I hired Raul and his team to level out the ground along one side of my house (over 50 feet) and lay pavers and gravel along that area, around the corner of the house and leading to the back door. I also needed the same effect surrounding a patio slab on the other side of the house. Raul and his team arrived on time and worked quickly, completing the project in just a few days. Afterwards we inspected the work and they made a few fixes tha we noticed. A few days later we noticed some of the pavers were a little wobbly, but Raul took care of it quickly with no questions asked. I would definitely use his services again. read more

I interviewed 4 different landscape contractors for my project and am very glad that I went with Competition Green. They were easy to work with and had a vision for our project to get exactly what we wanted within our price range! 1. Communication and speed was number one for me. I needed someone who was responsive to my texts and calls and worked through all my questions and adjustments. Raul was professional and quick. 2. Honesty and transparency was top notch. I was looking for someone that I could work with easily without feeling like I was being "nickeled and dimed" or downgraded from my desires for the project. 3. Rauls team worked fast and efficiently. I decided on Raul via Yelp reviews. Needed 24" pavers and gravel installed in a 4.25 ft x 40ft space on my patio. The work done previous was done incorrectly - not enough dirt was removed and crushed rock sat high, causing rain water to backflow towards the patio every hard rain or rinsing of the patio due to drainage issues. Liked that this was a smaller company. Also helpful to see that another client posted a pic of exactly what I wanted to accomplish in my space. Raul is a great communicator. He showed up to my estimate appointment on time. His team showed up to my installation appointment on time. I was thrilled that we were off to a good start. Honest, fair, timely and competitive pricing compared to the other 5 companies I interviewed. Didn't overpromise on my small project or come up short on delivering me an expert finish. After removing all of the existing 2" or rock and another 4" of dirt - the team prepped the space for install. In doing the work, the team measures and levels each and every paver. Over the course of the day, when something unexpected came up - the team quickly rounded with Raul on discussing what my preferred solution would be. No assumptions made! His team worked quietly and well together and Raul checked in on-site numerous times over the course of the day to ensure there weren't surprises on either end. Excellent landscape design and build. Raul is incredibly responsive, very creative and gave us the most artistic garden courtyard we've ever had. He's been a great partner from our first phone call. In less than a month, he and his crew tore out the existing soil beds, removed the old plants, leveled the area and installed a beautiful variety of dwarf and drought tolerant plants, a water feature and stepping stones between the pads. He also installed an automatic sprinkler and lighting system. We are very happy with Raul's professional work, his communication skills and his down-to-earth landscape work. We have had Competition Green for about two years now. I was skeptical when he said he could keep our grass golf course green, yet he has done it. Raul is very easy to work with and very responsive. Raul is great! He is knowledgeable and friendly. He shows up when he says he will and does great work with good attention to detail. We hired him to do a general clean up in our yard including trimming hedges, pulling out older plants, relocating a few exisitng plants, removing/replacing rock/gravel, repairing our landscape lighting, installing a french drain, and repairing/inspecting our irrigation. Raul is terrible. We agreed on a contract and price, however, he did not cover the entire yard with weed protector product he just put down the dirt and gravel on the old ground. When I realized his lack of following the contract he tried to say he did so I told him to show me. Of course, there was no sheeting and his answer was to just spray the entire front yard with weed killer. That's not what I contracted for nor what he was to be paid. He also skimped on the new gravel and did not apply the correct color gravel which I had shown him on several properties what I wanted. From my experience he is not ethical and many on my street no longer use him as they too have had problems. read more
