I went to Reformation the other day for their 1 day only 25% off sale (they NEVER have sales so I was really excited to buy some things I had been eyeing) and was extremely disappointed in the customer service at the Melrose location. Immediately upon arrival I was given major attitude from the woman who set up customer's fitting rooms, so I decided to add one item to the fitting room and pick out the rest while inside (via fitting room iPad). I was not informed there was a 45 minute wait for a dressing room, and once I made my way to the fitting room area to wait I was told by another customer that the wait is around 45 mins. I asked the Reformation employee who was in charge of getting people into their rooms how long the wait would be and after asking my name, she told me I was "last on the list". I told her this is impossible as I heard and watched customers set up their fitting rooms after me. She then told me I hadn't "checked in" for my room. I told her I wasn't informed of this checking in policy and had been there multiple times (while there was a wait). She was incredibly rude, not sympathetic in the least, and basically showed me the door when I told her I was leaving as if they had no time for my feedback. I work in retail so I know what even the most basic level of customer service should be. I assure you, you will get better service at a Forever 21, the same quality of clothing, and at a fraction of the price. I will no longer be shopping here! read more

I have been a long time customer of Reformation. They used to be my go-to for last minute outfits. Unfortunately along with their move to the fancy computerized store, their customer service is now basically non-existent. It used to be when they were having an online sale, I could call either the Melrose store or the corporate office and talk to someone about the fit and fabric of an item before ordering since their sale policy is Final Sale. Well, good luck getting anyone on the phone. They have removed the phones from all of their retail stores and no one ever answers the corporate line, it is always the same "sorry we missed you, please leave a message with your order number and email address and we will get back to you as soon as possible". I tried emailing and it took 24 hours to receive a response and it was sorry, we can't help you. Now I am stuck with two dresses that I can not wear and which they could very easily exchange for a size I could wear. They have stock of both sizes on line so it is not as if they have lost out of the sale of the two dresses in my possession. They suck now. Reformation, I'm D O N E with you. read more

Clothes are very nice. They don't keep enough stock on items though. They need to help with sizing better like revolve where they show what size the model is wearing so you can get an idea of what size you may be. Also, you cannot call a store directly to find out if they have something in stock. You have to go through there online number and they will not hold and item for you even for 30 minutes. read more

5'1, bust 32 waist 25-pretty much model size except that I'm short. I ordered the Alby Dress in a size 2 and it was big in the bust area. It fits the model perfectly so I'm confused at to why it didn't fit me when i'm a 32C cup. I also ordered the Henry Dress in a size 2 and the back opened and wasn't laying flat like it appears in the pictures of the model wearing it. About a year ago I purchased a black dress with pockets and the dye colored by bra and skin. I HAVE TRIED to make this brand work because the style and prints are so cute but nothing seems to work. DO NOT EVER BUY ON SALE UNLESS YOU'RE AT THE STORE AND TRIED IT ON-it cannot be returned or exchanged. read more

