Poor front desk management. First time there and was super aggressive about payment before even receiving any service.

There is a magic within at a place called the Asian Healing Spa and his name is Tom. Tom is a…read more massage therapist whose literally helped me regain control of my life again where I am no longer totally debilitated by pain. I am being 100% honest when I tell you that as therapeutic healer, Tom is a true gift to this world . A uniquely-gifted practitioner, he has this rare (almost unworldly!) and extraordinary ability to intuitively discern the areas in the body where physical pain exists and HEALS it! I started seeing Tom once a week for a 1-hour massage several months ago upon the sudden onset of debilitating [muscular] pain in my back and my neck. It was destroying my life and my quality of life, and I was helpless to it ; Unable to find relief, l was at its mercy every single day . My sister (who is an acupuncturist) referred me to Tom and encouraged me to schedule an appointment with him. She said "He can help you. You have got to experience a massage with Tom at least once, Emily!," and so that's what a did. Initially, when she told me the business name, my first thought was "is this a legit?!"(feeling a little apprehensive). But she, similarly to Tom, also has "IT" when it comes to the ability to heal and I knew she wouldn't steer me in the wrong direction. And so, with an open mind and a hopeful heart ,off I went for my first massage with him. And she was right. He DID help me, and he continues to help me manage my pain every time i leave from an appointment with him. The part that Tom has played in my healing has been enormous and I give him a LOT of credit for helping me regain control of my life again ; A life where I am no longer controlled by my pain. A massage with Tom IS that "little magic pill" for a PAIN RELIEF (and the "pill" that we always hear doesn't exist!) Only it DOES exist for muscular pain relief and perhaps in one of the most unlikely places you'd expect to find it. I have wanted to write this review for such a long time now,..and I should have done it sooner....I struggled to find the words to verbalize my experience and the huge GAINS I've come away with from weekly appointments with Tom. I've achieved relief so powerful it has literally changed my life and afforded me with QUALITY of life once again. I was a little taken aback and disheartened to see ANY negative reviews posted about this business and I felt defensive for Asian Healing Spa upon first reading some of those comments . But, I realize now,... Not everyone is going to be capable of appreciating the gift that is in this place and it's healers. If you're looking for a run-of-then-mill bougie, ordinarily upscale spa where you will pay a fortune in exchange for minimal therapeutic gain,....and, if you cant hold space in your heart and have an open mind (without preset expectations) of what you think a "massage" or a spa SHOULD BE,...and, if you're going to go in there judging the structure of the massage rooms, the decor and the fixtures,....Then, it is highly unlikely you'll be able to appreciate the magic and the uniqueness this place has to offer us. You go on girl and head to that bougie spa down the road and rob yourself of the chance to experience the miracle. We are SO blessed to have this place (and it's insanely talented practitioners!) available to us locally within an arm's reach. On the contrary, If you are spiritual in nature, you will love this place. If you CAN be open to the unique Asian massage techniques utilized here, for the sake of healing and understand that whichever technique the practitioner utilizes with done so bearing your best interests at heart (walking on your back for deep lactic acid buildup- is AMAZING!) , you are going to fall in love with this place (as I have) and will think you stumbled upon one of the seven wonders of the world.

I took my mother here for a Mother's Day massage. She got the combo package (30-minute body massage…read more+ 30-minute foot massage) for $90, which we paid for upfront. Before the session, they gave us a form where we could choose the pressure level, mark areas to focus on, and note any areas to avoid, which I appreciated because it made the experience feel more personalized. When we entered the massage room, the therapist did not want me to stay in the room with my mother, even though there were clearly two seats available inside. At first, they said, "Someone is sitting there," which made no sense because it was only me and my mom in the room. I asked who would be sitting there, and they went quiet before repeating that I couldn't stay. I explained that my mother does not speak English and that I needed to remain there to help translate if necessary. Instead of showing understanding, the situation became awkward and uncomfortable right from the beginning. As a customer, especially when bringing a parent who cannot communicate easily, I expected a little more patience and professionalism. Despite that interaction, my mother did enjoy the massage overall. It was her first professional massage, so she did not have many expectations going in. The therapist did pay attention to the areas she marked on the form and seemed attentive to the pressure and focus points she requested. My mother said she felt relaxed afterward, and I was happy that she at least enjoyed that part of the experience. Unfortunately, the ending completely ruined it for me. After the massage ended, as we were walking out the door, the therapist stood in front of the door and blocked me from exiting to ask for a tip. I understand tipping culture and I normally do tip for good service, but making customers feel pressured or physically stopped before they can leave is extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. It left a very bad final impression on me, especially after the earlier issue about me staying in the room to help my mother communicate. Overall, while the massage itself was decent and my mother enjoyed it, the customer service and handling of the situation made the experience feel uncomfortable and stressful rather than relaxing. For a place that provides services meant to help people unwind, I think they should work on making customers feel respected and at ease from start to finish. We will not be returning. I would only come here if I spoke Chinese, came alone, and don't mind tipping bad service. ‍

