We have a problem. Thermostat was set to 75, temp was reading 78, and climbing. We have out of town guests coming in 4 days. If we can't resolve this we'll have to arrange for a hotel, not to mention living in miserable heat and humidity. Good luck getting an AC repair in 4 days in the heat of summer! I expect this will be a painful and costly process. I was out Monday and not able to call, so now I'm down to 3 days. After looking over reviews, I decide to call AC&H Services. Scott and Chris have nothing but good reviews. They start at 0700 so I'll try to call and see how far out their schedule is. I call at 7:10. Scott asks for my address and says he'll be here this morning. Wow, impressed that he can get me in today, I think he'll come around lunchtime, walk around and give me an estimate and schedule a future day to come back to do the work. Not at all what happens. Doorbell rings at 7:25! 15 minutes after the phone call! It gets better! At the door, not much in the way of introductions, Scott immediately begins asking questions, what happens, what doesn't happen. Looks at the thermostat for a few seconds, then he and Chris head around back to look at the condenser. Quickly they figure out it's a bad contactor. A relatively inexpensive part that they have on hand in the truck. Just a couple of minutes later and the AC is back online, the house is cooling, the invoice is written, and that's that! I'm good to go and they're ready to leave 30 minutes from the time I called! Clearly things worked out for me and the odds of everything working out don't often happen. One of the reasons I called his business, other than the killer reviews, is that he's very local to me and I hoped it would help, and it did. It's a testament to their professionalism and customer service that, not being an AC expert, Scott could have sold me anything at huge markups because I needed it fixed now. That's not how it went, and I can't express how grateful I am. If at all possible, I will absolutely give Scott my future HVAC business and have, in-fact, advised him that when things slow for him in the fall, I'll want him to replace my old AC unit with something more modern. 10/10 recommend AC&H Services!

Fast forward years later, ground hogs had gotten into our crawl space and tore out all the insulation away from our ducts among other damage, several of our rooms were not getting any heat or air. He got us good deals, with discounts to work within our budget. First day he was here he spent 8 hours repairing and replacing everything in the crawl space!!! They did fine on the other areas, but completely broke my stairs' landing light. This light worked perfectly the night before they started. They were specifically paid to update the switch. The moment the technician left, the light was broken.When I called, they immediately denied responsibility and claimed it "might not have been working" before--flat out ignoring that I was there the night before using it. To make matters worse, they had the nerve to quote me an additional $2,800 to fix what their own technician just broke.What followed was a painful 6-week ordeal of poor customer service and constant lies. I spoke to management, who promised their senior technician, Anthony, would look into it. Instead, I was ghosted for weeks. Every time I called, I got the run-around: "we will call you Wednesday," "we will call you tomorrow," "we will call you Monday." No one ever called. I have already contacted my attorney, as this company would clearly rather settle this in court than make a good-faith effort to correct their mistakes.If you use this company, beware: if they break something, you will have zero recourse, and they will nickel-and-dime you to pay for their blunders. Completely unprofessional at every level. As I have not heard back yet again and no good faith effort has been made to make this right. It looks like I'm going to be starting litigation just to get them to reimburse me for the work they failed to complete and the wiring and light they broke.
