I highly recommend Reeds Pharmacy. This business runs at such a high level of professionalism they are unsurpassed by many experiences I've had with Pharmacies. They offer various consultations for men and women (and pets!) based on hormonal needs and prescribe more specific bloodwork so that they can design natural medication to you. The Sustained Release Thyroid Hormone replacement medication does not work. I gave them a 2nd chance for a better batch with a 2nd very expensive 90 day supply and I feel just as sick as I did on the first batch. I have been using clean compounded thyroid medication for many years while living in other States, but this felt like I was taking a Placebo. I was also never asked about what fillers to use either as I have in the past at other Compounding pharmacies. Having an option for delivery was the only positive thing. Bloodwork confirmed I am severely Hypothyroid now since starting this medication. read more

I was prescribed a medication my MD recommended should be filled at a compound pharmacy. Reeds pharmacy is the closest one to me, being 4 hours away round trip. I got a notification my prescription was received and that I needed to call to have it filled with the business hours listed on it. I called and stated I will be there Tuesday (New Years day) and will be driving several hours to come get it, and it was set into motion. I drove two hours and got there by 2pm, to find they had been closed for an hour already. Nobody informed me on the phone when I stated I will be there TUESDAY before they closed (which at that point was only a few days away) of shortened holiday hours that day, and that was their window of opportunity. I knew it was a holiday and they stated on the phone they will be open, with no clarification of different holiday hours. That's simply just neglect. I drove back home that day and called a few days later (after the holidays) and set up shipping because I was not able to return to Tucson again for another two weeks. I expressed my concern that nobody informed me, a customer driving 4 hours for this medication, of shortened holiday hours despite being very clear and telling them on the phone I will be there that day AND I will be driving from out of town. The employee on the phone could offer ZERO sympathy for the situation and charged me for shipping. Will not be returning my business to this pharmacy and do not recommend it to others at this time. However she looked online and found a site that sold it for a lot less money than what my vets office wanted. Saved me about 100 dollars. Unfortunately I am forced to use Reed's Pharmacy because I deeply love my pets and I do not own a car. They are within walking distance of my home and in an emergency there is not time to use an online alternative. I have used Reeds for many years and about 4 or 5 times in the past month due to an illness affecting my guinea pig herd. I have spent well over $400 there this month. You would think they would appreciate my business. Not so. The staff at the front counter are A+, polite and kind. Its the pharmacists running this business who I have seen behave very rudely and unprofessionally. There seems to be a great deal of pent up anger on the part of the pharmacy staff that people expect to be able to get their medicines quickly. One day, just hours after one my beloved pets had died in my arms, I made the mistake of showing up 15 minutes earlier than they told me to come. The front desk woman went back into the glass enclosed pharmacy area to ask if it was ready. The pharmacist there (Courtney Miros) started waving her arms around wildly and seemed to be speaking to the front desk person in an angry and agitated manner. The front desk woman then returned to me to say, almost embarrassed to have to say it, that I should go away and return when I was told to come. It was clear that the rude comment was not coming from her but from the frustrated angry pharmacist. I was not offered to wait. I was told to leave because I had shown up 15 minutes early. It is clear to me that Courtney Miros was angry over something (as she often appears to be when I see her scowling and walking around the business) and she took it out on me and the front desk clerk at that moment. Having just suffered the death of a pet, I was too beaten down to stand up for myself. I said ok. went outside, sat behind the building and cried for 15 minutes about how rotten people can be. In the days since that experience, I have felt afraid to express to this pharmacy when I urgently need a medication to save a pet's life. Instead, I feel forced to bow to their convenience. They do not offer to have emergency medications available the same day the doctor prescribes them. Instead they assume that it is safe to have it for you late the next day- and in a veterinary emergency that can cost an animal their life. A business should not make customers in need of life saving medicines feel afraid to ask for what they need- its just not right. I have been making all of my vets aware of this problem so they can avoiding using Reed's when a medicine is needed urgently and promptly. This is a matter of safety. The vets want you to start the medicine they are prescribing immediately in most cases and they are not aware that this pharmacy can become antagonistic towards people asking for medicine the same day. Years ago when Thomas Reed, the founding pharmacist of this business, was around on a daily basis, I was treated with respect and there was a sense of good customer service. That is now gone along with his presence. Its very sad. This business has gone downhill in the last few years. Again, I have to say the front desk staff is always professional. The poor attitudes and unprofessionalism I have experienced has come from the pharmacists running this business. I have searched extensively online for better alternative. If you can afford to wait 3 or 4 business days, there is an online compounding pharmacy in NJ called Wedgewood that offers great customer service and the same compounded medications at about 30% of the cost (yes you read that right, that is how inflated the prices at Reeds are). I wish I could take my business elsewhere, but I give my pets excellent veterinary care so I will continue to be forced to use them in some emergencies. However, when there is an alternative I will take it. I do not recommend this business. If you own a car, there are two other compounding pharmacies in Tucson that are likely better than this one (almost anything would be better than the rudeness I encountered at a painful time). There is a sense of constant stress and unhappiness you can feel as soon as you walk in the door. This business has declined with the departure of founder. It used to be a wonderful hometown business. It has become something toxic that I dread having to deal with. UPDATE: I found an excellent specialty pet compounding pharmacy in Phoenix that gives free next day shipping and is an outstanding option called Roadrunner. There number is (623) 434-1180 and their website is roadrunnerpharmacydotcom . My vet prescribed special antibiotic eye ointment for my pigs and it was in my hand the next evening (I called them and asked them to rush it- they were professional, kind and understanding). Second Update: I now use Acacia compounding pharmacy on Orange Grove. Its a little far from the center of town where I live but they fully understand and respect the need for same day antibiotics-excellent service! read more

