Your diamond fell out when I cleaned it and we was like what's the protocol and she said I was supposed to come out and tell you that the diamonds were loose and give you an option if you still want to have it done. These guys and gals are all well trained on the subject and they do a GREAT job working with customers who don't understand the in's and out's of buying diamonds, gold, etc. I have been to this location several times where i'm always helped by a young man named Prince. He is an awesome salesman as he takes his time to learn your needs and then he tailors his presentation to meet you where you want it. He's always helpful and customers come in that place all day looking for him. Ask me how i know, well one day i was there getingg my fiance's ring cleaned and during the duration of 5 minutes i witnessed at least 3 differend couples come by seeking his help. Always eager to help and full of knowledge. This location is great. Its hidden on the lower level of Southpoint mall facing JC Pennys. Theresa at south point claimed she would get the ring in time for us to leave Sunday. Told us to shop no place else, the ring didn't get there on time. Now we're out of luck. Never again. Horrible customer service. She didn't get us the ring no phone call probably lost our number what a horrible sales lady. We could have gone to another jeweler and got the ring on time for Valentine's Day. She totally screwed up by promising us a ring by Friday. read more

If I could give the Reed's Jewelers of Southpoint a -0 I would. Please do not take your jewelry for repairs at this location. I have a lifetime warranty on my earrings that I received last year for my birthday from my daughter. The diamond earrings were purchased in Va, one of the diamonds came out of one of my earrings so I took it to the Southpoint location for repairs. When I dropped off my earring I was told it could take about 3 weeks for the initial repair to be completed because the jeweler was currently out of work at the time and other repairs were due prior to mines. I had agreed to the timing of repairs and I was told to leave BOTH earrings at the store. I asked the salesman "You need both of them, only one need repairs" the salesmen replied with "yes I need both pair". At that time I felt very iffy and I should have listened to my instinct and left only one earrings but I didn't. That was the biggest Mistake of all and from this moment this is where it gets even worse. My earring was "repaired" within a week and a half , I received an email from Eduardo on 4/20 stating my earrings were ready for pickup and that upon arrival he would need my phone number because it wasn't noted in their system. Wait what??? no phone number all of this information was on my receipt and warranty. When I arrived at Reed's Jeweler of Southpoint on 4/23 to pick up my earrings Eduardo was the salesman that handed me my "repaired" earring. When I saw my earrings I was horrified, those were NOT the earrings I had dropped off for repairs. I haven't even worn the earrings for a year. The earrings Eduardo gave me were old and yellowish. The backings of the earrings looked like they were from the .99 cent store. Please see the pictures below for comparison. I told Eduardo the earrings were not mines, and he replied with those are the earrings indicated in their system for repair from the jeweler. He asked me if I wanted to wear the earrings out and I replied with "no". He wrapped them in a plastic tiny zip bag and placed them in a envelope. I was so disappointed but I didn't feel the need to go back and forward with him. I just took my lost with my earrings. What was a beautiful birthday gift turned out to be swapped for something cheap and awful. I had respect for Reed's Jewelry especially with the respectful mannerism from their customer services. Please do not take your jewelry to Reed's for repairs, take them somewhere else to avoid the hurt that I encountered. I would not recommend this to anyone. read more

I unfortunately had an awful experience with Reeds Jewelers at the Southpoint Mall in Durham, NC. I took my engagement ring into the store to get it resized on March 7th, with the expectation that it would be ready around March 28th, give or take a few days. March 28th came and went and I heard nothing from the store. I went in on March 30th and was told if you haven't gotten a call, it's not ready. I said okay, thank you. Weeks went by and yesterday, April 14th, I called the store to follow up and was told that they didn't know where my ring was or why it was taking so long. The person I spoke to on the phone was very defensive, not at all apologetic and was just pretty flippant about the whole situation. I feel like as a paying customer, I was pretty calm and just wanted to receive some communication about the timeline. I went back to the store today, April 15th and found out that the ring still hasn't even been worked on because their service center was waiting on an email response from Reeds that was never answered. Needless to say, I asked them to just ship the ring back so I can take it somewhere else to be serviced. read more

I was not impressed with their repair service. I went to have a battery replaced for a Movado, and was quoted $65+ with a 2 week turn-around time. I told them I would check with another jeweler, and was told that the other jeweler I had mentioned would charge more. The other jeweler in fact only charged $30 (was also an authorized Movado repair site) and returned my timepiece in 2 days. read more

