My partner and I enjoyed a matinee of A Quiet Place: Part 2 here. There's not a lot to say about a movie theater during a pandemic, honestly... limited staff and concession options are to be expected, but everyone was very friendly and the soda was appropriately balanced/mixed (we all know what it's like to get a beverage that has too much or not enough syrup). The auditoriums were comfortable with the recliner seats and the other patrons were quiet and respectful. One thing I will say: Regal recently updated their mask policy to relax it for vaccinated patrons and strongly suggest it for non-vaccinated patrons, I believe. I have no issues wearing masks (especially when watching a movie - it doesn't get much easier than that), but it was nice to be relaxed and remove it once people got settled and the movie began. I do hope that theaters continue soft seat-blocking with reserved seating for awhile so you don't have immediate neighbors unless the theatre fills up. It'll probably help people ease back into life after lockdown. read more

The movie started after 20 minutes of obnoxiously loud previews and when I went to ask staff if it could be turned down, they agreed to after the moved stared. , I think they did for a short while but then 1/2 way through they turned it up again. I had to put tissues in my ears and my friend put her ear against the seat to tone down the loudness. The staff there acted like it was out of their control. We saw Toy Story 5 and although it was a good movie, it was not a great experience with ridiculously loud volumes. I have been to movies all my life and the volume was quite messed up. read more

And it's an Easy to get your tickets and then get your snacks or what have you and then to your seat and sit down. They always make sure that theaters are clean for the next movie. Allowed to pay cash and by tickets at front desk. Staff very pleasant. Did not have to go to concession stand to by our ticket. The other Regal had no one at front desk. Waited 20 -30 minutes while people waited for snacks so we could buy them. Butler plaza was a much better experience. Also the bathroom was clean, the seating comfortable. This theatre did not Defy Gravity. Went to see Wicked here since the theatre in Celebration Pointe was sold out! The staff were all so kind and pleasant. The movie was amazing! A must see! But the actual theatre was outdated and dirty, especially the bathrooms. The theatre seats were recliners and were very comfortable. The popcorn was amazing! I usually see movies at the Regal theater at Celebration Pointe. When compared to the Celebration Pointe Regal, the Regal Butler Town Center is older, smaller, and cheaper. I found the ticket price of a late afternoon weekday movie to be about $2 cheaper at Butler. That being said, the seats are older and it felt like the movie screens were smaller. I sat farther back in the theater (because I was used to the large screens at Celebration Pointe) and I subsequently felt very distant from the screen at Butler. Overall, while I enjoyed the movie and the convenience of the Butler location, to me it was not worth it and I think I will stick with the Celebration Pointe Regal in the future. read more

I love going to the movies. I love reclining seats. Regal Butler doesn't have the same flash as Celebration Pointe but their customer service far outranks Regal Celebration Pointe. I love that this theater gets all the rereleases of movies I grew up watching or the extended versions of movies recently released. We've seen Halloween, Nightmare in Elm Street and now Ghostbusters. It's just a lot of fun seeing these movies back in the big screen. We watched the director's cut of Midsommar in the theater by ourselves. It was fantastic! So between the much better customer service and getting all the rereleases, I really enjoy coming to Butler Regal. read more

Lately I've been going to the Regal Cinemas at Celebration Pointe but I was reminded recently that Regal at Butler Town Center is just as good. It might not be as glamorous looking, but it's still a fantastic place to see a movie. Recently, I went here to see the movie "Just Mercy" because it wasn't showing anywhere else. I went in to watch the movie and I just so happened to experience most people's movie nightmare.... someone who talks loudly during the movie. This went on for a little while, but once they learned of the issue the movie theatre security was quickly on the scene and handled it. Everyone in the theatre greatly appreciated their speedy action. Additionally, the screens are clear and the sound is the perfect volume. Overall, great place to see a movie. Would highly recommend. Oh yeah I almost forgot the best part... they have reclining seats! read more

Recently I went here to see two Disney movies I been waiting to see. I was really impressed with the staff. I had purchased gift cards to pay for the movies and was unable to get them to work. Customer service stepped in and in a matter of minutes I had tickets. After getting tickets it was time for popcorn. the concession stand staff was awesome and my popcorn was really good so fresh. My one complaint Paper STraws enough sais. Finally, it was movie time. Oh, my word the ability to recline to watch a movie was divine. I love being able to sit back and relax while enjoying my favorite Disney movie on the big screen. Overall this theater is on point. But then I am a Regal cinema girl at heart. Note: What is with all the establishments in Gainesville going to paper straws they really suck(pun intended) when drinking. read more