I was very skeptical in trying new meds but had heard great things from my doc about this pharmacy's pain gel concoction. Let me tell you it works! After having multiple surgeries any pain relief is a miracle- not only does this cream/gel work but everyone in this pharmacy was super helpful and informative. Small businesses like this are what make Tucson feel like family. Every time i call everyone from the techs to the pharmacists make you feel comfortable and try to answer as many questions as they can. This pharmacy has a great variety of supplements in the front and if they don't have them out in front they'll even check if they can order them for you. They also have DoTerra essential oils which are more than just scent they actually have healing abilities (dont knock til you try it)! Oh and if you need Hormone Replacement Therapies this is your place to go! They also offer several different seminars on sexual disorders. And the kicker they can help with vet meds too! Inefficient. Slow. I was told my Rx would be ready at a certain time and it wasn't so I had to stick around that area of town for a couple hours to wait and it still wasn't ready! The next time I ordered a refill the girl over the phone said they could send it to me by mail, and when I got it 5 days later she failed to mention there would be a $5 charge to mail it. Well what can follow that nasty review, but my experience. I have only dealt with Courtney , and she was the reason I came back with most of my questions and pharmacy help. I hade to get Meds for valley fervor for my pet. This was a stressful time for me and my wife, not having kids, my boy dog was my Baby. But with the unbelievable caring team at Reeds and Courtney's help we got him back to his ball chasing ways in no time. Every time my puppy goes in the store he makes him self at home and gets all kind of love. I think this place is what every mom and pop store should be like, caring and filled with local people who care about there clients and the town it self, (They LOVE UofA). Am very pleased with their service and helpful employees, especially the pharmacists I've spoken with regarding my current scripts. Only thing I really dislike (which really doesn't have to do with Reed's service!) is the location and parking. I have been using this pharmacy for more years than I remember and their service has always been great. I recently had a mix-up with the Doctor's office calling in an old prescription. Needless to say I picked it up and paid for it not realizing it was incorrect until a couple days later. I contacted the Doctor's office and they called the pharmacy. Reed's agreed to refill the correct perscriptions and exchange those with the incorrect ones I had already picked-up. EXCELLENT service that you just don't find these days. Run, don't walk from the retail part of this pharmacy. My experience has not been positive. I purchased 3 pairs of shoes about 7 months ago & was told by Amber who was in charge of that area at the time that the return policy was no matter what, if these shoes didn't fit or you didn't like the way they fit within a year could be returned for the full purchase price. I was told that the brand Dr Comfort stood behind their shoes. 2 pairs of shoes worked super & I am pleased but the third pair which was the style Megan a cross-training running hiking shoe did not work, I went hiking a couple of weeks ago and the lateral movement was too much it would not hold my foot in place, my foot rolled. So I decided to return them last week and asked for Amber but she is no longer in charge of the shoes Maria is in charge of the shoes. So I told Maria what went on & what transpired between Amber and me and she said that's not our policy we will not return your shoes. I tried to explain that this was the policy I was told and I would hope that they would honor the policy and frankly I thought just exchanging them for another pair of some other kind of shoe would've been fine for me but that never even came up this young woman was empathic and not particularly pleasant, I've been in retail for years and you just can't treat customers the way I was treated in that pharmacy there's just no reason for it if you're polite and nice that's what you will get back if you're nasty and confrontational that's what you will get back from the customer. I said I'll call Amber when she's available to discuss it with her since she's the one that did the policy in the beginning. And I left with the shoes in hand . Amber is only available on Thursdays between noon and five so I called yesterday around 330 and I was told Amber does not do shoes anymore and I said yes I'm aware of that but I'd like to speak with her and then Maria gets on the phone and says Amber does not do shoes anymore you can talk to me and I said no I need to talk to Amber about the situation. Well , not surprised Amber avoided my call and Maria said she is only here till five and I said well I'm available and more than happy for her to call me before she leaves and that would be great. Did I ever get a phone call ? absolutely not. So this is one very unsatisfied customer and I will absolutely never do any retail purchase in that store again. I even called Dr. comfort and they were surprised about the policy that I was told about (usually 8 months) but they said every store sets their own prices and their own policy so Dr. comfort has nothing to do with it. I also found out that you can buy this brand on Amazon for a fraction of what I paid. Now as for a compounding pharmacy, Reeds is stellar and I will continue to use them for that, they do a fantastic job in that department. As far as the retail is concerned they need to train their staff to be a little bit more agreeable and a little bit nicer to the customer and to try to find a solution ...I would've been open to anything that was reasonable but I got no choice i'm sorry to say. read more

Beware of this pharmacy! We recently bought an acapella breathing device--made entirely of plastic, but $85. When the pharmacist brought it out, she seemed really unsure as to how it worked, but provided me with written instructions, including how to sterilize it after use. One of the sterilization methods was to boil the parts for 5 minutes. After we did this, some of the parts were warped and the device is no longer usable. Reeds now refuses to refund our $85 but insists we go to Smith's (their supplier) for a refund. Talk about a runaround--first you can't get in touch with them, then they told us the device wasn't supposed to be taken apart--just no straight answers from either Smith's or Reeds. Both, especially Reeds is taking advantage of sick people and preying on them. I bought the device from Reeds, why don't they refund my money? It's been a true nightmare. Please tell anyone who is thinking of using them to NOT! I have a serious lung disease and really need this device to help with my breathing. Does Reeds care? No, they are just a money-grubbing typical pharmaceutical company. read more
