and quick service. He even took a moment to make sure everything was "good" on the watch. He found that the last place that replaced the battery put the plastic band on the battery compartment on upside down, which is a bad thing. If that had broken, I'd be looking at $40 to replace it. Others have already commented on their service in changing watch batteries, I'm commenting about their servicing of Swiss time pieces. Based on a buddy's recommendation, I visited Charly's to ask about serving my Swiss watch. I was hesitant because it has not been serviced in over ten years and I was concerned about the cost and the ability of the shop to service it. Joon, the son takes care of the business aspect and Charly, the father is the master watch technician who works in the back fixing and servicing watches. I dropped off my watch and within a day, Joon called to inform me the work required to bring it to standard. I was surprised at the cost, but then remembered what it would have cost had I serviced it at an authorized dealer. The estimated time was two weeks and I was again surprised when Joon called to inform me that it was completed in a week! Yes, I have been negligent in servicing my time piece - I will be more diligent now that I have a place that I can have it serviced. Yes, great service, great prices. I couldn't find a good place to get the pins on my watch replaced. The last jewelry store just tried to bend the pins back because they didn't have the pins I needed. A friend suggested this shop and I went in to have the pins fixed. I walked out with a new watch for work and the pins on my Invicta watch fixed. All under 10min. Took my Seiko watch into Charly's to get the battery replaced on a weekday morning shortly after 10AM. Five minutes (and eight dollars) later, my watch was running again! I've accumulated several antique clocks during my travels, and each time I take the new acquisition to Charly's Watch and Clock shop in Fairfax. One of those clocks is nearly 300 years old, and all are over 100. In each case Charly has restored the workings of the clock to the point that it works perfectly. In two instances he has also restored the cases where they were split down the back. The result is that I have several beautiful clocks whose chimes I enjoy all day.