The lobby looks cleaner and more inviting, they offer self service kiosks to buy tickets vs. Waiting in line, the cost per ticket has not increased and the RECLINERS!!! Although the outside of this movie theater looks outdated, the inside is surprisingly nice. Since this theater is the most central, I've been here a few times and never experienced any issues. The employees at the box office have always been friendly and glad to answer any questions. Upon walking in, sometimes there will be an employee to collect your ticket stub, or you just walk in by yourself. I didn't need help finding my room, so I didn't mind the lack of employees. Since this location has been renovated, I think all of the rooms have reclined, leather seats. The seats are wide enough to lounge in comfortably, and the reclining features are activated through one-touch technology. The seats and theater rooms have always been clean too. I can't speak much for the concessions and other amenities offered. However, you do get deals with Regal Crown Club, like half off popcorn on Tuesdays. I also recommend bringing a blanket/jacket for maximum comfort, because it tends to get a little cold! read more

What can I say? I have more than been enjoying the Miyazaki film series. Simply amazing to be able to see these films on the big screen. I also LOVE that Regal has chosen to play some other classic films every year. I already have tickets for the Princess Bride, Little Shop of Horrors the musical, Guess Who's coming to dinner, and Casablanca. And I have also missed some really great films as well: Some Like it Hot and Star Trek: Wrath of Khan. My favorite film last year was Prince's Purple Rain. Now they just need to play David Bowie's Labyrinth and my life will be complete. LOL! I also LOVE that you can pick your seats in advance and the updated recliner seats are awesome! SO MUCH ROOM! That really makes things easier and worth the price of going to the theater. I was also very pleased with how management handled the Miyazaki series pass when it was not working when it first started. This is going to sound so lame, but I also love that they serve samosas! I have not actually bought them yet, but I plan to. I also have a lot of nostalgia for the lobby of this place, I love the neon lights above the counter. read more

My review of Gainesville's Regal 14 is sadly overdue, given that we seriously appreciate their makeover: cushy recliner seats, lots of elbow room, quality sound system - yay! We consistently find the staff here to be friendly and knowledgeable, willing even when they are busy to go an extra step or two to accommodate your needs. Their snack bar (yes, I know, like all commercial theaters, the prices are waaaay out of line) has some interesting options like Indian snacks and a pizza that's pretty good all things considering. I am among the many who appreciate the HD films this theater runs, particularly the live broadcasts of operas from the Met - I know, not everyone's cup of tea, but for those of us who love it, this is a real a plus! A heads up: Temperature in the theaters sometimes runs cool, so I recommend bringing a sweater and socks if your body needs a little cozy boost. read more

This location is fairly small and a bit outdated. Parking, like for many theatres, is horrible. It's especially applicable here since the lot is rather small and located near Wal Mart. The lobby and actual theatres feel a bit cramped even. The seats in the theatres are cloth based and some do not lean back. The price is fair. Concessions are pretty expensive with a medium sized popcorn being almost 7$ and a student ticket being around 10$. Popcorn seasoning (not salt and butter but the extra flavors) cost extra where in most movie locations are usually free. Some of the things I DO like about this place (which can be either pros or cons depending on yourself) is that the employees are really lenient. To get a student discount you can simply seem "student aged" and arrive with at least one person who has a student ID. Even though there is a sign at ticket check, they do not search bags. I walked in with a big black purse of gummy worms and was not checked for it at all. For the theatres here that I've been in, I still get cell service which is great while waiting for the movie to start. Overall this place needs a good revamp but it's a nice location to enjoy a movie every now and then with no big issues. read more

Very disappointed in the extremely poor customer service this evening by Tiffany of Customer Service. Our first date night without the kids and we experienced blunder after blunder. Purchasing tickets and snacks took forever although there were only 2 customers in line. At 8:13PM we were finally able to request to purchase tickets for a 7:50PM show. Staff struggled to complete a cash payment transaction. Trying to be patient as staff again struggled to count the change returned to us was difficult to watch. Nevertheless we recieved our tickets and were pointed to theater #9. After sitting down for less than 15 minutes the credits were running across the screen, we were directed to and sold tickets to the wrong showing (6:40PM show that ended at ~8:30PM). In attempting to explain this to staff we were refused a cash refund because providing the receipt with the purchase time, tickets sold and type of tender wasn't enough, we needed to provide both ticket stubs. After going back to the theater room and locating one of the stubs (we had the other) we returned and made complaint about the process. Staff member Tiffany became increasingly dismissive as we voiced the number of hiccups that occurred, the long process of staff to correct the issue and overall the poor service and lack of concern by Customer Service. Tiffany repeatedly stated that she really shouldn't work at the theater and deal with complaining customers, she began taunting us and moments later she stated that she was going to have a nervous breakdown, grasping her head and face and repeatedly making the same comment... Another staff member, though seemingly untrained, stepped in for Tiffany who continued having what appeared to be a tantrum and yelling that she shouldn't work at the theater amongst other comments about her job, but this staff member needed to completely start the already long, escalated conversation over again regarding the refund. The staff that sold us the incorrect tickets appeared sympathetic, while Customer Service staff Tiffany and another young lady, seemed to be offended that we requested a refund because of the blunder. Not a single apology with what was supposed to be the kick off of a new date night ritual once a month. As we finally received a refund, staff member Tiffany stopped ranting about her mental health crisis and began filming us with what appeared to be her personal cell phone without our consent. This was an extremely uncomfortable situation as I was fearful of the sporadic behavior she was displaying and of her mental health. The two female staff members in customer service were difficult. Upon exiting there was a kind young staff member who attempted to help deescalate, which we were appreciatively of. Overall what was supposed to be an easy date night turned into just an emotionally draining experience. I was very fearful of Tiffany and her growing lack of ability to control herself. Just makes me emotionally overwhelmed to think of being discarded, berated and dismissed by staff. read more

