When we entered the massage room, the therapist did not want me to stay in the room with my mother, even though there were clearly two seats available inside. At first, they said, "Someone is sitting there," which made no sense because it was only me and my mom in the room. I asked who would be sitting there, and they went quiet before repeating that I couldn't stay. I explained that my mother does not speak English and that I needed to remain there to help translate if necessary. Instead of showing understanding, the situation became awkward and uncomfortable right from the beginning. As a customer, especially when bringing a parent who cannot communicate easily, I expected a little more patience and professionalism. Despite that interaction, my mother did enjoy the massage overall. It was her first professional massage, so she did not have many expectations going in. The therapist did pay attention to the areas she marked on the form and seemed attentive to the pressure and focus points she requested. My mother said she felt relaxed afterward, and I was happy that she at least enjoyed that part of the experience. Unfortunately, the ending completely ruined it for me. After the massage ended, as we were walking out the door, the therapist stood in front of the door and blocked me from exiting to ask for a tip. I understand tipping culture and I normally do tip for good service, but making customers feel pressured or physically stopped before they can leave is extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. It left a very bad final impression on me, especially after the earlier issue about me staying in the room to help my mother communicate. Overall, while the massage itself was decent and my mother enjoyed it, the customer service and handling of the situation made the experience feel uncomfortable and stressful rather than relaxing. For a place that provides services meant to help people unwind, I think they should work on making customers feel respected and at ease from start to finish. We will not be returning. If I remember correctly, this place stayed open to 2:00am in the morning back in the early 2000's. When I worked for Securitas back in the day, I had a number of stops in this area. One one particular night I decided to get a massage during one of my breaks. Arriving after 1:00am, the place was all but dead. One night I tried out this place. I was greeted by Mama-San, who looked tired. Honestly, I think if I hadn't shown up, they might have closed. After paying the cover charge, I was lead to a room. I truly don't remember what the cover charge was, but I paid in cash. The massage was okay, but I am sure the lady was tired. Yes, this was a massage palor and no the lady wasn't wearing high heels to work, but I digress. Now because I had already given my masseuse and Mama-San the cover charge and tip, the masseuse's massage started getting lighter around butt. Yes, I have heard of getting my glutes massaged, but her finger went were the sun doesn't shine. The prostate massage was something,...but (no pun intended) the good feeling went away. The glove she used looked like one she had used before. I am not a hundred percent sure, but the idea stayed with me and that ment the happy end Avril Lavigne was singing about was over too. She asked if I prefer medium or hard pressure, and I also let her know some areas I would like extra attention on. She made sure to focus on those areas and worked quickly for the 30 min massage. At some points she was up on the table straddling my head with her legs, which was weird. She also adjusted my underwear to be lower when she applied lotion to my back and didn't say anything beforehand, so it felt a bit uncomfortable because I didn't know what she was doing. In general it wasn't necessarily a bad experience, but there were some things that shocked me a bit. For the low price, I would still consider returning.