Powerful. Goo. That…read moreis what I felt upon ending my session with Brenda. Okay wait, let's start from the beginning. I'm all about relaxation and what not. I mean, who isn't? I have tried everything from the massage, facials, acupuncture....etc. etc. I have never tried foot reflexology, and honestly, I was slightly skeptical. I'm really weird about folk touching my feet. However, Brenda was HIGHLY recommended from a friend AND she was having a weekend special. Why not try it? Best, I leave uber relaxed, at worst, I wouldn't. Contact is made directly through her website, she responded to me rather quickly to set up my appointment. Services are done either at your home, or at a private location. If she comes to you, there is an additional fee, but after my experience, I understand why it is totally worth it. Brenda is uber trained and knowledgeable about her field. You can tell this by the way that she interacts with you and the absolute delight and pride that she takes in her work. Prior to your session, you discuss any issues that you may have, be it digestive, spiritual, emotional, etc.; your session can be customized to address these things. You saddown in the chair and then POW! That's all she wrote the pencil broke. Have you ever been so relaxed that you knew where you were, but your body/mind may have been someplace else? No? Confused? Exactly. Look, I know that I felt the massage, I heard the music, but my mind was GONE. I was in a complete state of relaxation. The things that I saw and felt emotionally are things that you wouldn't believe, and I wouldn't dare attempt to explain in this forum. But at it's conclusion, I felt at total and complete PEACE, more so than any other modality that I have tried, and folks that says a lot. After the session, you have a consultation to discuss what occurred and any recommendations that she may have. In addition she will follow up with you should you have additional question/concerns. Definitely something you should try, check her website for specials, and be prepared for a treat!

I have been seeing Brenda for about two years for reflexology. She's an expert. Each of my…read moretreatments has been unique and customized to whatever's going on with me emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I suspect Brenda has a strong compulsion to learn new things, as she introduces new treatments and modalities she has studied - not only is this just plain interesting, it also means never a dull moment in treatment. The zero-gravity chair she uses launches me into space and I'm either out or hyperpresent (sometimes even both). As a long-time massage therapist, I'm interested in how the feet are portals to the self. My work with Brenda has deepened my understanding of how they function in this way. I am particularly impressed with how sensitive Brenda is to shifts in energy and mood, and how thoughtful she is in discussing challenges which may seem unrelated to feet but show up through them. So, in short, life without "foot crack" would be depressing and bad! If you have any curiosity about this modality at all, or have ever wondered what it might like to be more relaxed than you've ever been in your life, drop everything and book an appointment.

The office itself is a bit confusing to get to, but thankfully the office texts with specific directions on how to get inside, and there is lots of signage to make sure you end up in the right place. Once inside, I had to wait about 10 minutes past my appointment time to be taken into the back. During this time one of the masseuses walked by carrying her dog, so that was a bit strange and made me question the sanitary conditions of the offices. Once walked back to my room, they told me to undress except for my underwear and lay on the table, then they left. The masseuse was knocking on the door 30 seconds later, so I felt a bit rushed and stressed, but she waited for confirmation to come in. She asked if I prefer medium or hard pressure, and I also let her know some areas I would like extra attention on. She made sure to focus on those areas and worked quickly for the 30 min massage. At some points she was up on the table straddling my head with her legs, which was weird. She also adjusted my underwear to be lower when she applied lotion to my back and didn't say anything beforehand, so it felt a bit uncomfortable because I didn't know what she was doing. In general it wasn't necessarily a bad experience, but there were some things that shocked me a bit. For the low price, I would still consider returning.