This location is just OK. Took my daughter here to see the Hunger Games this last weekend. First thing she asked me was "what theater is the movie playing at?" when I said this theater she said 'Bummer". We all know in Gainesville this is our oldest movie theater. They haven't done anything in years to upgrade or renovate this place. Yes it does have stadium seating. But the theaters are small in comparison to the competition these days. All our theaters in Gainesville are owned by the same company, they know they have trapped business, one nicer theater in town (newberry road location) and one not so nice (archer road location). So we're left with just average movie theaters in Gainesville. read more

Both theaters in Gainesville are a parking nightmare depending on the time and day that you choose to attend. I do dates as more of a dinner and clubbing and leave the movies for matinee times. So I have not had a parking nightmare here in a really long time. They do not have the unlimited butter machines here like they do at Royal Park. I always get the kids pack with comes with popcorn, drink of choice, and candy for $5.75 with tax. It is worth it, because who can really eat that much popcorn anyways? It seems like these theaters work together where the same movie is never playing at both theaters at once, so you sometimes don't have a choice of one or the other if you really want to see a specific movie. Both of the big theaters in Gainesville are Regal theaters, so don't forget to use your Regal Club card with all purchases. I land free movie tickets, free popcorn and drinks here about every third time we go out. So it is totally worth it. You can use your student ID here, even if that ID expired over 10 years ago. Regal Butler Town Center 14 is a great movie theater located here in Gainesville. This theater is so nice and the seats even recline! I could have easily fell asleep in the seats, but wanted to view the movie. I am a Movie Pass Holder and for $10 a month I can go and buy a movie ticket each and everyday. This is an amazing deal and even if I only go see 1 movie a month it pays for itself. The great thing to is that you can use Movie Pass at this theater!!! The biggest thing, but it is at all movie theaters is the fact that the concessions are so expensive. I understand this is where they make the majority of the money for the theater but a bag of popcorn should not be more than $4. But here you get a small popcorn and it's almost $8?!? But again you are paying more for the concessions because that is where the theater makes the majority of their money. No matter too when you go to this theater its always packed. They have a huge parking lot though and you can park in front, around the side, or in back. Just know your car is safe. I highly recommend this theater. The seats make the movie going experience so much more fun! Its so nice to lay down and enjoy a great movie on the big screen!!! read more

Alexandria the deputy assistant manager is a joke. She came into our movie and proceeded to chew 6 grown adults for entering a movie while the previous credits were rolling. The ticket lady scanned our tickets and told us which room to go to. When we got to the door it said now seating for the movie we purchased. No one told us not to enter the theater until the credits were done. Her employees failed in preventing that and she tried to deflect blame to us for them. Someone demanded their money back because people entered the theater while the credits were playing. Seriously.... read more

This is my first time coming back since the theater was renovated, and it was awesome. The concession area is very clean and the staff extremely friendly. The reclining seats were so comfortable and the movie screen was huge. We were able to order our tickets and choose our seats ahead of time, which expedited our process at the ticket counter. This went from the worst theatre in town to the best after renovations. It has plush reclining chairs and reserved seating. It's great for a planned date but not for spontaneity (the best seats are always taken). There are also more concession options than popcorn and candy. Standard Regal experience for the most part, but the location seems old and there was some construction going on (I think this location may even be relocating to new building). The seats were very comfy and I was falling asleep while reclining in them. No problems with the screen , temperature, or audio. My only big complaint is there are no seats in lobby other than benches that are tucked under displays so you have to see awkwardly and your back still hits the displays and gets hot. Not many people here when I went to an evening showing so probably not have to worry about overcrowding. read more

This place is friggin awesome!!!!! Came to see "Salmon Fishing On The Yemen" last week. Only a short wait and great prices for senior-citizens. Chili dogs are always buy 2 get one free and no crappy limits on popcorn butter squirts... Once in the theatre, the seats were soft, cushy, and only a little moist. Someone had evidently been eating peanuts.. but other than that the undersized armrests were only a minor setback, and the person next to me seemed friendly enough. Movie was terrible. read more

