Chairs are a little uncomfortable as a tall person. Legroom is somewhat limited. I could barely cross my legs but I've been spoiled by reclining seats in other theaters. Popcorn is pretty good! Paying for parking is easy via your phone. Scan the QR code with your camera and click on the link that appears in the camera screen and finish using your browser or download the app. Theater 12 was nice and big. Regal City North is a fun, albeit throwback, movie experience. As someone who grew up in an IMAX desert, I am positively giddy to have one so close to me now. The popcorn is always good. Somehow 2 candy, large popcorn and large drink is around $35 which doesn't feel quite as awful as spending that much on 2 cocktails so.... It's not that bad imo. Usually always pretty clean inside. The western bus is great and reliable for transit. Wish it were coke instead of Pepsi but alas it can't always be my way. read more

I truly enjoy the regal city North theater because they do have IMAX and 4D movies and a good variety of snacks but it is not the cleanest theater. I will have to agree with previous reviewers that not only is the theater itself isn't the cleanest, the bathroom is not the best and the customer service is kind of lackluster. It's a lot of young people working at night and so customer service is affected. Admittedly the IMAX theater I was in, was actually with a few seats that were not cleaned but other than that it was a good showing. You have to get there early if you're going to a Premier or trying to get any free merch. But all in all, I'll be back for any IMAX and/or 4D movies. read more

This location seems very apocalyptic. It's clear that streaming has taken over. This location looks like it's stuck in 1992. There are minimal offerings for concessions, you pay for parking and this is NOT the location with the bar. However I came for the IMAX 4DX which is exciting with the special effects but without the appropriate screen - the experience as a whole was subpar. I would give this location one star. BUT the staff was friendly and the theater and bathrooms were clean and that definitely counts for something ! read more

Movies start quite literally 30 minutes late. After being shown straight up TV commercials. Then the trailers start. Sucks to be paying for ads at every turn. I recently saw Wicked here! While Wicked was amazing, this theater was just ok. It's very outdated, but without the charm that old school movie theaters have. It's a little dirty and grimy on the inside. The pros are that there's attached parking (great for during the winter), touch screen soda machines, and the theaters are huge with lots of seating! The popcorn was pretty good too. The staff was pretty unhelpful, but I do realize it's mostly teenagers working so I don't expect too much. They were out of a few menu items, and multiple sodas were flat. Seems like this just needed a little more staff to get things in order again! read more

Okay, I have a few observations about this movie theatre so let's break this down. Know that there is no validated parking in the garage and you have to pay for parking, which already sets the tone. The movie ticket process is fast and you do pick your seats ahead of time, but I definitely expected those bougie reclining seats... and got regular ones (not ideal). Tickets are criminally expensive--even the matinee--and the concession prices are insane. Like, who is paying $8-9 for a water bottle?? I have not been to this movie theater in years and had a nice experience at this movie location on a week night. Parking lot is lighted and located close to movie theater. Pay to park via spot hero or the QR code is right in the parking lot so one can pay right there. Huge lobby area in front of cashier location. Concession area staff was friendly. There was a gaming location that looked fairly new. I did see security in the hallways (no problems on that night). Comfortable seats, clean bathrooms and party room for all ages. I used to go to movies all the time and have looked forward to attending movies in the theater. I had a very nice experience and will return. read more

Big cinema with a variety of formats to choose from. This cinema has the only 4DX in the city of Chicago - and in the surrounding area. It's well maintained, and really fun, though tamer than some other 4DX's from what I understand. Definitely recommend trying that experience out. They also have screen x, imax, imax 3D... lots of great options. The popcorn and soda are outrageously overpriced - over eight dollars for a soda! Ridiculous. But whatever. The place is clean. Ample bathrooms . There's a game area too for more fun before or after your movie. Lots of parking outside the place ( a huge parking garage attached to it). read more

We came here on a Saturday around 1pm to watch The Boy and The Heron. I had never been to this theater before! We arrived and parked in the garage - $4. Make sure you pay BEFORE your movie!! Lots of horror stories on parking in the garage. The bathrooms were nice enough and there were plenty of stalls - it wasn't crowded when I went. The theater itself was okay. The seats are old and need some updates - my husband wasn't very comfortable during the movie because of the seats. We came, went to the movie, and left so our time spent here wasn't long. Overall I like the other movie theaters by us better, so I probably won't be back unless they're playing something that has already left the ones closer to us. read more

I love this location because I always find street parking, it is close to some great restaurants, so I can get a really good meal and not deal with the concession stands. And now they have that 4DX experience????? Crazy good but I am a rollercoaster girl, so I love being tossed around and feeling like I am in the movie. The experience reminded me of the flying ride at Disney Orlando where we were elevated in the air and our seats were moving to simulate us flying over landscapes...I did that four time :-) I will say that this experience is not for everyone because it is interactive. If you just want to watch a movie, don't do the 4DX experience. Depending on what movie you are watching, I would not recommend getting drinks or things that can fly or spill. read more

