Shannon is a wise and sensitive soul…read more My doctor referred me to Shannon to help me better handle life with a chronic medical condition. From our first session, Shannon approached me with kindness and genuine curiosity. During our time together, she guided me into the inner reaches of my body and mind with patience, openness, and compassion. I had never tried hypnotherapy before my sessions with Shannon. In fact, I went in as a skeptic, but I found Shannon's approach to be powerful and grounded in deep truths. More insights were revealed to me in my couple of months with Shannon than I'd uncovered in the combined years of talk therapy that I've done in the past. Forget what you think you know about hypnotherapy, and take the leap. With Shannon, you're in good hands.

This was my first time doing hypnotherapy so I was a bit nervous to start, but Shannon did a great job explaining to me the process of hypnotherapy and listened intently to what I wanted to work on. After doing a series of sessions with her, I have noticed myself feeling less weighed down by the feelings of sadness and frustration that were so constant for me, and instead moving towards happiness and living the life I want to live. I feel happier day-to-day and more resilient on my hard days. Ultimately, working with Shannon has changed my perspective on life and allowed me to connect with parts of myself I was not even aware of. Shannon is the real deal!

Avery Lane gave me to foundation for a healthy life of sobriety. Besides the delicious chef prepared meals, I loved my therapist, the counselors, and the staff. 1 star for the amazing therapist I worked with while I was there, Joy…read more 1 star for the Michelin star worthy chefs who both made superb lunches & dinners throughout my stay, Linda & Sunshine. But star substractions for the rest of the staff who are sorely in need of training in Active Listening and Non-Violent Communication. Another subtraction for the facility, which was infested throughout with mice and every day had multiple appliances that were inoperable including at various points over 2 weeks: the oven, the microwave, the toaster, the ice maker part of the refrigerator, and the external ice maker. And a third star subtraction for the poor communication before arriving about their policies with regard to length of stay and cell phone access. ALERT: This facility expects a 30-day length of stay. I have been in other facilities for 14 days, so that is what I expected. I had only brought enough contact lenses for 14 days and didn't want to be separated from my ESA dog for more than 14 days. But when I left at 14 days, they made me sign an AMA form, because I refused to stay for their preferred 30-day length of stay. I have also been able to keep my cell phone with me 24/7 at the other facilities, but wasn't informed until I arrived that I would have only minimal access to my cell phone. Mondays we weren't even allowed to look at our phones. Other days we were given our cell phones precisely from 1pm to either 3pm or 4pm. I am not addicted to any substances but I do have process addictions. The house I was at was NOT an addiction treatment facility. So if that's what you need, you must be very explicit as you may end up in a mental facility with very poorly trained staff and have absolutely zero awareness of addiction. I relapsed in both of my process 12 step programs while I was there, so this place was the opposite of addiction recovery for me. If you are not an addict and you could benefit from some forced structure that includes minimal access to your phone, then this place might be a better fit for you. Hopefully they will get better control of the mice before you arrive. That said... The dynamic with the phone also leant the staff to carry an attitude of control towards patients, instead of compassion and caring that we needed most. More than once, staff would say "no" to a request and then get mad when patients asked questions, trying to understand the policy and we were told that we just needed to accept no without question. We felt we were treated like children rather than as adults. There were some staff who were stellar, such as Tiffany, but they were rare gems amongst multiple staff who were working out their control issues through their interactions with very vulnerable patients.