So rude! As a 31-year, generous customer of Reeds, I was treated so disrespectfully. After waiting for an Employee to help me with my diamond ring inspection and a new watch battery, I was told to come back later because only one person could change the battery. 45 minutes later I was told that person was waiting on a customer and I would have to wait. I stood there for 15 minutes until she checked him out, and thought she would turn to me. At that minute, another customer came in who had a more expensive order to pick up, so she ignored me and went to sit down with him for a long talk! In spite of the thousands I have spent at this store, my current purchase was small and so I was completely ignored. How rude! I will take my business elsewhere. read more

Last week, I bought a watch for a friend and decided I wanted to get it engraved. I called a bunch of jewelers and the folks at Reed's were one of two who were ready, willing, and able to do the job. They were also the friendliest of the bunch. Today, I dragged my wife over to Southpoint to run a few errands and to get the watch engraved. The good news was that Reed's was happy to do the job. The bad news was that they couldn't get the watch back to me for a week and I was pressed for time. They did, however, recommend another store in the mall who could to the engraving same day. Here's where the trouble began. The engraving place could do the job but only after a jeweler removed a certain link to provide access to the back of the watch. They couldn't do the work themselves because of liability issues. The jeweler at Reed's wasn't at work yet and the other jewelers I spoke with didn't do engraving and weren't able to help. In the end, the staff at Reed's removed the link and put it back in post-engraving free of charge. They were welcoming, warm, and immensely helpful. My wife and I oogled some diamond earrings while we waited and, though we didn't take a super close look at anything, the selection and prices seemed great. Full disclosure: I haven't bought anything at Reed's but when the time comes, I'll absolutely consider it. read more

BEWARE: When Reeds says "Lifetime Guarantee", they really mean "you still have to pay to have a ring repaired or pay for an additional warranty", even if you save the receipt and warranty information for 20+ years. In their mind, there is still an exception even if the warranty states otherwise. Amazing. I really expected more from a company that's been around this long. Very disappointed. read more

My ring was sized incorrectly, and had to be sent back out to get redone. This however is not why I am giving a poor review. I understand mistakes happen.The reason I am ultimately displeased is based on how the store manager Michael Phillips spoke with me today. I have a feeling he speaks this way to everyone including his employees based on what I observed today. He spoke down to me, and made me feel like I did something wrong because as he said I was given a discounted wrong price from the start. I will no longer bring my business to Reeds. I've purchased many pieces of jewelry from this store over the last year and have never had a great experience. They are OK if you're just purchasing but try and return something and they are nasty and rude. I left yesterday in absolute disgust!! The older woman with gray hair has the personality of a door knob and the Assistant Manager couldn't understand how to process a return therefore told me I had to return by mail (I ordered it online so I wouldn't have to go to this location) I called the number on the back of my Reeds card and filed a complaint against this store! I will NEVER buy ANYTHING from the Durham store EVER AGAIN! I've always had much better luck in Raleigh or Cary as they know how to treat their customers! read more

It was first time I went to a REEDS and I was looking for a Christmas gift for my girlfriend. The individual who helped me was very helpful and provided good customer service. She showed me several options and educated me about the protection plan. I purchased a very pretty necklace with a heart pendent on it. Unfortunately, four months later the clasp of the necklace I purchased broke apart. My girlfriend is a passive individual and does not like to cause any issues. I convinced her to take it up there because I purchased the protection plan. She took it back to get it fixed and she received it back 10 days later. A couple weeks later it broke again. She went back up to the store to let them know the clasp broke again. She spoke with the Assist Manger, Jim and he was very rude with her. He was snappy and did not seem to care that the necklace had broken again. I called up there to speak with him and he was very rude with me as well. He tried to make me feel like I did something wrong. Although the necklace was a nice piece of jewelry. The customer service has turned me off from this jeweler. If I am spending of hundreds of dollars or even I was going to spend thousands of dollars, I would wanted to be treated with more respect. read more

This establishment is terrible for customer service. I left my watch with them in mid-November for a new battery. Got it back several weeks later. It stopped. Took it in again and they kept it until mid January. They told me it was done so I went out to the store at the mall and found out it was not ready (it wasn't even in the store). I again waited. Finally picked it up. We shall see if it keeps time this time. Manager was completely unsympathetic to how long I had waited for it. read more