Don't order online from these people. Their customer service is the worst. Ordered something online, they do not give you the option to select a shipper that requires a signature. FedEx leaves my package on my doorstep in the middle of NYC, and somehow neither FedEx or Reformation is responsible. Ridiculous. Any other store would replace your items, no questions asked. It's rare that I feel strongly enough about something to actually take the time to log into Yelp and write a review - but this is one of those occasions. Saw an attractive super thin (size 0) girl wearing a cute dress and she told me it was from a shop called 'The Reformation'. I am also quite petite (size 0) and it seemed like this place caters to very thin girls and that's just fab for someone like me. I gushed over their website, found 2 dresses I just *had* to have - both at approx $200-300 each. Price not a problem - I was in love. I found Reformation's FB page and clicked over to become a fan, shared links of theirs on my own FB profile page and recommended their cute dresses to my female friends. Unfortunately they didn't have my size left on their website, so I phoned the store to ask if they had mine in stock there. They said yes - come on in. THE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE... Went in on a Sunday afternoon quite ready to part with $600 for a couple of dresses. I was on a high. Wandered around and no-one offers any help for *ages*, which seemed a bit odd. My partner and I browsed for a while, looking for the dresses and looking for assistance. Finally two of the 20 something girls at the counter stopped talking long enough that I could ask for assistance. I was taken aback by their unwillingness to help, lack of knowledge about their own products, and general bored disinterest. Enthusiastically I said that I'd found their 'Manon dress' in the store in white, but really had my heart set on it in red. This assistant (she had straight dark blonde hair and a tattoo on her upper inner right arm) moodily slumped over to her computer, tapped something and said "we don't do it in red. It's black or white'. I said "well, no, you have it in 4 colours, one of them is red..." and I held up my bookmarked page on my iPhone. She rolled her eyes, muttered something moodily under her breath and walked off... I was left feeling a bit confused and disheartened. Was she coming back...? Was she going to check stock in the back??! Nope. She just wandered off. I stood at the counter and waited for ages... then I asked her colleague about it and she said "just go to our website" and I said "they were out... is there any chance you'd be getting more in this store?" Like a moody teenager, she said "no." Finally the first assistant came back - she really was the worst. Still thinking that maybe it was me, and maybe she wanted to help and I'd misunderstood her, I approached her again with a smile and a desire to spend money. I asked her if she could check to see if they had the other dress - the "Cabot dress" and she said "no - if you don't see it here, it's not here" in a sarcastic rude way that blew me away! Patiently I asked if they had anything similar and at that time my partner called me over - he'd found a similar dress, in XS for me to try on, so I went and put it on. Length was fine (even though I am petite, at 5'2") but the straps were so long that it would certainly need to be adjusted or my entire bra would show, and the waist was so large, it kinda hung on me like a curtain. Changed out of it and went back to that first moody assistant with the upper inner arm tattoo. I said "could you check if the NY stores might have the 'Cabot dress' I'm after...? Perhaps I could pay you for it now and maybe it could be shipped here... or to my address? Is that a service you offer perhaps?" She sneered at me and gave me a response that literally upset me for the rest of the day. "Look, we don't have it. Anyway, our dresses are designed for models... they're for 5'10" girls, okay?! Like models. They're not going to fit you anyway". I walked out without even responding. I was mostly in shock. CONCLUSION... In my entire 33 years of life I have never ever once felt insecure about my petite figure. I have never once been remotely bothered at not being tall. I've always been confident and happy in my skin. Her nasty attitude and the way she said it threw me for a loop. It stung and left me feeling deflated for ages afterwards, and couldn't even understand why. I went home and found Reformation on yelp and saw so many 1 star reviews citing the staff as the reason they felt the need to write a negative review. One girl even wrote "the sales associate was so mean. She gave me this attitude that I'm not skinny enough to try extra small:" Felt so much better. It wasn't just me then. Like others I bounced in there with a big smile and money to spend. I left empty handed and unhappy / offended. NEVER going there again. read more

I have never actually taken the time to write a review, but I was so appalled and shaken up by my last experience here, I have to speak up. A sales girl (well she looks pretty old, so sales woman) named Carrie was hands down the rudest, snidest, most condescending person I've met in a long time. She gave me dirty looks to start, told me I wasn't the right fit for most of the clothes in the store, and at one point got on the phone and BASHED the owners of the store. I couldn't believe what she was saying out loud. She made me feel so bad about myself while shopping, so uncomfortable, and I left feeling her disgusting energy to the point that I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I recommend no one else does either. I really wanted to have a good shopping experience here but if was just not possible. I went in there looking for something specific and after walking up to the counter to greet the only other person in the store and tell her so, she dismissively told me to have a look around??? Hmmmm. I then told her that I had seen several dresses on their website that were not in the store. Yes, that's correct, we only carry a limited amount of our collection. OK, I really like this dress, but you only have it in an xs, oh, we have other sizes in the back, great. I could go on and on, but when the other sales associate came out she was even more rude. As hard as I tried to find clothes for my daughter and I, these girls were interested in their own social life. Some delivery guy came in and got a huge warm welcome and an animated conversation, while the paying customers were left to their own means. the quality of clothes here is horrible. I've bought dresses for eight dollars that were prettier and have been in pristine condition for years. Whereas here, I didn't even wear the $200 dollar dress and it started fraying. The sewing is terrible, the stitching is falling apart and all I did was hang it up in my closet. It looked like a perfectly fine dress in the store and then I brought it home for a week and just let it hang and it's falling apart. It's really disappointing because it was such a cute dress and I spent so much money on it for something that now I can never wear. Never buy clothes from here unless you just want to look at them. Even then they might just fall apart in front of your eyes. read more

Don't believe the 3 rating stars, they have negative customer experiences posted on here removed. I bought a skirt in a size THEY recommended I get after I reached out to them prior to purchase just to make sure, trustingly I was not in rush to pick it up and unknowingly passed the return date. I contacted support after noticing the size was completely off when I picked it up and was told there was absolutely nothing they could do and that their return policy was 3 weeks. Seeing as we are still in spring, the skirt had just been restocked, and I was told that was the size I needed I checked to see if they could do an exchange. As there's nothing sustainable about a $150 skirt (CND) in the trash. Sadly they weren't willing to do anything about it, I would have been more understanding had those 3 factors not come to play and I can only come to the conclusion that the eco stance is nothing but a p.r. move on reformations side at this point. read more