This movie theater is one of the closest to where I live, so I would say it's more convenient than anything else. As for the place itself, it is located behind Butler Plaza (behind the Walmart), so it's not the most appealing sight - it looks pretty old. There is a decent sized parking lot, but it usually gets crowded around the evening time and weekends. The size of each room in the movie theaters is not too large, but whenever I see a movie it is usually not crowded (unless it's a movie premiere or a newly released movie in which you have to come early before it becomes sold out). In Gainesville, the big movies that come out take turns between movie theaters - sometimes this movie theater has the hottest movie out and other times it is at the theater on Newberry. Definitely double check where the movie you want to see is playing, to make sure that you don't waste your time! My boyfriend and I love to go see movies, so we signed up for a Regal Rewards card - it's free! If you like to frequent Regal theaters and you buy food every time (we always get popcorn and a Coke Icee), then definitely get the rewards card because you can get points every time, which will then add up to either free snacks or a movie ticket! If you're a butter-lover like I am, then you would LOVE to know that if you ask the person at the snack counter to put butter every thirds of the popcorn, they will do that for you! It's so bad, yet sooo good!! There are not too many movie theaters surrounding campus, so this is the place to go if you're looking to watch a movie in Gainesville. read more

I'm done with that. The bigger issue was the guy who walked into our theater with a big backpack on. They didn't search my wife's big purse so my guess is they didn't bother to look in his either. Ummmm...BAG CHECKS? Goodbye privacy rights! And the list of negative experiences during our trip only continues... To start with, the movie we intended to see was listed to be playing at 7:30 on Google. When we got to the theater, this showing had been cancelled. My friends had driven from Ocala to see it. Once inside, I saw how smelly and run down the theater was. I stood in line for a small popcorn and small drink, where the pushy cashier kept trying to upsell my order to a larger size. Theater snack prices are already outrageous, as we all know. I'd rather not be pushed to pay even more. Here comes the worst part. Thanks to the recent CO theater tragedy, Regal 14 believes it has the right to require a BAG CHECK of its patrons before entering the theater. Some will argue the safety benefits, etc. Personally, I feel like this is just opening the door to more infringements of our rights to privacy and freedom. Its not a freaking airport! You can't up and decide to go through personal property based on isolated incidents around the country! I'm sure all theaters are on the same path, but if theaters start, what next?? Where do we draw the line? Last of all, the movie we settled for was in theater 10. The movie's sound was overpowered for practically the entire movie by a whirring, loud a/c unit. ANNOYING! I wont return to this theater and encourage others to stand up for their right to privacy and boycott this theater as well. Not sure how long it had been since the first reviewer had been to a movie theater, by concession prices are standard, and previews are based on what you're watching. The new recliners are five stars. There was one line open to get movie tickets or in our case to validate our gift cards which was unacceptable and -3 stars. The pick a seat feature needs fine tuning. The questions and answers sessions are fine but with one attendant (Ben Stein) to accommodate the Qs/As, tickets, Regal Awards or the forgotten award cards, "give me your phone number to look it up for you" or "There are no seats together for the 650 or 720 showing" shpeils, and the $3 surge charge on our Regal gift cards for the reclining seats. Have been to this theater many,many times (as it is 1 of 2 in Gainesville) and it is consistently a mediocre experience. All the theaters have stadium seating, but you could end up sweating to death in certain theaters whose a/c is broken (this has happened to my bf and I at least 3 different times). Oh my goodness!!! I went to this theatre this past weekend, and I was pleasantly surprised! The lobby is still small and could use a make over, but guess what... they have huge comfy recliners now! This was the best movie experience ever! The recliners are so comfy and are huge! You can lay back and watch the movie - wow! It was awesome! I will definitely go to this theatre from now on. The only downside is that there is much lower capacity in the theatre because of the new seating, so you have to reserve your seats - I would suggest stopping by ahead of time or doing it online so you can get could seats. We sat in the third row, and because of the recliners it was fine! My neck didn't hurt at all! I would highly recommend checking this place out! read more

This cinema turn to CINEMA. Super comfort and clean. We watch movies a lot and now we wanna go even more. It was just right step to do it remodel this Cinema in right time. Only 2 things bother me. The lines if u wanna get popcorn and the red EXIT sigh right by screen. U have corner of screen super red and it little bother. They should do something different how to show exit doors and without damage the projection on screen. read more

Just watched Kung Fu Panda 3. Movie was great, but theatre 3 was so-so. The screen had 3 MASSIVE marks in the middle which kept on grabbing my attention. VERY noticeable. Also seats are uncomfortable. read more