The movie theater itself is adequate. I gave it another chance after not going for a long time. However the parking situation is still terrible and has not gotten better from before. Now they at least have signs up informing people how to pay for parking. However there are TWO DiFFERENT PRICES depending on how you pay. One is a cheaper $4 if you pay at the kiosk inside the theater or the ABM sign link. But if you unfortunately pay through the SpotHero app on other signs it costs $11. So yeah this parking situation remains shady as hell. I hate this place for their parking practices. read more

She wanted to watch Black Phone 2, but the incompetent workers wasted her time and rebounded her between the useless managers. They made her pay MORE money to watch a different movie. Get there early. There was a literal 30 minute line for concessions. You'd think that with $10 for a small popcorn, $8 for a small bottle of water that they'd be able to afford a few more minimum wage high schoolers. Concessions were limited. Very little candy, no adult beverages, no tenders or pizza like a lot of other establishments. Butter is behind the counter, so you can't control that, or salt. Seating is barely wider than CTA seats. I sat next to someone who clearly made a habit of getting the large popcorn, and even tucking my arms in and moving as close to the other seat as I could, her arm was pushing against me. Not a pleasant way to spend 2h. Parking is not free here, and seems to have been sold or contracted to another company. Do a web search, and you'll find numerous people who were charged ~$200 for getting it wrong, so do not make a mistake when providing your personal information and credit card to these vultures, and be sure to do so before the film. All in, it was about $65 for two tickets, a small popcorn, small water, parking, a long line for crappy food, and a cramped seat. This place has gone from bad to worse. read more

I am a Regal unlimited subscriber. The value for that program is great if you go to the movies at least 2x month. I am new to the area so I go at least 3x a month. This was my first visit to this location. I like that they have parking for $2. Picked this location because it was Mardi Gras and wanted to visit Joker's Smokehouse across the street. We started at Jokers for a drink, which was good because this Regal does not sell booze. We grabbed a large popcorn to share, which was fresh. After the movie, we headed back to Jokers for dinner. The theater is big. Workers were friendly. They have a large play area with games. The bathrooms need work. Our theater was big. Several seats in this theater. Seating style is traditional stadium. I enjoyed that you could sit high up. You can pick your seat in advance on their app. Seats were good size and had cup holders. We enjoyed our movie. I like how the the sound was insolated from other movies. I have found that Regal off Webster, sometime the sound of other movies bleed through the walls. All in all, I prefer Webster but would come back for a matinee. read more

Racking Up Free Tickets This complex is very disorganized. Our tickets (bought on Fandango) for Deadpool & Wolverine took us to the wrong theater, at least at the wrong time. We entered the theater during what should have been previews; instead, it was clear we had already missed a good chunk of the film's beginning. I checked with the ticket taker to prove for a mistake; her response was, "If that's what your ticket says, then that's what it is." We sat through the rest of the movie and were disappointed. Afterward, I talked to the manager. The manager blamed Fandango, noting that Fandango often makes mistakes re: theater number and time. How they have not communicated to and trained the theater staff to look for such errors is my biggest challenge here. The takeaways: 1) apparently, don't use Fandango, and 2) stick to theaters (local, independent) where, consistently, the staff cares about getting the movie goers' experience right. This is the second time (out of 2 trips) in 6 months that my family and I got free tickets because the experience was bad. read more

I took my son to see "Migration" here yesterday. I was surprised that the theater was pretty dead even though it was a New Years Eve kid's matinee- I would have expected it to have been packed. The staff were pretty nice and the place was pretty clean but they definitely needed to stock the toilet paper in the bathrooms. Also, the seats were the older less comfortable version, which wasn't awesome (and maybe part of the reason they were slow). Regal sucks and this theater is the worst, recommend everyone avoid it. Saw Interstellar in the "imax" yet the sound was horrible which was like the ENTIRE POINT. Plus it's not even the full real imax size. Also spending $50 for popcorn with barely any butter, two bad hot dogs, and then two drinks when the machines were either missing ice or otherwise not taken care of because the pop tasted off and not even good. At least this time we knew to show up crazy early because yes they are insanely slow. Plus the seats aren't even comfy. As well as why are there always rude customers here? You can tell what reviews are fake by how they defend this theater and its predatory parking practices with ABM. This theater has had FREE parking for as long as I can remember with parking gates that have always been left open. Like many others I received a $160 ticket for nonpayment. You can call this number 1 (312) 286-2087 for one of their employees to basically tell you that you should have read a sign upon exiting. Absolute garbage and terrible business practices. Update: They reduced my fine to $5 after I disputed it. I recommend everyone else do the same. I hope ABM is trapped in a hellscape of phone calls and emails for the rest of their miserable existence. Same goes for Regal for partnering with them. read more