I've been here twice --first time looked around a bit and left bc wait was an hour long, and second time tried on and purchased 3 things (love!). It's a different experience for sure. I won't repeat what others have described but you essentially choose things onscreen in the store (much like shopping online at home) and if available, the sales associate will bring all to a room and you wait your turn (10 things max to start). I can see why wait time estimate could be off bc I don't think they kick anyone out of the dressing room for taking "too" long. I'm guessing average 20 min per person. 8 rooms? It's not a big deal once you know what to expect. Come early and there won't be a line or just a short wait. The salesgirls are perfectly nice. I'm not expecting to be waited on hands and knees and it's a perfectly lovely experience. Return and exchange policies are kinda strict -so read and ask and you'll be fine. Really don't know why so many complaints. Just know what to expect. It's a super popular place so yes you will likely wait. read more

Came in a couple days ago and was truly in shock in how high tech the store was. All of the clothes were organized to perfection and it was easy to find what I was looking for. This was my first time here and racine, who seemed to be the manager, took great care of me and I knew I was in good hands with her! The dressing room was the best part and the fact I didnt have to leave to try on other pieces was amazing. Shopping was not a drag shopping at reformation. I love this brand. I only shop with them online and this was my first time visiting the store. The store is on Melrose down from Paul Smith. The interior is pretty cool. There is a motorcycle near the entrance and couches in the middle, with neon signs, plants, and mirrors scattered throughout. The store is bright and welcoming, which makes for an easy shopping experience. The clothes are well-made and cute. They have some vintage leather accessories, like saddle bags and belts. They also have some jewelry. There were a lot of dresses but I don't think they carry all the clothes that are featured online. I wear an xs and my size was gone in most of the styles. Most of the items run between $100-$500. Overall it was a pleasant experience but I am not sure I would come back unless I was in the area. read more

Buyer beware. Worst in-store return policy ever. If you purchase online you can get a full refund. But if you purchase in store you can only get store credit. I bought something yesterday and returned it less than 24 hours later and could not get my money back. This goes against all buyers remorse laws. Even cars can be returned within 72 hours!!! read more

i love shopping here because i know that 90% of the stuff i get here, i won't see anyone else wearing. they take vintage clothing and rework the pieces, so it really appeals to the treehugger that i am. the stuff is really cute! there's some simpler stuff that i like to wear since i dress pretty plainly normally, and they also offer really cute pieces that you could wear to work as well as stuff that is good for going out. i've gotten a couple of really cute dresses there to wear to weddings and i always get compliments. they also have a lot of vintage denim. i like going with my friends b/c the dressing rooms are really comfy and spacious...big enough for us to share so we can check each other's outfits out. they'll do alterations for you as well, so you can be sure what you buy will be a perfect fit on you. i don't usually review retail stores, but i really dig this store and highly recommend it! if you're shopping with your boyfriend, send him down the block to undefeated so you can shop at your leisure :). read more

I never, ever review things on Yelp because I don't care and I don't have the time, but I would give this place zero stars if I could. I literally just had the worst, most absurd shopping experience of my life. Reformation is not the Apple Store, nor will it ever be (and why would they want to be?) Not to mention who LIKES going to the Genius Bar? It's a CHORE and entirely unpleasant. I have been shopping at Ref for a really long time so I was very disappointed to step into the new store and see all the dumb changes that have been made. I wanted to try on a dress, in my size, and they wouldn't let me because you're not allowed to try on the dresses on the floor. The dress was also being tried on by another customer so they told me I can try to "come back and try it on *if* she doesn't buy it." The dress I wanted, in my size, was right there, and they wouldn't let me try it or purchase it. The whole setup makes no sense and it was just irritating to go there and be met by a team of way too many girls in matching outfits with their iPhones checking inventory. Totally impersonal and tech-y which is exactly what this world needs less of. I just wanted to try on a dress, not fix my computer. No thanks to this stupid new system and no thanks to you, Reformation. read more

One star because of the concept - clothes made with environmentally friendly and humane practices. No more stars because of the lack of compassionate customer service and price, ie. failure to extend basic consideration to their customers who are paying buttloads of cash for very basic designs. As a previous reviewer had stated (and I wish I had read reviews before purchasing), if you buy something on sale, you are STUCK WITH IT FOR LIFE. Despite multiple pleads for them to take back a velvet jacket I had been swooning over for months and ordered online that showed up looking nothing like the color I saw in the photos (baby diarrhea brown instead of a lovely army green, GROSS), and even offering to pay return shipping, pay a restocking fee, get store credit instead of a refund, etc., I was met with superficially nice responses but no real action to rectify the situation or any attempts to retain a first-time customer. They sell out of $400 dresses all the time, but can't send me back $168? I would have happily shopped for something else from them and my dream of owning a Reformation piece was shattered by the fact that they only care about taking my money and not my satisfaction with my purchase. Was it my fault that I purchased something on sale? Sure, but I wasn't paying that much attention to the final sale warnings. However, I've never experienced such strict enforcement of a return policy, which is a shame because the prices are investment-level for their pieces. Reformation doesn't care about me or the cash I saved up for months just to buy something I ended up hating. I loved the idea of shopping with Reformation, but due to the reality of it, I will NEVER buy anything from them again. read more
