What happened to this place? Sansei was the go-to sushi restaurant in the area. A little hidden treasure. The food was great. The service was acceptable and they had a convenient way of ordering.... Fast forward to today and they're a shell of their former selves. To begin, they stopped taking online orders. Secondly, they NEVER answer their phones. Once, we called 3 times and about 40 minutes later they called us back, after we picked up sun china Chinese food instead. On the off chance that they're not closed for extended vacations, the food is ok. Do yourselves a favor and take the drive to Clovis, Fresno or Visalia. Sansei is done. read more

Worse experience I've ever had there. Service was herendous and they weren't even that busy. My food sat on the sushi counter for 15 min before the waitress picked up. Of course by that time my food was cold and I couldn't eat. When I said something to waitress it was ignored! Now I understand why restaurant wasn't that busy....BAD SERVICE. read more

Pretty disappointed to give this place less than 4 stars. Sansei has been a staple for sushi in the area for several years. However, since covid, the service and experience has gone down in quality and does not look to be improving. The hours are insane and constantly changing. The same amount of hours distributed over the weekend would increase traffic. The combination of order at the counter / table service also makes for an uncomfortable dining experience. I haven't been able to visit in a few months due to their short hours, but the sushi has been consistently good and fresh every visit. I hope to visit again soon! read more

On July 25th instead of driving to Visalia we decided to come to Reedley to celebrate a family birthday. We have always loved Sansei but this visit was underwhelming. Since they do not have table side service anymore and have to order everything at the cash register the service wasn't as attentive as I remember it being. We order 2 Tarantula rolls, 1 Red Dragon, 1 Sansei Blossom, 2 orders of baked mussels, salmon belly nigiri and an order of Inari. The tarantula rolls tasted mainly of cream cheese and rice, you couldn't taste the soft shell crab. The baked mussels were over cooked which made them extremely chewy. It was also very frustrating that if you wanted another drink or an additional dish you had to get up from the table, wait in line, order and pay at the register. Pleasantly surprised to find decent sushi in Reedley! We had the dragonfly and yum yum rolls, the yum yum being the better one surprisingly because it was the cheaper one. It was light sweet and stuffed with crab, shrimp tempura and cream cheese while the dragonfly was a bit more filling and had tuna. My favorite was the sesame chicken (like Katsu chicken) and had a thick tonkatsu sauce that's like a thick gravy-teriyaki sauce with white rice--it was a simple meal choice but super good. I hadn't been here it quite some time but it appears they've changed some thing up like offering online ordering, remodeling and new menu items. This place is pretty popular in Reedley so I'd recommend ordering online ASAP if you're ordering on a Friday night. When your man friend has the day off from work and drives to the town you're in to give you a much needed lunch break from school and says "my treat", you know it's gonna be a lovely day. What's better than a lovely day you may ask? A great meal makes a lovely day a fantastic day. This may seem a little irrelevant, but it's the way I was feeling and I must brag a little of the sacrifices my vato makes for me at times. Any who, I had driven by this place many times this year and many moons ago because I used to work in Reedley and never thought to give this place a try. Ron sauce was the one that suggested it and I was completely fine with his choosing. When I walked in, I was completely taken away by how nice it is. It looks very roomy, modern with a Japanese twist. By the looks of it, it has been recently remodeled because a lot of the booths were newer looking. The food was great as well. The lunch menu had a variety of selections and the prices were just right. I had the sesame chicken bowl which had a really generous amount of chicken. It was a tad over salted but not enough to fuss about. I tasted Ron's Almond shrimp and they were like nothing I have ever had. They were good, really good. I didn't get to try the sushi because it was protected like it had an electric fence around it. I'm sure he offered but I was too into my chicken bowl to even notice. Service was excellent. Our server was friendly and offered some suggestions including their homemade spicy sauce which was delicious. I will be returning soon to try out a few other menu items that caught my attention and also to take more pictures. Definitely a must try, if you're in the area of course. read more

This is a definite go-to spot of mine in Reedley whenever I'm in town. The quality of the food is phenomenal and the sushi is some of the best in the area. I've never experienced a meal here that I wasn't pleased with, and I'm always excited to try new things on their menu because I know they'll be delicious. Please do try the sushi - I can vouch for everything, especially the Dragon Roll, Dragonfly Roll, and Tigger Roll. Other entrees, such as the O-bowl, and teriyaki chicken bowl are also fantastic. The restaurant is very clean and the tables are bussed immediately after customers leave. The renovated dining area is very spacious and open, and good for groups and conversation without feeling stuffy. There can be a bit of a wait during dinner time, but in my experience, if you show up around 5 with a margin of about 10 minutes, you have a good chance of finding a table and beating the majority of the dinner rush. I've been coming here for years with my family and friends and the food, service, and ambiance is constantly great. This is the kind of place I would take a friend or family member visiting Reedley out to dinner. I'm glad to have enjoyed a lovely meal at Sansei with my family last night - I'm already looking forward to my next visit! read more

First of all, they never answer their phone!! It's inconvenient for mothers who have kids and just want to grab something fast for a pick up order. So I go in and make my order, just a poke bowl. I was told it would only take 15-20 mins-perfect. i came in before the rush happened. People who came in way after me are getting their food before me. I WAITED ALMOST AN HOUR FOR A POKE BOWL!! My 2 year old was sick of just sitting in the car and I have a 4 month old screaming ready to go home and eat too. I was fuming watching people coming in after me getting their food before me!! Ordered the crunchy tuna roll, tempura crab roll, cougar roll, and Las Vegas roll. Overall favorites were the cougar roll and crunchy tuna. Also ordered some egg rolls prior to ordering the sushi. I love eating here. It's perfect for friends, coworkers, dates, family. The presentation of food is what sells, and they kill it every time. The sushi is rolled good and they have many delicious flavors. The tempura is delicious and not greasy. I definitely recommend to eat here if you haven't tried it.
