Sometimes long wait to get an appointment The only drawback since they've joined with the hospital system as they no longer offer any samples of eyedrops etc. Glasses in the optical shop are also very pricey. Dr. Zatreanu is overbooked. Unable to contact them after a shot with side effects by phone. Through portal 3 days later. Gave a shot that cost $$$ after getting another shot with no copay. No warning. Had to leave this practice after 38 years. read more

Had a referral sent here over 2 weeks ago due to a problem identified from another doctor. I havve called here several times to check on the referral. Was told twice someone would call me ASAP. Spent 3 more days calling just to hear recordings. Have spent a total of 1 hour 43 minutes on hold. If this is thd way this office is managed, i eant nothing to do with them. They tell you what you want to hear, and then dont answer their phone. Ridiculous! No patient service at all. Dont waste your time. read more

After being away from Reeds Eye Associates for many years because of ridiculous insurance reasons I decided to go back to Dr. Charles Ellermyer because of my diabetic eye issues. I made an appointment months ago. I went to my appointment today and I was refuse entrance. They precede to tell me on June 8 they left me a message to reschedule that I was TOTALLY UNAWARE of. Excuse me ... if you had not heard back from me why did you not call me again before today's appointment??? The receptionist was rude and kept over talking me. She told me: "NO way will you be seen today!" Well NO WAY will I ever walk into this unprofessional office. You lose a patient. My advice to others is this office is NOT as upscale as they think they are. Save yourself the aggravation and find a PROFFESSIONAL office. read more

I had a great experience, my exam was very thorough and the front desk staff were very nice. The glasses are expensive, but it is very low pressure to buy from them. Reed Eye Associates is bot what it used to be. i was a patient for over 25 years. i recently had an eye emergency during normal business hours and was told they could see me in 3 days!!!??? All of the original doctors are gone and the ones along with the new doctors are worthless. Avoid this practice. read more

I'm pleased to be a patient of Dr. Rosati! She is so upbeat and kind and explains everything she is doing in detail. The eye exam is very thorough and leaves no stone unturned. At my last visit, she found a slight issue with my right eye and scheduled an appointment with a specialist right away just to be extra careful. She also offered me plenty of options in terms of what I could ask for when I picked out my glasses. This made it easier when I tried on frames and ordered lenses. I knew exactly what to say to get what I needed at a price point that didn't make me balk. The glasses here ARE a little pricey if you don't have great insurance. It might be in your favor to get your prescription information and order elsewhere if you're on a tight budget. If not, they have many varied options for frames and lenses. Pretty much everything you could want--transition lenses, anti-glare, designer and budget frames, etc. The optometrists are helpful as well. When I went to pick up my glasses last time, I noticed that they were slightly off kilter as I drove away. I turned around and went back and they fixed them no problem. The office staff is decently friendly, but I can't recommend Dr. Rosati enough. She is the reason I'll continue coming back. I've never felt so confident in a doctor! read more

I recently purchased a pair of glasses from Reed. I ordered glass lenses with Photo Gray tinting. The glasses did not tint, so I brought them back to see what they could do. The said they had to send the glasses back to the Lab to get new lenses. It took 2 weeks for my glasses to get remade. When I got my glasses back, they still do not tint. So, I paid a boat load of money for a pair of glasses that aren't what I ordered. Bottom Line, Reed Eye Associates sell overpriced glasses and expect you accept the fact that they cannot honor a request. I will never go to Reed again and will never recommend them to family or friends. read more

Great doctors but the optical shop leaves a lot to be desired. Spent over $1,000 on two pairs of glasses which came in in a week, but have to wait two weeks for an appt to get them fitted. Don't sell what you aren't equipped to give follow up service on. read more

I went in for an eye exam and to get a glaucoma exam and was told by the optometrist who did the tests that I have symptoms of glaucoma and would need a lot more tests. I then went to an MD not affiliated with Reed who told me none of those results were matching his results which showed no enlarged nerve or high pressure in eye, symptoms the Reed optometrist found. Unless you are getting glasses for something do not waste your time and money here, they are either scamming everyone or just are not educated enough read more

