This is something of a follow-up review.....already wrote describing the jewelry being exceptional and ethically sourced.....now I'm writing to say that the service I had to clean and bring up a pair of earrings was Top Notch!! I had attempted to clean my own white gold and silver based design with the classic baking soda and salt mix you can do at home. Wellll.....afterwards, I had a residual amount of that leading the silver to slightly turn color.....and earrings are too small to take a polishing cloth to clean. Took earrings into the shop, and presto!.....all clean and beautiful again. My partner and I were in a bit of a time crunch while traveling for work, looking to use some old family gold to refashion into our wedding bands. We had a mish-mash of items from my grandparents with varying karats and some even unmarked; a couple of rings, broken gold chains, and a moneyclip. Mark was careful to properly test each item for quality and even pointed out to us that some clasps were actually made up of different k than the chain itself. It felt good to have his attention to detail on this because we were able to not melt down all of the items, saving them as keepsakes, and still having gold leftover from the two bands he made us that he credited towards the total cost. Marc even stayed open past closing time for us on a Friday so we could travel back through town and pick the rings up in person. Very happy we found Marc and Reflective Jewelry! I cannot speak more highly of Marc and his team. I contacted Reflective Jewelry with my grandfather's (very) large wedding band in the hope that they could melt it down and turn it into a new wedding band for me. The kicker, I had very specific tastes and needed it in three weeks for when I commissioned in the Texas State Guard. Over several days Marc worked with me to design a ring based on what I imagined and we worked out all the details. After overnighting my donor ring, Marc and his team got to work and were able to make this beautiful custom band for me with hammered detail and 5 mounted diamonds from my grandfather's ring. Their work is impeccable, and it is apparent that they really care about their customers and their product. If you don't believe, simply spend five minutes on their website and the length they go through to educate people about fair trade gold and how what is typically labeled "eco" gold is nothing more than a marketing ploy. I have been a very long time collector/customer from this fabulous jewelry store. It started back when I was married and my husband had sent me a gorgeous bracelet ( 13 years ago ) and the rest is history. The marriage did not make it but my jewelry did! I recently had my eye on a beautiful spessartite garnet bee ring, another one of a kind piece. I became obsessed with the ring and finally decided to purchase it. It takes me a while to sometimes "justify" making these purchases. :-) It's beautiful! I'd never heard of this garnet before and it's brilliant. I love orange so it works perfectly for me. My only (and I mean only) recommendation is perhaps you could ask the customer if they want that oxidation look on their pieces. I'm finding it difficult to clean this ring because of the bezel and I don't want to hurt the stone. I'm not a fan of that black oxidation on sterling. I'm sure I'm one in a 100 but it would be great to have that as an option. I don't know how many pieces I have from you at this point. I do know that I value your professionalism and artistry. Marc Choy kept my gold for 6 months after I cancelled my order with him. He REFUSED to cancel the order he never started! I had to sue him in the Sant Fe NM courts to recoup some of the value of my gold from this storefront thief! He tried to force me to take the poor quality ring he did not know how to design, and when that didn't work he told me to "leave him be". He fought so hard to keep my gold, which he valued at less than $800...less than $800.00! and he deemed low quality! DO NOT make the mistake of doing business with this place, they are NOT master jewelers, and you will see very quickly how they resort to silly tricks to steal from you. Due to this experience I will NEVER support a small business again! it's just not worth it. Things always look good on a website with professional staging, but these pieces look even better when you get them. I own the Interlace cross and the Orkney pendant (and many other items) and I don't think there is a day that I haven't received a compliment on them while wearing them. Reflective Jewelry made a beautiful ring for me using the diamonds from my maternal grandmother's engagement ring. The entire Reflective Jewelry team was so patient with all of my questions--and there were many--and they were able to give me some credit for some old silver, gold and platinum, which made the custom project much more affordable. There was so much give and take in addition to the beautiful craftspersonship that really can't be quantified but which I truly appreciated. I second guessed myself about some of the items I had sent, and they patiently returned those. I was also determined to have the two smaller diamonds from my grandmother's ring as part of the ring. They strongly recommended a setting for the primary diamond that I wasn't quite sure about, and I'm really happy I went with that recommendation (after questioning it). ;) I ended up with a customized 18K gold starry night ring, one of their designs, with my grandmother's three diamonds, an aquamarine to commemorate her birth, and a blue topaz to commemorate my mom and my daughter. The ring has a lovely heft/weight to it and a beautiful balance, and the bezel setting they recommended for the primary diamond complements it so much better than its original setting. I've also purchased a couple of small pendants for friends, which they loved. Finally, they're so flexible with the questions or the project ideas that just didn't work out for me at the time. He advised me on stones to replace a cracked ring I inherited - even going the distance to ask me about the cost of the sapphire I found, and then encouraging me to nab it, because it was a veritable steal. It's not solid gold, you know. It'll fall apart." This was never even brought up at Reflective. Sure they could do it. "Meh" is precisely the word I'd use to describe Reflective. Jewelry is certainly gorgeous, but pricing is pretty obscene and we found customer service to be downright offensive. When my husband had his ring resized, we noticed a pretty visible line where they'd soldered. We brought the piece back in, but man at front desk wouldn't even give it a second look. He just denied there was any problem, and when we suggested we view outside to see in full light, he freaked out. Service was pretty decent when we were looking to throw down some bills, but as soon as a complaint arose, things turned ice cold, and it was clear we were no longer welcome. We're young and were dressed humbly on the day in question....I wondered aloud in the car whether snappier outfits and a few gray hairs would have earned us better treatment.
