I really enjoyed dinner tonight. The flu was flavorful, and the Poké bowl was a bit of a spicy side, which I like the miso soup was really good. I actually added my mom's miso soup to my bowl since she was like tofu. I usually get the sushi rolls there, but I wanted to do a more low-carb version. The service was really good. The waitress understood my dietary concerns. The ambiance was nice. There was not too huge of a crowd, but I hear this place usually gets packed where you have to wait. read more

Great choice on our trek to Yosemite from Los Angeles. Really glad we stopped here instead of our usual fast food. We got two bento boxes (dark chicken and salmon) and both were tasty and enormous. (We probably could have just gotten one for the both of us!) It comes with miso soup, salad, rice, tempura, california rolls, and the protein of your choice. We had extra to eat for leftovers the next day. There's indoor and outdoor seating. It was pretty busy when we went but service was still good. Had a great lunch here today in Kingsburg at Bento 2 Go! I Had the Snow White with Seaweed instead of soy paper and the Shrimp and Veg tempura. Both were very good! Occasionally, the family would drop off Bento 2 Go for my Grandma, so after running errands she requested we pick up a meal here. It's a casual and no-frills spot. Easy-to-read menu, well-priced dishes, ample options, and friendly down-to-earth service. Ordering is simple--done at the counter with dine-in or take-out. We chose the latter but there are a few tables inside. Japanese paintings and decor fill the restaurant reminding me of my Grandma's home. Grandma wanted some bentos so we got the Salmon Bento Box and Chicken Bento Box. The bento is generously packed with shrimp and veggie tempura, well-portioned protein, California roll, rice, and salad. She loves their tempura--crispy and tasty. Both proteins were tender and juicy with a nice teriyaki glaze. They also serve other rice bowls, sushi, and stir fry. Considering there aren't many eateries in Kingsburg--Bento 2 Go is a one-of-a-kind place. This is nothing fancy, but great for the area. I never expected to find this treasure in the Central Valley. We were traveling through and randomly stopped here. Perhaps one of the best sushi spots I've been to with my family. The first hint I knew this place was special was the real wasabi (not the paste). The fish was fresh, and all the other dishes were delicious! Also have to hand it to how attentive the staff was. Yummy! Definitely the best Japanese in town. I am a little picky because I've been to really great Japanese restaurants around the world. The couple of notes I have are that the tempura has slightly too much batter and that the volcano roll was slightly chewy. The Kingsburg roll is great! Bento boxes come with a bunch of food. Definitely enough for leftovers. In addition to the protein, you get 2 tempura pieces, 3 California roll pieces, salad, rice, and miso soup. Also note that the spam musubi comes as 3 pieces. I thought I ordered one and was pleasantly surprised when I got 3. Hefty portion of edamame as well. Food was super hot even after the drive home and it was on time for pickup which I appreciated. They gave 2 tempura shrimps. Price is on higher side for a small town. The daily special is much better option. Pork loin Tonkatsu bowl. Come with free fountain drink. Less than $10. Crunchy flakes tendered meat fluffy rice. They also have some sushi menu. Made daily fresh. Again, price is on expensive side for non-sushi restaurant. Service is typical like fast food style. Like Waba Grill and such except this one on slower side. Good option for traveller when needing some decent bento box meal. Located in a strip mall. Got some take out. They recently opened near the T-Mobile call center. This is the Salmon Bento. Chicken stir fry minus the carrots. And a shrimp tempura roll. Everything was very good. Tasted like home cooking. They have sushi ready to go. And there was quite a selection. I'll definitely be back to check out some other things on their menu. read more

I refuse to give a brand new place still trying to work out the kinks a bad review, but here are some honest thoughts. The beef is a little over done, but again, they're new! Great chicken options, the grilled chicken is kind of bleh but the Katsu styled looking chicken looks delicious. Tempura veggies were yummy. The fried rice is not so good as it's a little salty and doesn't quite taste like fried rice. The steamed rice was great. The teriyaki sauce definitely stole the show as it was not overly heavy like a lot of teriyaki sauces tend to be. Everything aside, we'll be back and can't wait for this new spot to flourish! read more