I found the staff to be rude, I was denied making second appoint. For an infected eyelid I contracted there. The Dr. I saw was incompetent and confused, butchered my eyelid trying to rid it of clogged oil duct. The comtacts they sold me were unwearable,paid for them, but never wore them. Kept my old lenses that were 15 yrs. old. What a disaster that place is! read more

I went to Reed Eye Associates for new glasses and contacts recently. I have numerous issues with my eyes and require special attention when replacing my contacts and glasses. The OD who assisted me, Dr. Rajiv Trivedi, was very professional, thorough and friendly. He even told me I didn't need new contacts and could easily go another year with the current ones. The assistant who helped me choose my new glasses was patient and took the time to figure what I liked and what would look good. I was very pleased with my first visit to and have nothing but good things to say about Reed Eye Associates. read more

The optometrists seem fine but the front office staff--specifically those who man the phones at the Perinton office--are so incredibly rude and condescending to both me and my husband. All we're trying to do is make an appointment--which brings them business--and they act as if we're inconvenient idiots who have the nerve to interrupt their day. Totally unacceptable. The receptionists, etc. are the front door to your business and if you don't ensure that they provide a welcoming, polite reception, then you may just find that your customers will take their business elsewhere, which is exactly what we intend to do. read more

I took mom's advice and switched to Reed Eye. WOW...mom was right again. I saw Dr. Farrar and was extremely pleased. Great experience overall. The practice is big, many doctors and services available. They were very patient and helpful in helping me find the right glasses. I didn't mind the exam at all and it was very thorough. Have been going here since 2012 and never had a problem until 2017. I was told I needed a VFT to check for glaucoma . I had the test done on 5/4/2017. After the test I was told I would need to have my eyes examined again, I had a complete eye exam three weeks prior so I questioned the need of having another. I was told that was how Dr Bloom works. I was also told I would have my eyes dilated , I then told the woman who brought me in to the examination room that I did not have a spare pair of my daily contacts and that even if I did I could not put them on my eyes with my pupils dilated . I told her I needed my glasses but I did not have them with me because I had no idea I would be having this exam . She become somewhat surly over that , so I apologized and said we would have to reschedule another appointment . When I got home I sent an email to Reed regarding what happened . Five days later I was told my appointment was cancelled and that Dr Bloom would no longer have me as a patient. He also told me I had glaucoma, but he, or anyone else at Reed would not treat me. The Unprofessional attitude by "Dr Bloom" shocked me. I would tell people to avoid Reed Eye . There are many eye care professionals in the Rochester area that have better ethical standards . read more

Reed Eye Associates is considered to be one of the best names in the area, however my experience has been nothing but multiple visits to not finding the right lenses either and contacts or and Eyeglasses. I have had to come back from multiple fittings and change optometrist there. Everybody is very nice, however the service from understanding how to meet your expectations for your eye requirements is sorely lacking. My previous experience was with the phloem Institute and though a little difficult to get to as to where they're located, it was a much better experience and they were spot-on. I guess I learned it's worth going out of the way for something that works. read more

I had my eyes checked here this week. Everyone was very nice. I didn't have hardly any wait at all to be seen. It was probably the most thorough exam I have ever had. The doctor took his time during the exam and fully explained my options for purchasing contacts and/or glasses based on the results of my exam. I didn't feel pressured at all to purchase glasses or contacts. They had a large selection of frames and the only reason I didn't purchase frames there was I felt they were a little pricey, despite the 30% off they give for first time patients. They were not unreasonable prices, but I'm on a tight budget so I'll probably go to a budget place to purchase frames. They woman who was helping me look was very helpful nonetheless helping me find a style/color that was good for my face shape. Highly recommend!! read more

I would absolutely recommend this practice! I called with a problematic eye infection a few weeks back and was able to be seen that day as a new patient. Since then, I have had to return multiple times and have been seen by Dr. Williams, Dr. Trivedi and Dr. Bloom, all of whom which have been very sincere and genuinely seem to want to help. If you are not prepared to buy glasses, be prepared to wait. It is a eyeglass store that can write prescriptions. After declining to purchase any glasses, I was led back to my exam room (eyes already dialated) and waited 40 minutes before I finally just left.