This review is a reflection of Regal at large, because this failure doesn't exist in a vacuum. At first glance this theater looks out of business, and the interior supports this. The parking ramp is unsafe, with busted out windows for over a year (pics below). There is broken glass everywhere and I wouldn't wear open-toe shoes here. Absolutely filthy, it literally has a stench no matter where you are. Bathrooms are disgusting and regularly littered with paraphernalia. After two years of going there, I've never been present when there's a functioning soda machine. It's irritating seeing a multimillion dollar regal ad before the movie - imagine if they had spent half of that money on staffing and upkeep of their theaters. read more

I actually don't hate the theater itself, but the parking situation has become such a nightmare that I likely will not visit this location any longer. This has been my preferred theater for the last couple years since I live nearby. Apparently at some point in early 2023 they switched from free parking to paid parking, however for months after this change was instituted there was no clear signs for long time movie goers to know that parking was no longer free. More recently they have put up more signs that actually make it clear you have to pay, but I had 3 trips before then where I had no idea I had to pay for parking and now magically owe $240. I'm happy to pay to a small fee for parking, I don't even have a problem with them switching from free parking to paid parking, but the transition has been a mess. If the industry actually wants people to start coming out to movies again, hitting them with $80 parking fines every time they go is a horrible way to do it. read more

I love the experience I get each and every time I go! Especially with 4DX! I've seen a couple of movies in 4DX now, "Avatar: The Way of Water" and "Wicked" and it made the entire experience something I will never forget, especially with "Wicked" cuz I wanted to feel like I was actually there in Munchkinland and the Emerald City and flying on a broom next to Elphaba and it gave me what I wanted and more! The concessions are a bit pricey and same with movie merch but it's all worth it in the end! And it also makes for a great time and experience for everyone and memories to last a lifetime! read more

Scam business practice that uses predatorial parking policies to charge you $80 fines. There is no obvious parking payment mechanism in the actual parking lot, and this can lead to confusion on how/if payment is needed. Highly recommend boycotting this theater. read more

VERY meh. I was super pumped to watch dune 2 in IMAX and experience denis villeuve's cinematic masterpiece. Movie was awesome, but little else about the theater was. Most I'll give it is the service was decent and the theater quite clean. Perhaps I am the old man yelling at a cloud here, but I bought a ticket for a 1045 showing. I show up 1051 and previews haven't started yet? Movie didn't get started until 1115. Is this how movie tickets work now? On to more substantive critique: The stadium seating was pretty nice and did offer good sightlines. The big problem being that the film projection quality was pretty garbage. Feels like I should call the IMAX legal team to audit this theater to see if its compliant with the standard you know? Picture was grainy, colors muddled. Looked like they just took a standard 4k print and just made it bigger to fit the big screen. The audio was EXTREMELY disappointing. I was thinking back to watching Dune 1 at showplace ICON and feeling the thrum of the helis all around me. This Theater? it boasts "7.1 sound" that's it. its a dang movie theater it better have more than 7 speakers and one subwoofer! My 200 dollar soundbar I have at home does Dolby Atmos and this place doesn't? CHEAP! Bottom line: if you're gonna spend your dollars on fancy night at the movies, there's way better places to do so. Look for places that offer dolby atmos which is 60 channel positional audio and or dolby vision so the colors actually pop. Theater ought to write an apology letter to Denis for this. read more

I feel compelled to share this to prevent other Chicagoans from making the same mistake I did in attending a movie at this theater. I parked in the adjacent parking structure. They apparently changed the standard of what every other parking structure does where you draw a ticket and pay for it either at a kiosk or at the gate itself when you leave. The next day, I get a text that I didn't pay my fee, and that I owed money. Since it was late, I thought it would be something like $15-20. I click the link and it was.... $85. What a total ripoff to subject your customers to this. It feels like a total bait and switch and it's extremely slimy to do this to people. In addition, the theater is not in great shape itself and hasn't been renovated in over 20 years. My fellow Chicagoans, do yourself a favor and go to one of Chicago's many other good movie theaters. What I like most about this movie theater is the affordable attached parking garage! The parking garage is only $2 per vehicle, which is a great deal as parking near the city can be super expensive and hard to find! The movie theater itself is pretty standard. The seats are stadium style with a good elevation, which really helps to stagger the seats so that the rows in front do not block the view of the rows behind. read more

We popped in last weekend to see, "Deadpool and Wolverine" in 4DX. The 4DX experience was fun, as we'd done it before. With that said, this place is a nightmare. Everyone is rude. Everyone. This was also the second time we've been here and they were put of almost every concession. Opening weekend of a huge summer movie and they were out of popcorn, pizza, pretzels. If you wanted a hot dog, the wait was 30-40 minutes. That came from the concession attendant. The 4DX theater was gross. It hadn't been cleaned prior to our movie.
